Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain and the third largest active volcano. What an amazing day. The drive up is exciting as the roads are windy with steep cliffs. The views out over the island are fabulous. The volcano stands well above the lava fields and is so impressive. There was 1.5m of snow on the peak, so we're unable go on the cable car. Definitely recommend visiting; it's a must do and wear something warm.

Teide and Anaga were my best experiences in Tenerife 🖤 i did not have tickets for cable car so I did the hike, which is really hard; 8 km just hiking uphill and a total of almost 4 hours; started at 2400m and gained 880 meters elevation until we got to a cabin; another 2 hours you will reach the top; the views are totally from another world. Just amazing

One of the most interesting and unique landscapes on the planet. You can drive through the crater of one of the world's largest volcanoes and have a once in a lifetime experience. If you love nature and geology there are few places in the world that are more exciting than this. You can walk among ancient lava fields and see all sorts of different minerals and rocks. It's truly the highlight of my Tenerife trip. If you plan to take the cablecar up to the top, make sure you book it in advance as chances are you cannot buy a ticket for the same day.

Excursion, Teide by night. Fantastic trip up to Mt Teide to view the volcano and surrounding lave fields. Enjoyed an amazing sunset, albeit shared with hundreds of others. Then, we enjoyed the incredible night sky, unspoilt by light pollution.

I have no words that can describe this place it is absolutely amazing. We went very early in the morning to see the sunrise and those scenes are something I’ve never seen before, just stunning.

The national park offers a glimpse of another planet. Its volcanic landscape is unique and beautiful. The park offers a wide range of activities from cycling, hiking or visiting a cafe with stunning views - there is something for everyone. Ideal for one-day or multi-day trips. Definitely a must see in Tenerife.

The mountain is good, the views are great and the landscape impressive. But.. 37 euros for a 5 minute cable car ride.. Are you mad! The total rip off at the end ruins the experience.. Shocker..

Lovely area for hiking, spectacular views. Maps of various routes shown at parking spots, easy to follow trails with a variety of distances. Worth taking a jacket as colder weather in the mountains. Great roads for cycling. You can take a cable car up to the top of the volcano but recommend booking ahead €37 per person.

The most unique and amazing views in Tenerife. You can drive with car quite far, up to 1500m above sea level. The landscapes are amazing, it feels like another planet. I very highly recommend going for the sunrise, it is out of this world experience and it is completely tourist-free. Just check in advance you are on the right side and high enough so you can see the sun rising.

In awe with the place. Best done early morning or late afternoon to catch the best views and light. Take plenty of time for stops and walks along the unusual beautiful lunar landscape. Be prepared for sudden drops in temperature as the sunsets gets closer an extra layer would be welcome. The walking paths are gravel with boulders along the way, some good walking shoes are required if you intend to cover longer distances, for daytime stay hydrated and carry some sun lotion and sunglasses. I hope you will enjoy your visit as much as I did, you’ll end up having so many good memories to carry along the road.

Spectacular drive from the North, very busy when you get to the volcanic plateau. No room to pull in at viewpoints, even in January. Book ahead for cable car. There is quite a quick turnaround of people at the cable car, so you should find parking. Base a bit disappointing, I thought there would be better views from the base station. Adequate cafe. 8 mins for 1200m ascent, quite spectacular. 8t is quite crowded. Was surprised how much the altitude affected me, even the short walk to the viewpoint made me dizzy, and I'm normally quite fit! Only allowed 1 hour at the top which isn't long if you walk to the viewpoint. The views are truly stunning. It is expensive, but worth it.

Our planned summit tour was canceled due to strong winds, leading us to explore all sides of the Teide Park without lengthy hikes. If you're not planning extended hikes, you can explore and witnessing both the beautiful highland and volcanic terrain with pine tree parks in the north, and the more rocky, Mars-like atmosphere in the south. Visiting both sides ensures you experience the diverse beauty Teide Park has to offer.

A park of breathtaking geological beauty, incredible lights, starry nights like I have rarely seen. And above all calm, serenity. We stayed 3 days. A wonderful memory.

It's beautiful, we went on an organised tour costing €27 each for a half day, interesting commentary right through lots of opportunities to stop for photos around Teide, this does not include the cable car to the top, which does not always run, (ours didn't as it was too windy) also you can't go to the very top anymore without specific permission to do so.

Amazing view! But cabins are overcrowded. At the top there are several routes, so you can choose any - all of them beautiful. It's quite cold, so have a hat and a t-shirt with you. Also sunglasses would be extremely useful.

Absolutely insane views and such a scenic drive. The motorway up the mountain is safe and so well built. There are barriers on either side of the road, so it's a comfortable drive even if you're scared of heights. The view was absolutely amazing the whole way, and once you get up above the clouds, it's breathtaking. You can park up on the side of the road in various places to take in the view or follow a hiking path. There's a beautiful cafeteria towards the top of the volcano where the cable cars are. You have to wear a mask on the cable car which they charge you at one euro each from the shop so its best to get one before you go there. There are toilets at the cafeteria and at the top of the mountain once you get off the cable car. We went up there again at night to Star Gaze, and it was phenomenal. Take some blankets, pillows, warm tea, and just spend a few hours appreciating the night sky.

What an amazing beautiful Volcano which you can drive/ motorbike or coach trip around.. View points to stop at.. There is a cable car ride but we didn't do as so busy. You can also do by night.. Up top is a beautiful well done picnic area.. The whole of this national park is amazing and really worth doing. So breath taking and is a must to do

It is really hard to describe with words, like you are in another planet. The road between the black vulcanic rocks feels surreal. Incredible to think about that this was all once a "living" environment. Now it is just a beautiful wasteland with the sleeping giants. If you go up by car it is a beautiful experience as you drive through the forest in fog, as you reach 1800-1900 meters you just find yourself above the clouds and the sun is shining again. We will definitely return for more days and explore the area on foot, hiking.

Our vacation on the island of Tenerife was also dominated by a visit to the highest peak in Spain. We had a rental car. The ride was pleasant, but it was a very hot July day, so we also suffered. But the landscape is interesting.

Must-visit place in Tenerife. For me, the #1 place on the island. Go for a hike, you will not regret. Sunset here is gorgeous. If you can wait until around 9 pm, you will be able to see a perfect sky full of stars 🤩

Amazing scenic views over the clouds. There are a lot of turns to be made to go up the mountain so heads up to those who get motion sickness. Make sure to book cable cars tickets in advanced as they are usually sold out

Nature startles everyone, the vegetation blends with desert area when you climb over the volcano Teide. On the top of it, there is snow! What hits you more during climb is the lunar landscape and this feeling of loneliness and isolation that is in a sharp contrast with all the tourists near to you. Have fun.

Very beautiful place. Many breathtaking views all though the way to top of Teide. I do recommend to take w full hike. Its not so hard, even for a person who is not in great shape (I sit 10h in front of computer every day and I managed to go though all way up ). Remember to take hiking shoes and something warm, it can be really cold up there. The whole hike (through La Rambleta to the top) took about 5h. The cable car can be closed due to strong wind so check it out before you go anywhere :)

It i ms a really good experience walking on a vulcano. You feel like you landed on the moon. Lots of parking areas to stop, take a walk, take pictures and discover the variety of rocks. Just check in advance if the cable car is open and book tickets in advance.

Get ready to be amazed! Feast your eyes on the awe-inspiring view of the majestic volcano Mount Teide. Its towering presence and breathtaking beauty will leave you in complete awe and wonder. If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure during your holiday, then you absolutely cannot miss hiking Mount Guajara. We took quad bikes up to the park and we had beautiful views. Dress warm because it gets chilly at this altitude. Make sure you sit and take it all in. It truly is gorgeous.

Really nice loop trek, easy walking even with kids, few rocks to step over, at the end is quite steep hike, but nothing dramatic. You can see some butterflies, birds and many lizards. Preferably go morning to avoid crowds and easily park.

Its one of the most impressive advancture of Tenerife. The trip to Teide begins with a fantastic vulcanic land with pines, then a scf-fi landscape with bushes, interesting flowers etc. There are several photo point mention by Google maps, all of them should be visited. If you plan to use the Cable Car to the top, its adviceble to arrive before the opening time. We also used a good wheather forcast app to visít Teide in good wheather. I think it can be enjoyed fully only in sunshine.

Beautiful, must see! A variety of different landscapes. Kind a long way to drive up there but it is worth 100%. Bring enough water with you cause you need it on a hot day. In the evening went out to do some Astrophotography and it went better than expected.

Must visit place. The heart of this beautiful island. I would highly recommend to take guided tour first then take a shot with your own (rented) transport so you can stop and enjoy every moment and scenery when you feel so.

One hell of an amazing experience, everyone should come here when visiting Tenerife. I'm told the Teide By Night is even better for those who love the stars and night sky. If you're not steady on your feet you will still be ok here, just may find it difficult to climb the areas which are rocky and don't have stairs but these areas are minimal. See the sights for yourself, it's really breathtaking.

What a beautiful parc! It was a breath taking road trip and it is worth the visit. El Teide and its landscapes are amazing. If you have difficulties with walking this is not a good place to visit. It is a busy place with lots of tourists, buses and cars.

Like an alien world...... Mars maybe!!! Unbelievable landscapes and views from above the clouds. The highest elevation the roads takes you is 2250 mtrs above sea level. There are plenty of hiking trails that will take you higher, and of course, the cable car will take you even closer to the top. Pre booking is advised, and a permit to reach the crater is needed. Apparently, it needs to be applied for well in advance. This wasn't something I did due to it closing at 5pm and had planned to stay and see the stars (note for future visit, check car charger is working so phone doesn't run out of battery) There are plenty of tours that will take you up there but I hired my own car (at a cheaper price than the tours) so I could take my time and not feel rushed. I drove past a huge brush fire whilst up there, cause unknown to me, but do not discard cigarettes or litter. Will definitely return again sometime in the future, with fully charged phone or back up anyway 👍

If you are going to Tenerife, Teide National Park is the one place you have to visit. Its best to rent your own car and tour round yourself. You need to book tickets for the cablecar to the top online a few weeks before going. If you want to walk right to the top, not only do you need to be fit, but you need to get the tickets months in advance as there are only a few per day. You can easily spend a couple of days up here, there is a lot more than Mount Teide to do, with various hiking trails and viewpoints. The key ones to find are Minas de San Jose and Teide Observatory, however I also really liked the hikes at Mirador de Samara. Its best to do hiking in the early morning and you see a lot of people up here before 7am. The other thing if you have your own car, is to come up here for sunset. If you cannot get tickets for Mount Teide, Samara is a good alternative. You also find people up here with telescopes after dark. Its totally black up here and ideal for astronomy. Definitely recommend at least a visit to Mount Teide and if you have time, do some of the other hikes.

Perfect way to spend a day amidst a natural wonder and away from the hectic hurly burly of the southern beaches. We drove right up to the lava fields and it felt like walking on a different planet. Quite beautiful. Dramatic sweeps of land, steep. Almost impossible rock formations and a sense of geological time. Loved it.

  • 5/5 Dai E. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing views all around, a lot of stopping locations, variety of different landscapes. Absolutely a must to go through when moving from other parts of the island at least once! Road is not that bad but highly recommended not to use manual :)

Beautiful nature. Unique landscape. Big memories. Enjoyed every moment here. The hike up the Teide mountain is another spectacular experience and view. He joined a tour which it includes the application of the pass to summit the Teide Mountain, solved us the hassle of the pass application.

A must see when on Tenerife! An out of this world feeling. Just rent a car and spend the day driving through the whole park. Account for frequent stops and walking tours. It could get windy and cold but you should still wear sun protection.

    A place with astonishing beauty.

  • 5/5 Clotilde J. 2 years ago on Google
It is a wonderful moment, you can come with kids as well. You can come by car and drive around and stop in small carparks if you have a mobility issue. There are walking paths for all levels. Tourist museum are worth stopping by. You get to see a video where everything you see is explained clearly. Best season is Spring. But it is amazing all year through. Dont forget a wind stopper and water. Both the restaurants bamby and el portillo are yummy and affordable. You can rent a car or book the excursion. Highly recommended visit. Enjoy!

Amazing park, go stargazing (top 3 in the world for it), go for endless walks or climb teide itself. There is so much to see, you really need a car to explore the area properly or be willing to spend a few days walking the trails checking out the different sights. Driving above the clouds is certainly a special experience in itself.

  • 5/5 Jubo J. 1 year ago on Google
It takes my breath a way every time I visit. We drove through the gorgeous smell of pine forests on lava fields, rose above the clouds. Admired the wonderful alien landscape and the distinctive brow of Mount Teide. Wear good shoes, lava rock can be sharp. Have your camera ready!
