The place to be for climbers in Peru. The hostal is affordable, clean, the shower is actually hot, there is a washing machine and wifi and people are very friendly. However, what made us stay almost three weeks instead of the planned 2 days was the relaxed atmosphere. The hostel ia almost exclusively frequented by climbers and mountaineers, which made it feel like one big family. There are good reasona why outdoor enthustiasts gather here, given the 200 sport climbing routes in walking distance and the excellent infrastructure for mountaineering. Next door, at the chuch grounds one can rent all equipment for both activities to unbeatable prices and even find multiple international mountain guides. So a huge recommendation, but just as a heads up: During our time almost everyone stayed longer in Peñas than they expected:)

We went on a rock climbing trip and the town is at the best location possible. The rooms were clean with cushy warm beds. Also you can take a hot shower everyday, and that's definitely a plus! Also the tree in the backyard is amazing (I truly mean amazing, it makes everyone smile!) and it makes the complete hostel a great to go and take some time to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature

Really nice hostel, with welcoming people. The perfect place for climbing in peñas (they gave us all the informations) and for trekking around the city.

This hotel is well maintained by Yvette and Gloria. Very good value for money. They are in contact with the agency of the adventure park, which facilitates the organization to go climbing. I recommand it.

A very kind and sweet lady is running the place. The room was very comfortable and new with a cozy common area where you get to cook. I love the fact that the lady takes care of the abandoned dogs in the little town and feeds them every day. If you love climbing, it's close to the crag.

Great hostel for good value. We came for one night and ended up staying 7. Very kind and attentive owners. Safe storage for our bikes. Has a small kitchen for you to cook in and laundry Climbing in Peñas is beautiful and you can rent all the gear just next door Market is on Saturdays, but other than that you can't really get fresh fruit and veggies Two small restaurants with lovely owners All in all great place to stay and worth the detour!

We first planned to stay only a few days but the warm welcome of Leo and Yvethe made us stay a week climbing in Peñas! The hostel has good wifi, a nice spot for tents at the back, warm showers, and a great kitchen/living room to relax after a day climbing. The town is far from the hustle and bustle of La Paz but only one hour away by bus. Overall, a great experience thanks to two very friendly owners :)
