We spent three nights in this lovely hotel in the heart of La Rochelle. After a warm welcome from the owner, we checked in in our newly renovated and tastefully decorated room. The bed is really comfortable, the bathroom is spacious, and the atmosphere of the room is just great. The owners were extremely warm-hearted and assisted us in recommending and booking restaurants. Julien was even able to extend the booking of our rental car and his wife Vanessa provided us with tips for our next destinations. A truly unique experience.

The hotel „Un Hotel En Ville“ is a wonderful small hotel, designed and run by its owners with great taste and charm. One of the few places you are a guest rather just a customer. The entire package - room quality, hospitality, breakfast, location, cleanness, … - is at a top level and offers a great experience of a stay in the old and beautiful center of La Rochelle. Not a mainstream place; rather one that helps you having an outstanding visit of one of France’s most charming towns.

Truly lovely small hotel in La Rochelle, walking distance to everything. Our king-size bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet, both contributing to sleeping well. The A/C worked well. The couple who own this hotel (Vanessa and Julian) are lovely people. We highly recommend this hotel.

What a great hotel! It s not only the location, not the newly furbished rooms, not the rooftop terrace. It is Vanessa, the owner! She took care of everything to make our stay special. Suggestions for special restaurants (which she booked), bike rental etc. She is the personification of hospitality. We definitly come back to explore La Rochelle and her surroundings further. Lovely well run & friendly hotel close to the centre of La Rochelle. The service is excellent. The accommodation is clean & very well presented. The lady on reception was very friendly & helpful. The room that we had was excellent. The hotel is in a small square. We visited on October 2019. The weather was lovely. The hotel is only 10 to 15 minutes by taxi from the airport. Walking into town takes a matter of minutes.

Lovely hotel in perfect location. Although compact, it has everything from comfy beds and very clean and well appointed rooms and a rooftop terrace to sit out on to very energetic and caring husband and wife hosts. The lady proprietor came out to the public car park and asked people how long they would be so we could have a space. On Sundays people go out for a long lunch but she knew what time they would go and was not happy until we got our space. Her husband wrote us a personal list of places to visit in the Dordogne, which was our next destination. Very attentive hosts, extensive breakfast and would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here for one night only. Very nice place and brilliant location for the old town. So much to see around this place that we wish we had stayed longer. The rooms were very clean and tidy. Definitely a good place to stay if you are going to La Rochelle.
