Nicely done museum. You don't have to be particularly into knives to enjoy finding out about the area's history and craftsmanship of them. Interesting visual displays and a good film on the history of the industry, based in a beautiful building.

Everytime I have friends over, I take them to this museum. We start with the movie, english or spanish version. It is fun and interesting to see the history of the knives and the making process. Location of the museum is next to the cities beautiful Cathedral.

I came to Spain from the US/Virginia specifically for the Albacete Knife show and museum - and was not disapointed. First off - I did not catch her name.....but the small, young senorita on staff, was easily one of the friendliest people I met in Spain. She was genuine, spoke very good english and is a deep asset for the museum. This is the best knife museum Ive ever been to in my 30 plus years of collecting antique daggers and folding knives. The displays were classy and very intuitive. The old work shop section was interesting as was the interpetive center. By far my favorite was the Almarada daggers from the 18th century..... The spanish craftsman who made these unique daggers, were the finest in the world at that time period. No other knife-making culture of any time period embellished their knives with brass---especially----and silver so brilliantly. The location of the museum is awesome too.....with a beautiful Cathedral and quaint little park with a fountain a few steps away.

Whilst in Albercete I had the good fortune to visit the fascinating Museo Municipal de la Cuchillería de Albacete - that showcases the history of knives and knife making from the town of Albercete - and displays an incredible collection of knives from Spain and other parts of Europe. The staff are very helpful and there is a handy gift shop as well. - Hamish John Appleby
