I learned so much here! I found out about a concept in art that hadn’t been depicted before El Greco in Spain (showing the entire city, and making emphasis on the most important buildings while holding a map of the city as well). And as a personal opinion, I found out that one of his followers, Luis Tristan, ended up creating works of art that surpassed his teacher. A nice place to spend the afternoon. Gorgeous building, green areas, and gardens.

If you’re a Greco fan, this is a must go place to visit as it has a vast selection of his paintings. If you don’t speak Spanish or understand it, you will find it hard to understand any of the signage as it’s all in Spanish which is a shame. However, I would still recommend a visit. I believe you have to pay for entry however we were lucky on the day and we didn’t have to pay an entry fee

I have to give this 5 stars for its rich simplicity and authenticity. The house and cellars of the museum were decorated as if to take you back in time. The artwork is another added bonus to the museum. It’s not large but still is rich with works of art. I loved it and one Can visit, study, learn and not be overly tired.

An absolute pleasure to visit. This is a museum-house dedicated to the famous painter "El Greco" where he lived most of his live. It was free when we visited but I think standard fee is 3 euro. Inside you can see the Apostle series which is an original collection of 13 paintings plus another beautiful authentic paintings of artists like José de Ribera.

If you want to see something exceptional visit this museum. The art is just perfect. The garden is small, bit full of life, the overall atmosphere is just like a time machine, taking you back in time

I was disappointed because I thought there would be more El Greco paintings on display. There were just one room of the apostle paintings that he did when he lived in Toledo. The place was a recreation of his house, and it was very beautiful inside and out. There was an excellent history of his life’s story. If I knew all of his famous paintings were in other museums, I would have had a better perspective. I kept waiting to see more, and the next thing I knew it was over. However, it was just 3 euros entry, so totally worth it.

Fantastic museum, and on Sunday's it's free! The museum is in the house that Greco lived in when he was living in Toledo. Very cool building, and there is tons of his original paintings and information about his painting style and those that learned from him. Definitely worth visiting.

Small museum showcasing the works of the Greek painter, sculptor and architect, El Greco who spent much of his life in Toledo during the 16th century. Works completed by his son and others trying to emulate his style are also on display. We visited on a Thursday and entry was free.

Beautiful grounds surrounding a small but compelling museum of El Greco's works. Historic site, very appealing.

You can see the house, garden, and painting related to El Greco. We visited there at the beginning of January, 2023 around noon. At that time, there were not many people. We didn’t wait for entering. If you go to Santo Tome church, here is very close.

I don't consider myself an art critic or even an art lover. But the history, descriptions, building, gardens and the displayed artworks made me a fan. A fair sized museum, I took my time to take it all in. I was surprised that I was there for over 2 hours!

This is kind of a low key museum but definitely worth checking out. The paintings are great to learn about since he was friends with Picasso. Some of his psi paintings are even on loan to Milan.

It's beautiful & staff is helpful. Sadly several hours before closing they told us we had to leave right away with no explanation. We were really shocked & disappointed since we were enjoying our time & expecting to be there for much longer.

A good place , well maintained to continue to see the paintings of El Greco. ( the Christ and apostles are great)

It's worth attending both for the museum and the house itself. I'm no art expert but El Greco's work clearly strikes an impression even with the masses. You can visit it for free in certain days.

It is not a significant display of El Greco works. It is most a recreation of the house he lived and about his influence on contemporary painters. El Entierro del Conde de Orgaz is on display a few blocks away, in the Iglesia de Santo Tome.

Pretty nice museum that displays El Greco's paintings. A stroll in its garden is also a good experience. Inside the museum is well organized, even Picasso visited here so you should too. 😉

El Greco's home recreation. Nice atmosphere. Besides the beautiful house, the visitor can see some good Greco paintings from the late period (mostly saints single portraits). Worth the visit.

Fascinating! The models for the apóstoles, were tenants from the insane asylum next door! Look closely and you will notice something is not right with their stare.

Beautiful museum and they gave us free tickets to enter. Super interesting to see the part about Pablo Picasso visiting. Definitely recommend in Toledo!

For people over 65 this museum is FREE! The paintings are fantastic. The home is unbelievable and the gardens during the spring time we’re awesome.

attractive museum in a restored house from Rl Greco times. There are also ots of paintings and even more presented on the screens. They even made a chapel for more authentic feeling. The garden is also exceptional attractive and maintained. With lots of tipical trees from Mediteranians. The personnel was atentive and good English speaking.

Worth visiting to learn more depth about El Greco, especially if it remains free entry. The signs say 3 EUR but a nice lady waved me through the entrance. A house with various rooms displaying El Greco originals or copies and works by related artists, with good historical text in English and Spanish. Takes around an hour

If you are aware that this is NOT El Greco's house, and that the name is rather historical you may find the museum quite surprisingly interesting. There are some good paintings by El Greco and the house itself is very nice. The best option is to visit the place on Sunday when it is for free

We felt the museum was wonderful, with great explanation of the artist's development and technique. The collection was tremendous; the actual pictures have a real power. A very peaceful setting, gardens and gallery beautifully laid out.

Definitely worth checking out and be sure to allow sufficient time to not just see the exhibitions and structures but also to sit in the courtyard and read a book, relax and while away the time a little. A beautiful part of the Jewish Quarter in historic Toledo.

Stunning museum. The staff were so friendly and the grounds were absolutely charming, especially seeing the traditional architecture and the paintings that made El Greco so famous. Well worth the visit, especially if you're in Toledo!

Great place with so much to learn. The art and the history behind it is fascinating. It was very educational. The ground is very well kept and has several beautiful courtyards and gardens.

Really surprised how good this was and was surprised it was free entry (this might be temporary?) Initially a beautiful garden and old house, it then just keeps going with more artworks and rooms. I'm not a huge fan of the style of Greco's work but the telling of his story gave me a real appreciation of him and Toledo. Excellent!
