It was not my thing. You really have to like archeology to appreciate it. It was way too rocky for me. I wish we could have seen it as they display it on the video or pictures

Loved this place. The guide was helpful and her english certainly good enough to complement the descriptive boards that give plenty of information. An intimate view of real Roman life.

(Translated by Google) We were a group of four people on July 12 and we were lucky that the same person who sold us the tickets voluntarily guided us and it was incredible all the interesting details and data that the guide gave us about the whole tour. Each step we took, in addition to that, always had some details that related them to other places such as the forum and the Roman theater, which encouraged us to visit, it has been very pleasant and exciting to see how someone told the story with so much detail and passion, connecting it with that human touch that gives meaning and human connection to the historical events of any generation. From here we want to thank the staff of these historical places for their kindness and in particular this person who gave us so much cultural wealth in such a short time and left us with a very pleasant memory of the visit to Cartagena. This is a small site but everything is well explained. They have a very good short video that depicts life as it would have been in the house. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great surprise below the street. This Roman house gives a really good idea of how this place used to look. Also beautiful mural paintings inside. Be aware of changing opening hours, on the day of our visit it closed early.

(Translated by Google) The site has little to do, but the girl who makes the visit is great and explains very well how the houses were and incidentally makes a very good exhibition of Cartagena. (Original) El sitio tiene poco que ver, pero la chica que hace la visita es genial y explica muy bien como eran las casas y de paso hace una exposición buenísima de Cartagena.

If I had to say something, for the site so small, it would be improved with a group of fewer people so that everyone could access the explanation. Highly recommended. A truly fascinating museum, which is in the basement of a building on a small side street. You descend down to find the remains of a Roman house, street and neighbouring house, with incredible detail of what remains. It doesn't take very long to visit, but if you're interested in Roman period, definitely worth seeing.

It's rather small, but a wonderfully preserved Roman house. You can imagine how people lived back then. Can be completed in about 30 mins or so.

Quaint little museum of a Roman house of a upper middle class family in Roman times and a little bit of the street next to it! Quick museum but impressive! So much around Cartagena for history buffs and this is worth the visit and cheap entry price with the €20 day ticket

  • 5/5 Raymond A. 2 years ago on Google
Remains of an old Roman house. Very different from usual preserved roman buildings. More a working town house than the usual villas, with a different type of floor decoration. Far bigger set up than expected from outside. Definitely worth a visit for the small nominal entrance fee. Floor uneven in places inside (the original roman roadway) so sensible shoes advised.

This was a small but interesting underground place to visit for 30 minutes or so. There is an audio guide as well as signage in English. The lighting could have been a bit brighter I think to really appreciate the layout of the house. It's such a shame to understand that such fabulous Roman riches were there and yet were just ripped out or simply covered up to build office blocks etc all over the city. We don't realise how important things are until they are gone.

The cost was 3.50 euro each. For the price you get what you pay for. There's a little bit to see and some good informational details within the Fortune House. There are a few good murals to see too but by no means will it blow your mind. Most of the remains are quite degraded. The informational video 2/5.
