Unique experience...with a tourist train that takes you up and down the mountains. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Morning and afternoon visits. Like a visit or more. It brings you closer to the difficulties of the miner until its closure in the 70s. Its 5 levels can be visited. With explanatory videos at the beginning. It is advisable to book to be on the safe side. I send a photo with my phone and training... something that the tourist information point in La Manga de Cabo Palos DOES NOT KNOW.

Good place to walk, good views, like transporting your mind to times past when mining was booming, places and material that make you imagine how hard mining was in those times and also the equestrian help they had to transport the wagons. , an olé for the miners, who gave their lives extracting the mineral.

A wonderful place with beautiful views (you can see Mar Menor, Portman, Calblanque, the entire city, lots of mountains in the direction of Cartagena and the windmills are wonderful and worth seeing, the size is impressive). There the ground is asphalt up to the middle of the mountain. And very pleasant to climb. You feel strength and resistance after a few climbs (and you always lose weight). The air is clean. The photographs come out very beautiful. People ride bicycles and walk and run. There are tourists. Pass the tourist train to see the mining museum, which has a lot of history. And there is a miraculous chapel, where people make wishes and they come true. (With the story that the miners had an apparition of Virgin Rosario in that place. And they put the chapel there. And I personally, by asking for many things in difficult times, I got what I wanted for myself and for my family and friends and even for a pet from my friend with many health problems and who recovered completely. She has something and you leave the chapel with a lot of inner peace.) I recommend 100,000%.

one of 2000 mines in this area. this mine gives a good overview about the destinies of the workers and their work inside the mine. all well explained in spanish. to improve: a small museum with all the minerals from this mine in the visitors centre and maybe a guided tour in the afternoon. the ticket could be a combi ticket for the mineral museum in the town.

An essential visit. The guide takes great care in explaining and is able to give you an idea of the harsh conditions in which the miners lived. The visit is long but when you realize it is already over. Highly recommended to come if you are in the area.

(Translated by Google) The visit lasts 2 hours. First you see a 4-minute video in the interpretation center (behind the old public market of La Unión) and then in a little train they take you to the mine (about 1500 meters away). The mine is one of the largest in Europe. It goes down to 80 meters deep. It's worth a visit. The guide makes the visit quite interesting.
