This municipal Museum resumed its activities after the earthquakes of May 11, 2011. Through it we can contemplate the history of Lorca in its archaeological collections. The Museum currently has XIII rooms where we can see different pieces of ceramics (Iberian/Greek), glass objects, coins and medals, utensils and tools or funerary trousseau of the time.

A good museum with lots of very different artefacts. They have a really cool collection of coins dating from beyond Roman times through to the present day. Lots of great historical facts about the city of Lorca. Also, everything is dual language, and so is really accessible to English speakers

Very informative free museum covering the archaeological history of Lorca from prehistoric times onwards. Exhibits are well laid out in modern display rooms, there are also 3 videos with subtitles. Receptionist spoke English well and told us about the main items to look out for in the different rooms. Allow 60 to 90 minutes to see everything.

Really enjoyed the museum the gentleman on the desk was extremely helpful most of the exhibits had an English translation. I wasn't aware that the Lorca area had such a rich prehistory.

We loved it. The man who greeted us at the entrance gave us excellent treatment, he was very friendly and attentive and explained many curiosities to us about certain pieces in the museum. The museum is very complete, it is very well distributed, with clear explanations and of course 100% recommended since it houses extraordinary pieces (a skull pierced by a crossbow point, the oldest linen dress in Europe of which some remnants remain, etc. ) in short, an essential museum on your visit to Lorca. Free entrance.

Brilliant Museum. A surprisingly large and eclectic collection of historical artifacts. It was the first time I've ever seen fabrics from the bronze/copper age. Wished I'd had more time to spend here. Fantastic. Thank you....
