It is a small but very interesting archaeological museum which displays finds ranging from prehistory to the Arab period, passing through Phoenician and Roman evidence. It is set up inside the Casa de Castril, a beautiful Renaissance palace which in itself is a precious testimony of the sixteenth century in Granada. Free entry for all citizens of the European Union.

The Archaeological Museum of Granada has a small collection that is housed in a traditional house of the Albaicin neighborhood. Even if you're not particularly interested in archeology, it's a good idea to visit the museum to get an idea of the internal architecture of a historical Granada house. There are excellent views from the second floor towards the Alhambra complex. When I visited at the beginning of July 2022, the entrance fee was 1.5 Euros. It was waived for European citizens and retirees.

A cute little museum that is free to enter. There are not a whole lot of pieces to be seen here but its a nice relaxing place not frequented by lots of tourists. I liked that it was located in a former mansion which lent an air of authenticity to the museum

Strongly recommend against buying a ticket to this "museum." We paid 2E each and once inside learned: 1. The British couple before us paid 1E each. 2. All three exhibit halls were closed. Only the entry foyer had any artifacts.

Beautiful museum in AlbaicĂn next to the Darro. The set up is wonderful and the information they provide you with is amazing but my only complaint is that it is so small. I am a sucker for history and the Romans in particular I only wish there had been more to see here in this lovely building. But that being said this museum is free for EU citizens and only 1.50 for everyone else, kids free.

Great museum, with a limited selection of exhibits which,as we thought, makes it all more relevant (so you can focus on each piece and enjoy the story and significance). Free also, and lovely and cool, a great time travel when in a city with such historical significance

Really interesting museum giving a general overview of the history of the region with a nice collection of artefacts some dating to 1.5 million years ago.

Free museum. It is located very close, practically next to Buñuelo. On the first floor it has a beautiful view of the Alhambra. If you go, I suggest one thing: let's see if you can find some Egyptian hieroglyphics in the museum ;) :)

A modest but informative museum situated along the tourist track! Admission is free, so if you have a brief hour to spare, this place will get you up to speed on the salient points South Spanish pre-history and early history.

A small museum that documents the history of the area. It costs Euro 1.50 if you don't live in Europe. It's worth visiting if you have the time but the Museo Casa de Los Tiros is better.

A lovely museum, not crowded, and it was free to enter. You can spend there 15-20 minutes. The staff were very friendly. Many thanks to Miss Nicoletta for her help around the place.

A quiet place where I really felt welcome. The Archaeological Museum of Granada is small and cozy, providing a lot of information about historical research, artifacts and archaeological discoveries.

Some very good pieces. Especially remarkable the Greek cuirass and the Roman bronze sculpture.

The cost for me to get in was 1.50 euro. I was looking for a place to spend a bit of time and came across the museum. You buy tickets at the counter and you get a map of the museum. Although the museum is small the signs and artifacts are displayed well. Most of the artifacts date back to Roman times or earlier. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They recommended other museums in the area and even marked them on a map for me. They also had clean restrooms. This was a great place to visit earlier in the day when shops and other sites are not yet open.

This is a great little museum in a restored former palace building. Gives a good overview of the last few thousand years of Granada history with selected exhibits and bilingual signs. Plan 30 to 60 minutes.

Small but excellent museum, and it is free (although it says 3 euros on the website).

Museum has some interesting pieces but it is a very small place. If you like history, it is a good option. My favorite part was the view upstairs.

This was a hidden gem in Granada. We randomly stumbled upon this Archaelogical Museum of Granada and after paying a few euro walked through the entirety and learned so much. It was really quiet throughout our time there so it felt as though we basically had the entire place to ourselves to run around

Not so many exhibits, but for free entrance it's worth a visit. There is no WC!!!

The museum has potential. Upstairs exhibit was all closed, downstairs seem to be about Paleolithic time etc has 4000 year old hair band and straw shoes. The guy at the desk was more eager to turn me away an hour before closing than anything on their free day Saturday. It’s really small, only 2 rooms were open downstairs. Gives a periphery understanding of perspective in time.

Very well curated. Good layout, well explained, interesting exhibits. Great view of Alhambra from the top floor. Free when we visited.

Great little museum to wander around for 30 minutes, it's free for European citizens and Spanish residents and only 1 euro for anyone outside of the EU. The staff are really friendly and it's well organised and they have some very interesting pieces

Great museum with a vast number of artefacts dating back far into Spain's past. All exhibits have a description in Spanish AND English - very helpful for us non speaking Spanish visitors. Well worth a visit - highly recommended museum.

Free for EU citizens otherwise €1.50. 3 key rooms over thousands of years history but not too much much to absorb - excellent exhibits with key information translated to English. Small but incredible and inspirational collection in a beautiful setting. As ever, remember to look up! Thank you for preserving and sharing.

Free for EU nationals, 1.5 euros for everyone else. Cool spacious old building with history of Granada area from 1.5 million BC onwards. Good view of Alhambra from seating on top floor. WC is behind to the left of ticket desk.

Beautiful little museum and only €1.50 for foreigners. (Free for nationals I think and maybe EU citizens). Well worth the price to view some interesting and very old archaeological pieces and learn some history. Also a pretty little view of the Alhambra from the beautiful courtyard of this historic edifice.

1.50 for visitors, and a nice 20-minute museum to see the long archeological history of the area.

Nice small archaeological museum. Free entry if you are an EU resident. Interesting artifacts from the Granada region. The actual complex was stunning as well, and nice view of the Alhambra from upstairs.
