Gorgeous scenery, views and hiking trails. Watch for the Spanish version of mountain goats. Plentiful parking. I think there is food available but didn't try. Restrooms out of paper - Europe! Be prepared for wind and a sharp temperature drop compared to the lowlands.

Amazing place to take a hike and discover interesting rock formations that aren't that common to find in nature. We took a shorter, green road that's easy to hike with kids (about 40 min without kids they say) and yellow one makes a bigger circle.

Must see! you can choose between two walks each its level and color. this place has an interesting history that you can discover in the info point before you do the walk, there is a small museum that shows you the history and it is free! You can also have a drink in de local cafe. We did our walk around 10h00 and it was very calm. When we came back around noon it was kinda busy, so if you want to do your walk when it is calm I recomend to do it before noon (We came on a sunday). Oh and don't forget to say hallo to the goats who run freely ;)

Amazing example of “karst” landscape. Its name comes from torcas Meaning sinkholes. Interesting formations Of circular concavities. This is limestone more than 150 million years old formed by marine debris thanks to erosion. It’s really something different to see and feel when you’re up in the antequerras. Expect the temperature to be a few degrees lower than sea level due to altitude. There are walking circuits anything from one to 3 1/2 km. I would suggest suitable for beginners but there is some essence and decent and pebble paths with big rocks that require large upward and downward steps are in so the fitness of the hiker must be ample. There are disability provisions made by the national park please check these are suitable for your purposes on an individual basis. All in all the drive up and down the mountain to spend an afternoon walking around a wonderful national park is well worth your time in a visit.

This is quite unexpectedly interesting park to have a nice circle easy hiking around geological treasures. It is located quite high in the mountains so temperature will be lower than in Malaga. I would recommend making a reservation as parking is not big enough or please consider less crowdy day. We nearly missed the spot in low season due to lack of the parking slot but people who work on parking helped us a lot.

Please do not miss this nature wonder when in the area! Had the best hike I could imagine. Took the yellow trail, which can be a little challenging for some. Proper hiking boots/shoes are a must, in my opinion. Reserve 3h for the yellow path and 1h for green; this is including time for little breaks to enjoy breathtaking views and taking hundreds of photos. Rocks' formations are amazing. Have a stop and think how on earth they have appeared. Breath with clean air and really enjoy the extra steps you are going to take that day. I would love to have this kind of place around me. Free parking with loads of bays. Very clean.

Am amazing place to visit. Visitor centre, free car park. Two routes to choose from if you want to walk thro amongst the amazing looking rocks. A bit on the rugged side for walking. We visited twice. I imagine the car park can be very full at weekends and the summer. It was very full in March.

Amazing place! The longest - yellow trail is in fact short. It took us 1,5 h to walk it and we were taking a lot of pictures on the way. Free entrance and free parking in front of the visitor’s center. I loved it!!!

Magnificent scenery and amazing rock formations. Easy to access with a good visitor centre and good size car park. Small café/ bar in the complex and a toilet block. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Wow, our family had an absolutely amazing time at El Torcal de Antequera! This unique natural park in southern Spain is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves stunning views and outdoor adventure. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the sheer beauty of the landscape. The park is home to a series of towering limestone formations that have been sculpted into breathtaking shapes over millions of years. As we hiked through the park, we were constantly stopping to snap photos and take in the stunning vistas. But it wasn't just the scenery that made our visit so memorable. El Torcal de Antequera is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, including birds of prey, mountain goats, and even wild boar! We were lucky enough to spot several of these amazing creatures during our visit, which was a real highlight for our kids. One of the things we loved most about El Torcal de Antequera was the range of activities on offer. We hiked along several different trails, including some that were more challenging and others that were more accessible for our younger children. We also took part in a guided tour that provided fascinating insights into the geology and ecology of the park. Overall, our family can't recommend El Torcal de Antequera highly enough. It's a truly special place that offers something for everyone, from jaw-dropping scenery to unforgettable wildlife encounters. We'll definitely be back!

Really enjoyed this park. We went on a Sunday and while it was very busy we still had a great time. We arrived at 10.30 and the top car park was already full. A good shuttle bus system is in place so we were able to park in the bottom car park and catch the shuttle for €2 per person for the return trip (keep your ticket for the return trip), When we came back to our car about 12.30 the bottom car park was also full and people were parked on the side of the road. I’d recommend coming early or later in the afternoon when some people have left. The scenery is great, we enjoyed the walk and the cafe had good coffee.

Very interesting place to visit. The road a bit curvy so prepare the children or the ones who may become sick. You will need a couple of hours to check at least more nice points there. Also there is a chance to see a lot of sheep and goats on your way to the Park. Also we’ve seen a mountain goat 🐐- so cool!

Stunning natural rock formations and views. If you don't want to hike, you can just go to Mirador de Ventanillas, it is an easy 100m walk from the parking area. Well worth the drive up.

Breathtaking views, wildlife and hiking roads. One of the best things to do is visit this place - and it is free! There are green, yellow and red paths to take, all go in circular direction. Paths are guided with arrows for you on the way. We arrived late so only took the green one, which took about 1 hour with a lot of stops and photographs. In the evening it gets really cold here so be prepared when coming late.

Beautiful landscape and easy hike. We initially planed to do the orange route, but we never found it, so we decided to do the yellow and was so beautiful! Easy to do and well identified.

Absolutely terrific spot. If you in the Antequera area, it’s just a few minutes out of town. Maintained roads to the visitor center, hiking trailheads, and rock formations. Limestone layers from an ancient seabed were compressed, uplifted, and fractured. Erosion has weathered the rock into unique structures. Picturesque views of surrounding valleys and mountains all the way to the sea. Visitor exhibits were sadly closed on our 2 May 2023 visit. Small cafeteria, gift shop, and rest rooms were open. If you are heading back to Málaga, take the scenic route back on A7075 until it connects with A7!

A very nice landscape, a big area with limestones. A minus is that cannot go with some public transportation, you need to rent a car or book a taxi. The taxi price is 36€ and wait one hour or 25€ per trip and came after you at any hour that you request.

We have visited here over the past few years and found it truly amazing. The views from so high up are fantastic and the rock formations great. We watched a few condors flying high over the rocks while we were sitting outside the cafe having a cool drink. Well worth a visit.

Great, hiking boots would be a good idea, rough terrain, allow at least an hour for the short route.

A most amazing place, with Karst formations that inspire your fantasy and are wildly different than the surroundings. Try to come here late in the day, maybe to see the sunset - so you can avoid the loud crowds and just take in the sight. People at the service center are exceptionally helpful and friendly, and they speak English.

Unbelievable natural treasure just 35 minutes outside of Málaga. Altitude is kind of high, so you should be in good shape if you’re gonna go for a hike. Wildlife is abundant there (see photos of Rams). We went there when it was super foggy out, and it was beyond magical and sort of spooky! It snows there in the winter as well!

Amazing hiking trails. Routes for all types of walkers. The yellow trail is about a 1.5-2 hour walk while the green is maximum 1 hour. All trails can be made longer. There are also trails and viewpoints to stop at on the way to the tourist centre at the top. The centre has toilets, a cafe and a little souvenir shop. The grounds are dog friendly but leash required, especially to be respectful to the animals (mainly goats) who live there.

It was great to be at the top - ideally would have liked more time to hike around but very pretty rock formations and the amazing vultures / buzzards or whatever circling was brilliant - enjoyed it albeit briefly

Fabulous location for walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists. Stunning views and good visitor centre at the top with cafe and toilets. It can get quite busy with cars and tourist buses in the top car park but lots of parking at the very bottom if you fancy a nice walk up!!

On a sunny day in November this amazing limestone landscape is easy to get to. Breathtaking views are to be had. I would park at the top car park where there is a tourist office and cafe, restaurant and toilets. The bottom car is a 4 km uphill walk. Take your walking boots and cameras. A brilliant day out awaits

Awesome. Few tourists there when we went with a small group of 8 and guide. Did the yellow, 3km walk which can be easily done best with ankle-high hiking boots since you are walking on stones.Means not pebbles but bigger, differently sized stones. We saw lots of animals, whole goat families but guide mentioned this is not common experience. The stones are interesting as it is the whole place. Refreshments after the hike in a nearby restaurant/cafe

This is a fond favourite of mine. I've explored it countless times. It has a good restaurant and public toilets. There is also a gift shop. The wildlife to be seen includes Ibex , vultures, sheep , and birds, and I recently saw a beautiful fox. The rock formations are spectacular, and you can seek out fossils. The terrain may be challenging for the very young and elderly.

We took the 2-hour walk through this visually breathtaking landscape and would certainly do it again. Included in the 2 hours were numerous short breaks for taking pictures of the rocks, flowers, goats, sheep, lizards... No dogs allowed for the walk. Respect environment 👍

Amazing hike with a guide who was passionate and excited to show us lots of interesting things about the rocks but also the flora and fauna. Superb views.

Beautiful nature reserve between Malaga and Antequera. Beautiful road to it. Beautiful rock formations. Nice walking routes of different lengths that are easy to do for most people. Nice visitor center. In clear weather beautiful views.

A very special and interesting walk in a national park. The green rute is one hour and is possible to do in sandals, but recomended in closed shoes. Rush hours (approx 11-14) no access in own car but parking 3 km down. Only few parking spaces at visitor center and the road up is pretty narrow. Price on the bus is 2 €

  • 4/5 Maciek G. 1 year ago on Google
Nice for easy and short walk. Parking on top, just next to path start. Restaurant/bar available there with pleasant prices. Great panoramic views. Rocks on path very slippery though during rain. Brush and bucket for cleaning shoes at the end of path is very nice and thoughtful touch!
