😠 If you’re a student looking for housing I would definitely recommend looking at your off-campus options. Abby has been frustrating to say the least. The apartments are pretty old and beat up and there’s mildew all over the shower, but nothing extremely bad for the price. However, the Residents Assis... People often mention room,

If you’re a student looking for housing I would definitely recommend looking at your off-campus options. Abby has been frustrating to say the least. The apartments are pretty old and beat up and there’s mildew all over the shower, but nothing extremely bad for the price. However, the Residents Assistants (RAs) are a different story. The RAs are extraordinarily strict. They seem to find joy in enforcing every stupid little rule while overlooking things that are actually a problem. Here are a few examples… I was supposed to be in a shared room but my friend who was planning to be my roommate decided to change schools last minute. This left me with a private room, only for a few months until I got another roommate. During that time my RA said that if they find me ‘taking advantage’ of the additional living space I would face consequences and be billed the additional cost for the room. This means I couldn’t go near the additional dressers, desk, half of the closet, or bed. Another time I was collecting up my used plastic water bottles because I was planning on recycling them for a few extra bucks. During a cleaning check I was failed for not ‘emptying the trash’ out of my room. Note, I am a very neat person and my room was spotless otherwise. All of this could be understood if they treated everyone like this. However, the people who live directly below me tend to have parties every other weekend involving drugs and alcohol. Here I was, thinking UT had a no drugs and alcohol policy… hmm. I can only imagine what goes on throughout the rest of the apartments. Additionally, I have lots of friends in both Campus View Suites I and II and NONE of them have RAs even close to as crazy as mine. Overall I feel like I’ve been walking on eggshells ever since I moved in.

Usually got bad roommates, bad wifi connection, bad soundproof, a lot of maintenance, private room in girls apartment is larger than boys. Also, some of residents have to live underground and bugs everywhere... clean check is too harsh(Frustrating), and there are many times people knocking door and yelling even in the early morning or late night(Annoying). If you are looking for a place to stay and wanna feel comfort, definitely not this one. Especially when you have done well on duties but your roommates don't care. If you are student and wanna rent a housing with cheap price, this one would work but just don't expect too much. Really bad housing services!

The apartments aren't anything special, a little beat up. It's not too far or too close to DSU. They made the laundry room free to residents recently which was great. There is an unfortunate amount of criminal activity that occurs at those apartments and the ones nearby, but I think that just comes with the territory of low-cost housing.
