Sonajhuri
Forest
also
known
as
'Sonajhuri
haat'
or
'Khoai
er
haat'
or
'Shonibaar
er
haat'
is
one
of
most
famous
tourist
destination
in
West
Bengal.
It
is
situated
in
Bolpur-Santiniketan,
Birbhum
district
5km
away
from
Bolpur-Santiniketan
railway
station.
It
is
such
a
beautiful
forest
that
your
frustrations,
moroseness,
anxiety
will
be
banished
by
its
beauty.
Especially
in
late
winter
and
spring
it's
beauty
reaches
the
topmost
level.
In
this
forest
a
temporary
market
or
'haat'
has
been
happening
from
more
than
100
years
mainly
in
Saturday;
but
for
tourist
attraction
some
traders
come
here
other
days
of
the
week
also.
Mainly
the
local
handicrafts,
cotton
wears
made
by
mostly
by
the
tribes
are
sold
here
in
a
reasonable
price;
but
you
have
to
bargain
😁.
If
you
are
planning
to
visit
Santiniketan
then
the
forest
and
also
the
'haat'
should
be
in
your
list.
The
main
attraction
of
this
place
is
the
tribal
dance
and
'khoai'.
So
please
come
here
and
feel
the
eternal
peace
and
beauty
of
this
place
mainly
in
spring
(in
Holi
or
Dolyatra).
Thank
you
very
much.
