We
were
recently
on
vacation
staying
in
the
neighboring
town
of
Freedom,
and
the
house
had
a
brochure
for
Sap
House
Meadery.
I
was
intrigued,
since
I’ve
never
had
mead,
and
I
love
most
things
alcoholic.
We
signed
up
for
one
of
the
Saturday
tours,
but
unfortunately
the
person
running
the
tour
was
unable
to
make
it
that
day.
The
host/server/jack
of
all
trades
behind
the
counter
was
very
apologetic
and
gave
us
a
crash
course
on
mead
making,
and
gave
us
a
few
samples.
Wow,
such
unique
and
interesting
flavor
combinations!
We
sat
at
one
of
the
little
tables,
and
I
had
two
flights
while
my
husband
had
some
local
beer.
I
could
have
bought
one
of
everything
I
tried,
but
I
managed
to
limit
it
to
five
bottles
😳.
We
shared
the
Ploughman’s
Lunch
and
an
order
of
pickled
carrots
which
were
really
interesting
and
flavorful.
And
dessert—a
Honeycomb
Ice
Cream
Sundae
topped
with
fresh
berries—was
unbelievable!
Definitely
try
some
of
the
more
funky
combinations
of
mead—I
bought
the
Thai
Basil,
Lemongrass
and
Kefir
Lime
one.
Oh,
and
the
Fig,
Vanilla
and
Cardamom
(a
Swedish
spice)
was
another
one
I
purchased.
Sooo
delicious!
If
you’re
in
the
Ossipee
area,
stop
by
this
little
gem.
FYI,
they’re
only
open
Fridays,
Saturdays
and
Sundays.
