Simpang Raya Kantin feels like a typical Minangkabau restaurant. It has that traditional look and you can taste the classic flavors. They also have a nice surprise on the menu: the satay, which tastes quite good. The restaurant is in a good place, so it's easy to find. Their service is fast, so you don't need to wait a long time for your food. The prices are okay, you get good value for what you pay. But, one thing that could be better is the cleanliness. They could improve this to make the dining experience more comfortable.

A must visit to taste local culinary in local atmosphere. The restaurant is busy, noisy and quite hot, but that's part of the local ambience. The food offering is so many, that we need several visits to enjoy them all. Of course all of them are delicious. Try the Ayam Pop (a kind of fried chicken with special recipe) and Teh Talua (tea stirred with egg and sugar), as the signature delicacies.

Well, its normally what a minangkabau restaurant looks like. Fast service, tasty food. Fast service mean no special treatment for each costumer. You can buy idr 10000 here, but i forget the password. You get rice, veggy, and combination of "kuah".

Very good restaurant. Try the Buffalo meat (Rendang) one of the best meat dishes I tried. Highly recommend!

As always, this place is one of my favourite restaurant especially in bukittinggi. Their food taste really good especially ayam pop. The taste of food never changed since I was young, exactly the same. Their hospitality is good, their service very quick, but my bad is always forgot to take some pictures in this place since I feel hungry...

Real taste from minang kabau

food is great yet it is the most expensive nasi padang ive ever tasted. possibly because the chickens are ayam kampong and small sizes therefore you have to eat atleast 2 to 4 pcs per meal. possibly the case will be different if you order the nasi rames with other menu than ayam pop

From time to time, the taste of their food get worse. The price is good but the rest room? Not at all. They have legendary food tho. Like rendang, ayam pop medan, and something like that. It is known that many travelers came here to taste the real nasi padang. But the waitress are so unfriendly sometimes, maybe they are tired. Idk. My favourite was their ayam pop medan. Or their dendeng lambok. I recomend that. They sell cigarette. And also a small souvenir shop. Good. But not af. They need more seats. Bc sometimes, its hard to find seat in weekend.
