Nighttime staff is absolutely horrible. Daytime nurses were excellent. Jackie is the absolute worst. I have been in many hospitals never have I been so mistreated by a nurse in my entire life. She knew my blood pressure was very very high but chose to pick on me and work me up anyway. All I needed was her to check my IV. She also withheld my pain meds for 2 hours.

I will go to Lafayette next time!!But thank you to the Dr.& Nurse tonight! They were great! A

It's a large hospital. It's very clean. The employees are nice. I went to the lab. The ladies were very nice and put at me ease. The security was polite and pointed me on the right direction. They have a large parking lot with handicap spaces. They have signs to direct you to the different sections. They have handicap bathrooms and entrances.

My mom had to wait outside at night for 2 hours until they came and told her that her son was dead. She spent two hours in panic and heartache not knowing her son’s condition. NO ONE had the decency to come and speak with her knowing he already gone. He just laid there like it was no big deal. I would NEVER bring anyone there for care if it was the only hospital in the area due to the fact they would probably die anyway. These people don’t treat others as human beings. It seems like it’s just a job for them and it’s sad when you’re work ethic can cost someone their life.

One star is actually being kind. Newly diagnosed diabetic with an alarming glucose gets one liter of fluid, IV insulin, and sent home on Metformin because any glucose under 400 is considered controlled at this hospital. Where does this happen? I guess the 10-minute discharge education on “watch what you eat and take your Metformin as prescribed” is enough to feel good about treating patients in an underserved area. We wouldn’t want them to have to “babysit” a patient to make sure they can avoid DKA when walking out the door! Take a pat on the back doc and sleep well; you did your job at the hospital where “90% of your patients are black”: your words, not mine. The nurse asked “why don’t I just educate the patient on diabetes? I do believe you’re being paid by the hour to do that, but I will make sure he understands the American Diabetes Guidelines and gets the care he needs elsewhere.

Well, they saved my life. I went to this ER with blood pressure so high the BP machine couldn’t read it. The staff stabilized me and then transferred me to Crowley to start dialysis. There was one moment when the ER doctor seemed to imply that I was at fault for the high blood pressure (it was caused by kidney failure, which was caused by an autoimmune disease for which I had struggled to find treatment). But I’ll allow a little snark from someone who prevents my death.

This place saved my life twice!,you see I suffer with gad, which is very severe e depression and anxiety which comes with suicidal urges, several times ,my regular meds were not helping,so I would visit the er at st.Martin hospital.the nurses ,admit ions, even housekeeping and the security guards were concerned and may have offered a tissue or a cup of water but it meant so much it’s the little things and dr.Dail was always genially concerned for my health and I always walked out of there feeling much better and in a renewed state of mind! I like to thank the nurses and doctors and wish I could remember thier names,dr.dail ,Bridget in housekeeping and the sweet security guard for the cup of water and tissue ! God bless our little hospital!!!

I can not complain about the treatment I received here. I went to the ER not being able to breath, they took me right away. I ended up being admitted and received the best treatment and care by there staff. The rooms are very clean, assistance is right there when you need. They feed you very well, I love this Hospital and there staff! I would choose this Hospital over any other if ever I need again. Thank you to the Doctors and everyone who took great care of me! 🤗💕

Dr. Dial was extremely dismissive and stereotyped me based on my hair color and facial piercings. Worst head injury I've ever had in my life. He stated I was drunk and, as I was calling him out on his BS and trying to explain the situation, he ignored me and walked out of the room. Poor, poor patient advocacy and judgemental. I hate this hospital. The nurse, Katie, was very kind, though.

Had an issue with a claim. Tried calling the hospital and unable to get through to anyone. Phone kept disconnecting. Finally called Ochsner customer service. After 1.5 hours of being transferred to different departments and talking with multiple people, my question was answered. I won't use St. Martin Hospital again because of the terrible customer service.

I will die before I go back to this hospital. I received and paid in full my bill, now 3 months later I am receiving another bill for 1/2 the amount I have already made. They are in the business of stealing money not health care.
