We've been studying here for a few days now and got a good feel for the hotel and complex. We've got a really nice room, modern with its own kitchen, lounge area with sea views and a balcony, it also overlooks the pool. March is still a bit unpredictable as far as the weather goes but the hotel has everything up and running. We've made good use of the sauna, it's a bit chilly for the pool but it's well maintained. The hotel is run smoothly and quietly by the staff, we had a blocked sink which was put right immediately. Staff are really helpful and pleasant. We are all inclusive, the food is very good quality and varied. Portugese alcoholic drinks are included. Its a really good hotel, probably aimed more at families and those looking for an experience that includes sports on the Ocean bar here and karaoke which is on offer. There are other options in the VIP and piano bars at an additional cost. We found the general area a bit short on culture and historical visit opportunities but this does not detract from the hotel. Overall, a very good experience.

So...after reading the reviews, we were expecting the worse..this place stands up with its fantastic staff, clear All Inclusive rules and good food. The people on here who moan about this and that need to get their heads around this is a great value holiday. The comments about plastic cups are unfair because EVERY AI hotel we have stayed in use those. Lack of choice of drinks is rubbish cos everything you need IS available. The food is more than adequate and although it wont win a Michelin star, get a grip and enjoy it for what it is..tasty and plentiful. The reception staff, bar servers, waiters and Managers are all enthusiastic . I think the people who leave bad reviews need to rethink the amount of money they spend on a holiday! The rooms here are clean, serviced regularly and I was even brought a nice bottle of wine on my birthday. The pool was too cold to go in for us but people were certainly enjoying it. The sea was lovely even for November. All in all we really enjoyed our 4 night winter break, the weather was incredible (25°C) every day and if you go there with a happy face, you will have a great time

Staff friendly although very unhelpful. Went to check in and the information provided was all in Portugese, although funny the next morning we were provided with instructions in English, no help from anyone, could not find the room spent at least half hour to find our room, the rooms windows are the glass doors so good luck if you want to get some fresh air, the hotel is a maze, fridge broken when we finally got in the room water all over the floor (BE CAREFUL THE ROOM IS NOT LIKE IN THE PICTURES ADVERTISED), toilet broke twice, waited 10 hours to get it fixed, paid for all inclusive meals and it is not worth it-almost no vegetarian or vegan options and lunch and dinner are basically the same meal and many times reheated or cold, drinks served in paper cups? At a 4 star hotel??? cocktails for them means gin and tonic and rum and coke so don't get tricked by them saying you have free cocktails included, you also have only one soft drink included for lunch. Requested a breakfast pack (which at first were told was not possible until a lady stepped in and told the receptionist we could) because we left before breakfast in the morning, specifically asked for vegetarian meals and when we opened the pack, it was all with ham! They also ask for 100 euro deposit at check in which is not specified when making a booking. The garden is more beautiful then the hotel itself which is odd. If you request a sea view room, don't be fooled by the pictures of the balcony( we paid extra for this) because the pictures make it seem like you have a private balcony-IT IS NOT! THERE ARE TWO SMALL WALLS SEPARATING THE SMALL SPACE THEY CALL A BALCONY FROM OTHER PEOPLES ROOMS! anyone can see in your room if they walk by and you don't have the curtains drawn. Overall not a good experience, would not recommend. Please don't waste your money coming here it is not worth it.

We stayed for a week self catering and our room wasn't like it was on the website and it wasn't as clean, it had to much furniture in the room for the size of the room. The larger pool was not cleaned it was dirty, and the smaller pool where we sat by most of our holiday needed some repairs. We didnt have any towels in the room and it took 4 visits to reception through out the day to finally get some delivered to.our room. Since it has been took over it has changed.. needs updating. Even though I like the area and the walk into the old town, I would go back again if they did some updates, as this is in a good location..

Having a lovely time here, the room is very spacious and consists of a balcony with sunbeds. The shower is like a walk in 'wet room'. It's in a perfect location over looking the beach and sea. The all-inclusive food option has been pretty fantastic to be fair, and it has two swimming pools with jacuzzi and sauna. It is not too far from the old town either! All in all, I'd highly recommend a stay at this hotel to make things easy when staying in Albufeira.

Didn’t know what to expect. First impressions were great. The bedroom and bathroom was great also the view from the balcony. Wasn’t sure if you get your room cleaned daily. However we just asked when we wanted it clean and they did. Also we requested new towels and they came straight away. We have had a fantastic time here, and looking forward to coming back. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay enjoyable and relaxing. Would definitely recommend. Close to the strip and beach and shops. Can’t review the on-site food as we ate out every night.

James DoyleI am currently a guest on site at the moment and going home tomorrow and not 1 bit impressed about my whole experience here to be honest, I feel taken advantage of with the price myself my wife and our 2 young kids paid for 8 nights approx €1900 room only There is a serious lack of communication and a staff presence around the pool, there also seems to be no daily program or anything to say as to what the daily activities are supposed to be,with very little day time entertainment for kids as per advertised in brochures and websites Also the whole resort is in need of a serious refurbishment or at least a general tidy up also looks like very little maintaining is done on a daily basis. I have been here for 7 nights now my room was cleaned twice and I'm not even sure we were provided with fresh linen on the beds I would love to give a more pleasant feedback as I'm never 1 to complain but I feel its warranted with the experience me and my family have had. I have to say on this showing I will not be returning unless some major changes happen Thanks and Regards James Doyle Room 814

This hotel is so large with such few staff that the basics get forgotten. Very much feel like a number for them to profit from rather than a guest. My room had a damaged ceiling, crumbling on floor. Looking like a bad leak had taken place- staining curtains, which had not been cleaned. Nothing done to remedy the issue either. Main areas left unclean from night before, broken glass near pool.... Otherwise, great location, close to strip. Wouldn't recommend for families.

Really lovely staff, nothing too silly to ask for. Didn't go for the all inclusive which was a good move - nice local cafes and restaurants on the beach, plus drinks and a supermarket close by. Handy as my room had a fridge and cooker. Only negative was the slight smell of drains in the bathrooms (often typical of these age hotels) and the slightly dated decor. Note that in April the pools aren't heated!! Lots of activities in the marina approx. 15 minutes/€10 taxi away

I had a great time here however there are few things to point out. I was there for 9nights at end of June, booked a superior garden view Room, we were in block E which is almost outside the complex.the view was of a bush, some stairs and an ATM machine as the gardens seemed to be the opposite direction, nothing like the picture, very dated ,thinnest mattress, glad I was on the ground floor though as the amount of stairs in the whole place would have killed me otherwise. Only 2lifts in whole place that only serve 2 blocks. Shower head broken,TV not working,no parasol in the terrace,in fairness we reported these and maintenance guy came the next day to change shower and reset TV but you could tell the shower had been broken a while before we got there so should have been done before .. Im not one to complain usually and I would not bother with small things however the one thing that really bothered me was the cleaning service. In 9 days our room was cleaned once and that is because we went to reception to complain one afternoon, the woman at the counter was shocked and said she'd send someone straight away ,this was already after 4pm and once back in the room at 7 we found door unlocked and wide open ,only beds made and bin emptied. We had to ring and then wait till 9pm for towels as they had all been taken and not replaced, no toilet paper, dust everywhere.room should be done every second day according to their booklet or 3times a week. This was very poor service and we talked to our neighbors, everyone with same problem particularly on that side of the complex, block E forgotten about.. however while at small pool we could see same cleaner every day doing the same 3 ground floor pool view rooms every day, taking her hours for 3rooms.... Swimming pool another issue, the war of the towels.. a complex with + 900rooms and maybe 130 sunbeds in total between the 2 pools, how can that be enough it was carnage, by 8am everything full with towels and no beds. No checks either from staff, they would have notice that families of 4people had beds taken from early morning and parasol and then didn't show up at the pool till 5pm.. what a disgrace... The staff at bar and Buffet were really nice and friendly. Food grand not great beverage selection on all inclusive.

Shameful !!!! If you want a nice vacation, quiet and peaceful...do not go the the Muthu Clube Praia da Oura....You will not be able to sleep since there are dogs (next to the resort) barking all night long, every night from 4pm through next morning. When mentioned to management....Their motto is ''do as little as possible'' to accommodate the guests.....Cleanliness.....to be improved a lot. ''there is nothing we can do about it.....''....Leaving before the end of our stay. The ''Chevalier MUTHU'' should take his sun glasses off and start managing his resort...

Rooms spacious and well equipped. Pool nice and large with quick access to beach about 50 metres away. Not enough sun loungers for all the rooms though. Lots of small food outlets around the complex of varying quality, caters to all inclusive crowd.

Fabulous location , we had a beach view “ de luxe” apartment and it was basic but clean and comfy .Apartment was cleaned 3 times during the week we were there , and was spotless all over the complex. My only negative would be the lack of lightning at night time , no pool bar at our pool , and the lack of music by the pool . Apart from that I would highly recommend it and I will be back

The hotel is spotless. Our room was cleaned every day. On arrival we had complimentary soft drinks in the fridge and complimentary slippers. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. We were all inclusive and the food was very .a wide selection to choose from. The location of the hotel was superb, built next to the beautiful sandy beaches and only 5 minutes walk up the hill to the bars and restaurants. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to all holiday goers. You would not be disappointed

This is a huge hotel we stayed in block K had to drag our suitcases up a hill at 2am to get to our room was not happy with this as the footpaths and rooms are really bad Ann’s I have arthritis so had no strength in my stems to pull the cases. The room we had was great very big and very clean and had everything we needed. The hotel is right by the beach and near the strip and other pubs and restaurants. It’s a 10min drive to old town and 15 min to the marina. Will be back again for sure .

Food was excellent, particularly the Italian section. Staff were pleasant at all times which created a lovely atmosphere. Room was kept extremely clean, I would rate 5*. Rooms were spacious, had a TV with all channels you would need, comfy beds and unique beautiful furniture. Perfect if you want a relaxing holiday, while still suitable and accommodating for children.

Hide sweet stuff when in the apartments as there are ants everywhere. If you open it eat it. If not definitely store in a plastic box or bag. Breakfast was busy and there was a lot of food and drink to select from but it felt quite repetitive everyday as there wasn't much difference each day. Maybe one of two items changed. Also not massive hot food selection for vegetarians. If you are a meat eater you are fine. Lots of salad and fruit. Staff really helpful and friendly. Very efficient level of service. Beautiful views from balcony, especially B block or the one right in front of the beach. Gardens were well kept and lots of birds.

Massive hotel. Very near to beach. 10 minute walk to the strip. 5 euro in a taxi to old town. Breakfast was okay. Rooms okay to get your head down in after sampling the local beers. At the bottom of a steep hill and the hotel can be difficult to navigate around the first few days. Staff were helpful. Rooms cleaned every day.

The hotel itself is lovely but the rooms are outdated. Always clean though and cleaned everyday unless indicated. The location is right on the sea shore. Lots of walking though. To get to the new town is up hill. When we stayed we used uber to go everywhere. To go into the old town was only €4.50. To go to the gypsy market was €15. Far cheaper than using a tour company We stayed at the end of January and when I had booked it 9 months before they never stated that only 1 restaurant will be opened. The rest are shut for the winter. We booked with easyjet and 2 days before travel we got notification that the hotel was unable to provide all inclusive so either go half board or rebook. We choose to still go but other people staying had all inclusive arm bands on. Over all a nice hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Short walk to the beach and another lovely restaurant down there. Not for those who cannot walk far as the complex itself is massive but we were lucky to stay in section E which isn't thay far away from reception. Oh and the jacuzzi is cold water it's not heated.

Location is perfect for the beach and view. Hotel, we did self catering. Room had all what we needed but unfortunately the aircon didn't work. I reported it and maintenance came the next day. Couldn't fix it so offered us another room but we decided to put up with the heat just because of our amazing view of the sea.

This is one amazing resort experience. If you get all inclusive you might even enjoy further however whichever board you decide I think it will be worth in the end. A very friends and sympathetic staff, up to date amenities and well equipped apartments. If you have a beach/ocean view you get an even better experience. Would definitely return again as it was on of the most relaxing yet amazing holidays. Rooms have AC, TV and kitchen with equipment and the sofa beds are also sizeable. Give it a try and you won't regret.

Booked the hotel via booking on a deal and got the best value. We went there for my wife's birthday and also requested for a room with the beach view. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and agreed to our request. The view from the room was amazing and the beach was less than 50 meters from our room. The entire area has loads of activities to do and restaurants nearby with beautiful view of the beach.

Room was ok, lots of ants but basic amenities. TV didn’t work though. Constant banging noises at night prevented sleep. Service very poor - rude at front desk, the lady I dealt with on checkout assumed I was wrong about my booking number and even when my flight was and tried to say it was the next day. When my girlfriend went missing they also were not helpful at all. The cleaners are extremely friendly and polite, can’t fault them. Front of house staff need training.

Room is fine. Service is poor. TV didn’t work. Safe didn’t work. Sensor to door stopped working mid-stay and we had to wait outside our room for nearly an hour at midnight while waiting to get it fixed. Food is poor. Very noisy area. Had to avoid the pools as they attracted the wrong kinds of people and the quieter pool did not have enough loungers. It’s close to the beach and there’s lots of restaurants and bars on site but I would definitely avoid.

Great hotel!! I was worried about it's accessibility before going from reading reviews. However, I'm on crutches and found everything accessible, accommodating and pleasant. The reception staff were very nice and even gave us a room on the ground floor to assist us!!

Spent a week here with family during half term, had an excellent time. Our apartments were clean and modern, with comfy beds and excellent bathrooms. Choice of two adult pools, which were well maintained, plenty of sun loungers during our stay. Rooms were cleaned often, with clean bedding and towels every couple of days (hotel trying to save water which was great to see for environmental reasons). Restaurants at the resort and other MGM hotels were great for all inclusive options, especially the Mediterranean and mexican options. Overall great holiday and would definitely visit again.

Beautiful hotel in an amazing setting. The hotel and grounds are one of the most opulent places I've ever been, polished stone and porcelain tiles throughout, impeccably clean in all the areas I visited. The all inclusive buffet service was as good as any I've used, a good variety of dishes to choose from at all sittings, the ocean bar is looking a little tired but there are improvement works underway both there and at one of the pools. One piece of advice is be prepared for the stairs, there are many of them and there's not a lift to every floor or section of the hotel. All in all though had a brilliant mid march break and would definitely return.

Smart hotel. Nice staff. Fab location. We had an issue with the heating in the room not working but we just wore layers it wasn't cold like an English winter the weather was lovely. But the experience was a nice break away and I wouldn't let the issue we had put you off. It was smart and clean. We stayed self catering so can't review the food as we are out instead just myself and partner. Would Def go back

On check in I questioned weather I was getting a deluxe room with sea/pool view and was told yes, anyway I proceeded to my room and have to say accessibility to rooms is a joke! Lots of pebble paths hard to drag cases and up stairs. On entry to the room you enter on your balcony part (which is not private) I entered the room and what I saw was nothing but disappointing I deliberately booked based on the images for a deluxe room which looked nothing like it. The whole apartment is run down, the sofa is completely tired and stained, walls, curtains all stained and dirty. The kitchen again tired and dated. The bedroom is basically 2 single beds pushed together they split apart when on them. The bathroom stinks of sewage in fact when you shower or flush toilet the smell gets so bad it’s stinks out the whole apartment. The water in the shower is just slightly warm at best. Oh and the sea/pool view??? I can see a bit of water from sea and can’t see any pool so that’s a lie also. I would never stay here again 4 stars rating is a stretch it’s a 2 star hotel that needs updating everything including the reception area is a 80s throwback.

Stayed in this hotel for a few days. Overall it was lovely but I thought the cleaning standards have dropped. When we arrived to our room the floors were dirty, the floor on the balcony was covered in sand. After 3 days we had to ask for new towels and for our room to be cleaned, which was difficult as the cleaners did not speak English and told us to speak portuguese. Apart from that, the food quality is good but there should be more a variety. The restaurant manager is lovely. The Italian restaurant at the hotel is fantastic . Some of the waitresses in the buffet area of the hotel were not friendly. Staff in the ocean bar are fantastic. And the entertainment at night is brilliant. Excellent place to bring kids.

Absoloutley gasping for a drink.....(water!!!!) 6am can't wait any longer......reception closed (walked round) meant to be open 24hours and the phone in the room doesn't work. so can't call for assistance. Shocking for all inclusive, when you can't get the basics. No water provided in the room either.

Beautiful hotel, food not so great and got a bit loud on our last two days Fri and Sat night. Probably younger people coming home from pubs / clubs. Over all a nice hotel.

We have just returned from this hotel. We were a party of 3 couples. Check in was easy at 2am and friendly, we were quite far from the pool so we asked to be moved the following morning and the reception staff were very accomodating. The hotel was very quiet as it is low season, the staff were very friendly and we would especially like to thank the Chef Sandip for going out his way to make our stay very special, he could not have done anymore to be honest. The restaurant and bar area were looked after by Rohan, Morgan and Paula who were also very friendly. the only downside was the all inclusive bar stopped at 10pm which is very early comparing to other hotels we have visited in the past. All in all we had a fabulous time and will definetely will be returning.

Its a very basic place to stay, apartments clean..pool area not too clean or maintained well. Good for long weekend away or hen stag parties. Has an issue with WiFi took 4 days to address it.

Our room, although very nice, clean and comfy, no utensils. Doesn't get much sun, being in the lee of the building to the SW of us. Staff first class. Facilities are superb. Swimming pools, sauna, jacuzzi everything, beautiful gardens. Definitely recommend this place for a holiday

The manager Lucia is the best! She helped us with everything. When we first came to the resort we didn't had any towels and the bathroom was clotted. The customer service did their best to fix it and we could enjoy our stay.

This Hotel was a revisit and how we wished we had not bothered. Athough 4 star this hotel was awful. The room was very dated. The fridge did not work under investigation we found the plug was hanging off the wall!!! The shower water would not run away down the plughole and ended up flooding the bathroom. The food was dry and very bland we ended up eating out because it was not edible. We went to the Piano bar for drinks to be told this was not an allinclusive drink bar. We were directed to the Ocean Bar which shall we say had seen better days!!We will not be returning again....

We had excellent attention from the reception and cleaning employees, especially Maria at the reception, Isabel the housekeeper and Dolly from maintenance. Excellent quality and very good treatment of all employees. We were pleased to share the anniversary of the Customer Service team and we really enjoyed it. The food is very good, mainly Asian, and the buffet is very complete and rich. The rooms are beautiful with an extraordinary view and very nice. Recommended to go to enjoy a vacation. The attention they gave us from the moment we arrived to the day we left was great. Thank you for so many good moments shared and for the coordination of all the staff, but especially to Lucia Lareo for her excellent service and predisposition.
