Came here with my girlfriend and dog on a Friday night. Smoked pulled pork sandwich was great. The environment and atmosphere was fantastic!

Great homemade sandwiches and salads probably no better sandwiches in Riverside County.

Great sandwiches, but they don't make them with vegetables. They have a self-serve veggie cart, so you can load up on your greens. Backstreet serves desserts, wine and beer as well. They have live music on occasion and are dog friendly. A shaded outside patio is perfect for dining. Check hours on their website before you visit in case they have holiday hours.

One of my favorite lunch spots when my coworkers and I go out! The menu is simple but they keep everything fresh and delicious. My go to order is the house special which is pastrami and roast beef with cheese. They don't skimp out on the meat. The sandwich comes with a side and the salad bar is included. Service is friendly and efficient. They are only open during lunch on the weekdays though.

I went here on a Friday afternoon for dinner when they had live music. The ambience was great, and even though the weather was hot out, the restaurant temperature was cool because of all the shade and misters. My sandwich tasted fresh, and I got the Shark Attack drink as well (super cute!). The only thing I would recommend is having the order area a bit cooler, that room was quite hot and crowded. For dessert I had the raspberry cheesecake, and OMG I am not lying when I say that was the best piece of cheesecake I have ever had, I would come back just for that honestly. It's a nice place, and the live music was the perfect touch to a relaxing environment, highly recommended

Backstreet is always the best! I love how they have all the sides packaged up now. I don't get to town near enough to enjoy it. Much love to Keith, Kitty, and all. Sorry I missed seeing you.

Relaxing atmosphere with refills. You walk up to order at the counter and take your food to a table. The waitresses brought the dessert and refilIed drinks. The garden and yard art are refreshing even on a hot day.. The French dip was tasty. I have only suggestion...they should include soups on the menu. The world needs a casual place to get great soup.

CATFISHED. The restaurant is so beautiful but the food is dissatisfying. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with a potato salad. The sandwich had no seasoning and dry.The potato salad was not homemade and tasted 3 days old from the plastic tube. The service was weird. They have waiter’s but we had to carry our own food. This restaurant needs Gordon Ramsay or a chef that knows flavors and seasoning’s. I hope you guys can seek help.

Amazing food! Great environment. Love the back patio. BUT, are the open? Are they closed? Who knows. DO NOT go by their web site's hours. I've shown up twice to this place according to their schedule and it had been completely dark. Shame. I've been to a lot of places throughout the country including New Orleans that serve unbelievable food. This place is in the top 10. I just wish they were more reliable. I recommend calling every time to make sure they are open.

My new fav sandwich shop. Today was bustling with hungry people. The hefty sandwiches are filled with meat , sided with coleslaw, potatoe salad( wich is amazingly delicious) or chips. The pies, cheesecake are made with love, i know i can taste it. 😆 the portions are shareable because they are hefty. The workers buzzed like bees checking on patrons to assist with refills, silverware, or boxes. The new owners have breathed new life into a local favorite place, Still great food but more amenities. Try every sandwich on menu, try every dessert , Try every pickle, unless your allergic. 🤦. Bring a friend on Friday for courtyard live entertainment 5- 9 and have a beverage or two 😉

I don't understand some of the negative views on here. I couldn't recommend this place enough. The new ownership of Backstreet has made a HUGE upgrade without disrespecting the history this place held. I now live in Hemet but I have no issue going out of my way to grab lunch here!

Beautiful place to sit for lunch break. Patio area is bigger than I'd thought. I ordered pastrami and potato salad and enjoyed my sandwich under the shade. Food is delicious and they serve good portions. I only was able to finish half of my sandwich. Definitely recommend. I will be going back and go down the menu. 😋

$15-$25 before tip. Delicious American lunch. Great outdoor seating. Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious sandwich. Delicious beans. Many options available. Desserts available. We must carry tray outside. It can be tricky with the drink. Large portions. Neighborhood is quiet. Little road noise.

Food was good, nice cozy atmosphere, and the workers are friendly. Strange they only open for 3 hours though. You also get a side plate you can load up with carrots, pickels, macaroni salad and other stuff.

Not the same since owners changed. Back to back twice in 3 weeks they messed up with my order. I had asked for corn beef on Rye and they gave sour dough bread. this happened twice already . The guy who makes the sandwiches in the same as before , so not sure why they are not serving the correct bread

Love the outdoor setting. Definitely a favorite lunch place. Great place to bring out of towners. Very good food and friendly staff! Our faves are the tuna and the corned beef.

Love this place, best sandwiches and sides ever. They are so friendly that you feel you're part of the family. Great atmosphere and so peaceful to me.

Each community has spots that are unique to their culture. Backstreet is one of those places for Riverside. A bit off the beaten path with limited parking, and only open a few hours a day. If you're a local though, you've been here many times and it's earned a special place in your heart. The food is great, but the atmosphere and the opportunity to spend time enjoying the outdoors on their back patio with loved ones makes it even more special. A unique spot that does their own thing and does it well.

This is such a nice beautiful place to eat. The sandwiches are amazing, made with high quality meats and cheeses. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a cute garden area to sit and enjoy your food. One of my favorite places to eat lunch.

Our favorite place for sandwiches. Super simple but the ingredients are absolutely fantastic. The pickles are good, and we love that they have things like pickled beets. Good potato salad and good beans. We ordered two corned beef and one turkey. Highly recommend them.

You CAN NEVER go wrong with Backstreet. The Food, Atmosphere and Service are such a Riverside staple. I so LOVE this place !!

Parking is limited, yet you can park on the side of the street for up to 90 mins. They have both an inside and outside area to eat. It's a cafeteria style ordering system with trays for the food. They offer a good amount of food for the price and I believe you can get seconds at the salad bar. The atmosphere reminds me of the art at Tio's Tacos and it's pretty neat to look at. Overall, this was my first time here and I would come back. I would recommend the banana cream pie because it's worth it.

Very relaxing, a great outdoor place to eat (They also have indoors).

Had a pastrami sandwich, my wife had a French dip sandwich. Both sandwiches had alot of fat on the meat and both sandwiches were very dry and lacked flavor. I have been going to Backstreet for many years and was surprised at the substandard quality. The one saving grace was the live guitar music played by a 82 year old Vietnam veteran. The melodious sounds were very soothing . I will go back again to see if my experience is more like I remember it, really hope so.

Love Backstreet! The sandwiches are delicious and includes a side dish and a trip to the deli bar. The outdoor patio is fabulous. You have to have the banana cream pie, even if you don't like bananas. It's to die for.😋

They put butter and mayo on your sandwich and that's it. I personally loved it but you may want some lettuce and other stuff. They do have a bar w pasta salad and pickled veggies you can help yourself to. The outside area was the prettiest I've seen.

I came here once with the old owners with a group of people. The old owner had a conversation with one person at my table but basically ignored the rest of us. I saw in an article that it was bought by someone else. Decided to wait a while to go back. Went on a Friday night since I heard they were serving pulled pork sandwiches. New owners were there mingling with everyone. The pulled pork was really good but the bbq sauce is what made it. I’m liking the direction the new owners are taking. Can’t say for sure when I’ll be back but I’m glad I gave it a second chance.

This place is a great sandwich shop. They have sandwiches and salads and pie. I had the pastrami sandwich & potato salad. They are only open m-f from 11-3. It is a hole in the wall, family owned place that only the locals know about. All of their seating is outside, but they have plenty of umbrellas and awnings. Good to get there early to ensure a table.

Backstreet is a hidden treasure with delicious sandwiches and a delightful ambiance. Since it opened I have enjoyed going and bringing friends and family. Parking is an issue, but worth walking. Since Covid-19 things are a bit off, and like every restaurant in town, staff is shorthanded, but I'll keep going. ❤
