I’ve called numerous times just trying to get a hold on someone, anyone in the office to simply get a medication refilled. I’m always on hold until I reach the 5 minute max wait time and it goes through their voicemail each and every time. I’m lucky if someone picks up. Doctor Ho has been good to us so far but their has to be a change for patients trying to get a hold of this clinic...

This place is a joke. The furniture is torn and old. The staff is rude. They make you wait and never return calls. Dr. Ho is a joke. Also Dr Chen is a joke. Called me at 8 am to yell at me . Never in my life has a Doctor. Called to personally confront me. He lost his cool. The only time I get a quick response. Filing a claim. Your pain management is a scam.

Update 8/18/2022: The response posted by this licensed Physician is a clear violation of The Federal HIPAA Act as well as Californias Privacy Laws, but I'm sure this Physician already knows this. I'm giving a deadline of Friday August 19th, 2022 by 5:00pm to completely remove the response or I will pursue legal action against Pain Mangement Specialty Group specifically Dr. Chiwai Chan and file a complaint with both The Medical Board of California and The Federal Goverment. All I can is WoW! I've been a patient here coming up on 4 years and havent had any real major issues until today. I even wrote a positive review for this office a few years ago. In 4 years I've had 6 different Dr's, all but 1 were great. Recently I had Michelle, who was terrific, wonderful and compassionate and she left in March or April/22. Then I got Theresa, which she was also wonderful and compassionate. She left in June/22. She told me she was leaving at our last appointment and I would be getting a new lady Dr, but I didn't get her name. Thr other day I got a call from the receptionist, she said she had quit and the office director, Dr. Chan I think his name was, would be calling me to do a phone follow up appointment instead of a in office visit. I have never dealt with a more ruder, arrogant, condescending Dr in my life. He didn't call anywhere near the time I was given and he said he had to call when it was convenient for him(rude thing to say)! He belittled, attempted to call me a liar, just all around a very, very arrogant man! It was more like an interrogation than a medical appointment. As I sit here, I'm thinking of the convo and it just keeps going around and around in my head how bad the situation was. I think it may be time to find a new Dr or even look into any legal action that can be taken(it was that bad)! I'm starting to think the reason why this office can't keep any of their Dr's, is because of this man.

Dr. Valerie Hillis is absolutely the worst doctor in orange county! First of all she doesn't listen very well & when I tried to get her to explain what she was saying in terms I can understand she just walked out of the room & left me there & I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. So after several minutes I left the room & asked at the desk what was going on. To top things off when it was time for my pain meds refill, I called the pharmacy to ask why I didn't receive them and they said the doctor didn't order them. I asked the doctor why she didn't refill them & she lied to me saying that she did. Then after a month with no pain meds & confronting Dr. Hillis she ordered them but the pharmacy said they couldn't refill them. When I asked why they referred me to the doctor. So trying to get a hold of a doctor or to get answers to your questions is like pulling eye teeth. I used the portal, the website & the phone. I went back & forth with the pharmacist until I finally found out that Dr. Hillis violated my HIPPA rights & called the pharmacy & revealed information about me. The information I spoke about above that I didn't understand & I thought was wrong, but wasn't explained clearly to me, therefore the pharmacy refused to fill my pain medicine prescriptions any longer. She lied to my face when I confronted her about this. She had no reason to call the pharmacy, she did this to me for reasons unknown by me & broke the law by doing so. I ended up having to spend $35 to get my records from this office so I could prove to myself that it was the doctor lying & not the pharmacist & that I didn't get it wrong. It was all there in black & white! Dr. Hillis is a liar that violates patients HIPPA rights! I had to change my pharmacy & change my insurance to get rid of Dr. Hillis & get a better & more honest pain management. Changing all these things is not easy & takes a couple of months to get it up & running. I would think twice before getting your pain management from this place because there are way better doctors & better choices out there.

Can’t call them, I also got the overwhelming feeling the doctor did not like me which doesn’t matter but I don’t feel he put as much effort into finding the source of my pain and said I wouldn’t need to come back. I had other issues but he didn’t bother or give me a chance to bring them up or bother to refer me to physical therapy.

Very unprofessional, after trying for 3 weeks to get a hold of the person I needed to speak to finally got an appointment for 2pm was there 30 minutes early to do any paperwork they needed, 3 o’clock and still no appointment. I had to leave because I had this pre arranged with my employer and it should’ve only taken a couple minutes, would not recommend this place to anyone

Dr. Desai was very attenitve, concerned, ostensible, compassionate. He new just what I needed for a speedy recovery. The progress I have enjoyed was due too his efforts and the pain medicine he recomended, this is what enabled me too walk again. Im extremely gratefull too him to say the least and would recommend Dr. Deasi you would be luckly to have him as your physician! Thank you soooo much Larry Uzarski
