I understood the assignment. Read most of the reviews, went to the website. Braced for rude volunteers and bad food at the cafe. My family had a great time: serene, clean, quiet, stunning structures and guests, food was good, souvenirs ample, and friendly, watchful volunteers (no photos inside the mandir!). I was able to attend a 11:15 service. Gorgeous marble carvings throughout (encased in protective glass at touch level). Closed my eyes, the music brought me to tears, very cleansing. I enjoyed taking photos for >15 groups and pairs, and >50 of my own. Great way to spend 2-3 hours on Sunday and immerse in beauty, music (a fellow was playing a flute on the grounds--added to the beauty), and learn about the six swamis. Need to ditch the kids/teens to slowly soak in the experience. ;)

So divine. Glad I visited this temple, its beyond beautiful. Feels like you are in some other part of USA. Its calming and lots of people visit it for its architecture. You are not allowed any photography inside. They also have a store with all the Indian snacks and food. Good quality stuff and nominal price.

This is one of the largest Hindu temples in USA. Highlight is of course the sandstone temple structure and all of the carvings and designs in and around the temple. English names are inscribed below the major Hindu gods. Before entering the temple structure, you should wear conservative clothes and take off your shoes. There is a cafe selling Indian drinks and snacks as well as a couple of entrees of Indian curry dishes. Welcome center has beautiful interior lobby, visitor center, and attached to it are bookstore, Indian snack and treats store. There are tables outside to sit down and taste the goodies.

First time coming here, my girl took me here 😊 For those who have never been here, it is an amazing experience to come see and experience. Please be respectful of their culture. Once you are inside the temple, on the second floor please do not take any pictures or be too loud. Respect the peace and environment. What to expect here: Wonderful scenery A lot of parking spaces Plenty of amazing places to take pictures if your with your love one Before you go to the second you will have to take your shoes off and take the elevator to the second floor. You will have to cover your knees You will have to cover your top- bring a hoodie to and long pants if your a man. Enjoy the view and read the history behind the scenery. Friendly staff to guide you Once you are done enjoying the second floor , come down to the first floor and enjoy more history and pictures on how the temple was made. The entry is free so is the parking 😊 Once we were done with the tour we continue to take more pictures outside and grabbed some vegetarian food.

The BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in California is highly esteemed by the Swaminarayan Hindu community and is renowned for its grandeur. It serves as a center for spirituality and culture, providing a peaceful environment for worship, meditation, and community gatherings. The temple showcases remarkable architecture, including intricate marble and woodwork, vibrant frescoes, and exceptional craftsmanship. Inside, you’ll discover areas dedicated to deities, prayer halls, assembly halls, and educational facilities. When we visited on a weekend, there was no waiting time, and admission was free. We spent about an hour exploring the entire temple and learning about its architectural history in the exhibition downstairs, which provides a comprehensive overview of the temple’s construction and other relevant information. There’s food court inside where you can get food, sweets & other stuff on the way to exit. Overall, it is unquestionably one of the top attractions in California, and I look forward to returning in the future to witness the fountain show, which is currently closed.

This place is magnificent! One of the most beautiful temples I've been to. The architecture is just splendid with a lot of intricate work. There is adequate parking and entry is free. There was no parking charge as well. Double check the timings before visiting as the temple ( only the inner temple with deity) closes between noon and evening.

Hello everyone. Baps Shri Swaminarayan Mandir is a wonderful place to visit. If this is your first time. Please visit their website for rules and guidelines, or simply ask the help at the entrance gate. There is plenty of parking surrounding the building. There is a gift shop with plenty of interesting items to choose from. I recommend the Cafe for some food before exploring the grounds. If you re lost and not sure where to start, the employees are very helpful and friendly. Thank you for reading my review. Please follow me on Google maps and check out the places I visit.

Pretty worth-it stop off the highway. If you like art/culture, stop by to see. The outside of the building is cool but the inside is also completely carved marble. No shoes or photos inside! Stop by the visitor center to check in first- its also beautiful. Theres also an exhibit and cafe with hot and packaged food! Free parking, donation entry.

This place is just AMAZING. The best is in the details. Everything has been done by hand either in wood or in stone by volunteers in India. I have been looking the place by far through the freeway and I always wanted to come and since my sister was in town, it was the first place I took her to visit. Really it felt like the shortest trip to India... From Los Angeles. Yes, don't think about it, just go and you will see by yourself

Love this temple. Unbelievable workmanship, the hand carved structure has so much details that you can admire all day and still come back for more. They have a very nice gift shop inside where you can purchase religious and decorative items. They also have a snack shop that sells variety of fresh Indian snacks. Currently due to Covid, the visiting hours fluctuate. Please call ahead to confirm visiting hours.

The Temple is an architectural marvel! I had a great first experience when I took my family to see it. Everyone is kind and welcoming. The food served at the restaurant was very tasty. I definitely will be returning soon! If you plan on visiting please take a look at the visitor guidelines and visiting hours on the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir Los Angeles website.

Very beautiful and incredible place! It's like you are in a different country. The stones and carvings are done in an unbelievable way. I am just stunned. You can also buy some Indian snack or yogurt drinks from the nearby shop or souvenirs. Would definitely recommend for everyone especially for the people interested in Indian culture.

These photos are horrible. Must see in person! First off, how lucky are we to have such an incredible place so close to home. This place was absolutely stunning. The intricate details of everything. From outside in. From top to bottom. Each sculpture had it's own detailed story just by looking at it. We went at night to watch the lights spectacular show however, we will return on a beautiful sunny day. Being able to see this place during the daytime will surely be a wonderful experience of its own. Beautiful place for photos. No shoes allowed inside. You leave shoes at the bottom of the stairs. Thankfully, I was very pleased to see how respectful visitors were throughout the event.

A piece of India in Chino Hills. This is an awesome place to admire outstanding architecture, delicious Indian food and visiting the beautiful Mandir. The temple is free to visit but please be respectful and dress accordingly. Inside the Mandir, videos and photos are not allowed, but outside you're free to do it. Last week, we were lucky to visit it and know about the Diwali Celebration. Usually, the temple is magnificent by itself but with all the lights for the festivities, it was breathtaking.

No words to say!!! What an amazing wonder of architecture! Each and every corner of this building is made with handcrafted marbles and stones. You can see the photos from the outside mostly in online. But the inside of the temple we can’t take pictures. Also the view inside is incredible! White Italian Marbles handcrafted looks is marvelous! It’s absolutely like a wonder. When you go, must walk around the temple courtyard and you can see the the beautiful different angles from different directions, that’s awesome.

This place is amazing! Words cannot describe its beauty. It is truly a gem. Please look up their dress code and be respectful. Even my 10-14 year old grandkids loved it. Also, just a few blocks away is a replica of the exterior of an Egyptian temple (in a shopping center)!

Beautiful temple, sacred energy. It is a great experience to go there. The store has fair prices and the vegetarian buffet is good. I wish people won't take it as a tourist attraction and talk loudly when visiting.

This is a beautiful Indian Hindu temple!! A must visit place for anyone - I have seen many times non-Indian families visiting the place and admiring its beauty. Pay close attention to temple hours if you wish to visit the prayer house/temple as well as it is closed in the afternoon before it reopens in the evening. They have on site vegetarian cafe that sells hot Indian meals as well as dry snacks - all at a very reasonable price. Tip: entry is free however on the weekends/holidays parking can be a bit difficult.

Absolutely stunning. We traveled to visit the temple just for a small sight seeing drive on a Sunday afternoon and it did not disappoint. Admission was free as was parking. All those who were working that day to care for the temple were so friendly and helpful answering any questions about the amazing architecture as well as general info. There is a cafeteria style café off of the gift shop, we didn't stop in as we had just eaten before our visit but the aroma was very tempting. We'll definitely be back to try the cuisine. Overall, for sure worth checking out.

This place is an architectural marvel. I've seen nothing like this temple in the bay area. Huge area and temple is located in the center. Everyone needs to enter through a visitor center - where there is a small store which sells idols and attached is another store which sells snacks and grocery. The main temple is beautifully organized with ram, Krishna and Shiva idols and statues of all the successors of swaminarayan. Felt very peaceful. Would definitely recommend visiting this place irrespective of religion and beliefs. Some other random info: There is ample space for parking. No photography allowed inside.

It's a beautiful and elegant temple near LA. It is spread in a very huge space and serves as a very good stopover point while travelling from SFO Bay area to San Diego as it runs a great kitchen with several variety of authentic Indian meals, beverages and snacks. Darshan timings are very limited (it's closed 12-4 pm) so we haven't been able to get darshan inspite of visiting twice. One can still access cafeteria and outside premises. It has sit out area and clean restroom. Parking is free within the complex. The temple also allows private events for small ceremonies and gatherings. Must visit.

It’s a Hindu temple. Very beautiful and peaceful. Please maintain silence on your visit. Respect their culture. If possible please wear the clothes which cover your maximum body parts.( not mandatory but advisable). Remove your shoes before your enter into temple. It’s an architectural marvel. Very nicely made. You may find good vegetarian food and some snacks item. Plenty of free parking . Nice arrangement. If you are looking for nice wooden temple for your pooja room, you may purchase one from their visitor center.

Beautiful temple. Peaceful place, each and every rock of the temple is beautiful carved. Shayona is a food court cum store where you can buy purely vegetarian food. Photography is not allowed inside the temple. Very clean. There is also a gift store. Before visiting is the timings. We will surely visit again.

Absolutely stunning. We bought stuff for mandir and was beautiful and not expensive at all. Then ate their cafe. And food was hot and hit with everyone. The madir is so stunning. The attention to detail, the peace ones feels. Difficult to explain. Just go again and again

Such a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The people who work there are so friendly and welcoming which makes the experience that much more special. You can take tours, go inside the temple (it’s a must), take photos outside (not inside), their cafeteria serves really yummy vegetarian food. You truly feel like you are in India.

  • 5/5 Viraj G. 2 years ago on Google
Very beautiful place to enjoy calmness and peacefulness. Strongly advise to check out Darshan timings before heading there as those are very restricted. The mandir has its own store, kitchen and visitors center and one can find some authentic Indian delicacies here. The place is perfect for outdoor photoshoot as well but don't know if prior permission is needed. Free parking is available on the premises.

I had an incredible experience visiting the BAPS temple in Chino Hills. The serene atmosphere is truly captivating, offering a peaceful retreat away from the bustling city. The visitor center boasts an impressive collection of idols, and the temple itself, both inside and out, is simply breathtaking. A must-visit for anyone seeking tranquility and beauty.

  • 5/5 SteDubs 1 year ago on Google
We spent about an hour and half here checking out the grounds. The visitor center is filled with ornate wood carvings. There is a shop next to the entrance that was filled with Indian treats, I'm not sure if this was special for Diwali or if it's usually there. There are no shorts, no shoes, no pictures allowed inside the actual temple. The interior of the temple has beautiful stone work all throughout. Definitely go check this place out!

  • 5/5 Avedon A. 1 year ago on Google
Another surprise gem hidden in Chino. This is quite a marvelous sight to see and explore. While the temple itself is the main attraction, with its large fountain and marble interior and sandstone walkways, it also includes a beautiful wooden carved visitor center and cafe. There’s plenty of informational material to learn about the culture and history which was surprisingly easy to follow and read through. I would easily want to return again during sunset hour for a different view altogether. Parking is free and plentiful and there’s restrooms on site as well.

  • 5/5 Lina L. 1 year ago on Google
Great experience visiting the temple during one of the Diwali celebrations. It was wonderful and at the same time humbling to know how much the people praised and celebrated their Gods. The temple was packed for very good reasons but there was respect and kindness offered to everyone by everyone. I will plan a visit during a day when there are no celebration to experience the temple at a different light. Blessings to the Hindu community.
