I went through heart of florida with my third pregnancy and they told me that it's ok if I have my first appointment when I'm ten weeks. I ended up miscarrying. I am now pregnant again and called to make an appointment and they won't see me til april. This is ridiculous that pregnant women have to wait a whole month or so for an appointment. I told them about my miscarriage and they said well I can call someone else to get a sooner appointment.

My pregnant wife has been trying to make an appointment here over and over, for almost a month, with no luck. They needed her records from TN where we moved from but since they got them we've gotten NOTHING but the run-around, they will never call us back, always have some excuse as to why they still can't schedule her an appointment. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE, ESPECIALLY if they're a new patient trying to get an appointment. All I can say is GOOD LUCK.

Throughout our entire pregnancy so far, my spouse has had some serious concerns that she wanted help with. We try calling repeatedly over the course of days and get the same recycled excuse. "We will let her know and she will call you but she's busy right now." We have 10 weeks left and we have never had a single question answered. We have left voice-mails, left a message with the nurses, and tried multiple numbers provided but this facility is useless and I would recommend anyone to keep searching because I promise this is not the place you want to go if you want to feel safe and happy with your prenatal care.

Definitely not a place for first time moms. They never explained to be about vitamins and what to eat and what not to eat. The medical assistant was rude and unprofessional. Nobody greets you when you walk in, no one asks you how you're doing, except the doctor. The doctors are nice but they seem very rushed. The ultrasound tec also seemed in a hurry, and wasn't too friendly. I didn't get my ultrasound pictures until weeks after I had the appointment. Not the best place for first time moms.

I paid a copay in cash that they never put on my account, but told me i had a credit and let me use it twice. Now that I have a balance on my account and have tried to settle it but only coming in and paying with a check to have further proof that i’ve paid my copays, they do not want to schedule another appointment stating they should have never scheduled the first one that i had to cancel. Everyone makes a mistake but points it at the next person. When i try to speak to their billing department I get sent to a voice mail. Every visit has came with a rude employee.

Since most people leave reviews only when they had a bad experience, I thought it was my duty to leave my review with my amazing experience. I had an ectopic pregnancy and met Dr. Alkass at 2:00 AM in the Heart Of Florida Hospital. He had to come in to do an emergency surgery, basically to save my life because if left untreated I could have died. Anyways, he was confident, and made me feel comfortable in a time when I was not only extremely emotional at the loss of my baby but also scared for my life and surgery - and he somehow made me feel more at ease. Also, all of the nurses were fantastic at Heart Of Florida. The procedure went well, and he checked on me later that day in the hospital. I recently had my 2 week followup appointment after surgery in the Heart of Florida OB/GYN office. I literally had a notebook full of questions to ask him and he answered them all with a smile. I was such an emotional mess during those 2 weeks after surgery and after my checkup appointment with Dr. Alkass I felt so much better. I trust his medical opinion and I appreciate his professionalism as well as his ability to make me feel at ease. Whenever we get pregnant again, we will be calling Heart of Florida OB/GYN to see Dr. Alkass for the entire pregnancy.

Staff, quick to get people in and out, if you try to call any of the numbers for the three offices the calls are directed to the Davenport office? The receptionist at Winter haven is on the phone ocasioalnally but when ever i ask to be directed there i get hung up on. 8 1/2 months pregnant and it still hasnt changed. You just have to keep calling and try not to get aggrivated.

My doctor was Dr. Susie and when my daughter was delivered by Dr. Long she became my primary doctor from there on out. I have had nothing but good experiences with this doctors office. There are a few downsides to this office such as the wait time and the front desk workers are not very friendly. All of the nurses are wonderful and the two doctors I have seen were great. I have been to the Davenport office and it was a nightmare! Do not ever go to that office. The Winter Haven office is the best and they will make you feel completely comfortable and right at home. Unfortunately I moved and won't be using this doctors office anymore. I hope to find an office just as good... Standards have been set high with this one!

This place cares about the health of the mother and child. They make sure you know what is going on. You can ask as many questions that you want. There aren’t any dumb questions. Me being the dad they keep me involved in conversation. They are very nice people. I would 100 percent recommend this obgyn.

THEY ONLY HAVE 1 PERSON WHO LISTENS TO YOU AND THEIR DRS/SURGEONS THINK THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO NOT STERILIZE YOU UPON YOUR REQUEST. My daughter has gone through them twice now. I begged her not to use them when she got pregnant the second time ,because they refused to give her a tubal because she was "too young and only had 1 child ((that had dangerously low iron upon birth, FYI if your craving ice (think extra large fountain drink cup) apparently 2-3 times a day during third trimester make sure you get your baby's iron tested.)(that they had to cut out of her because he couldn't pass through her pelvic bones because they didn't widen like they should))". BTW Florida does Not have an age restriction nor do they state how many kids you must have. If your menstruating you have the right to be sterilized as long as you sign the forms more than 72 hrs but less than 180 days before surgery (which she did). She knew during her first pregnancy that her body did not like being pregnant. They barely listened to her and she chaulked it up to being a first time mom so went to them this time. It has been the same treatment. They do Not Listen to concerns. She tried telling them from 2 or 3 months pregnant she was having issues breathing, no energy and her heart races just from talking or walking short distances. They just kept telling her 'well you're pregnant it's normal'. Continue this for an additional 3 months and she finally gets a person who actually listens and has her go in for blood work. She comes back with hypothyroidism (levels high enough she might have heart issues for life) and they still don't bother to listen when she tries to tell them that the medicine has made a little improvement, don't retest her blood until she manages to get that person who listened again. Now on top of this she still has to beg a DR to give her a tubal. Thank God FL has made it to where she can just keep calling Drs until she finds one willing but for God's sake they're already going to have her cut open to take this baby out. Just freaking do the tubal. Our body not yours.
