My first experience with Blueground was really positive. My second was not ideal. My most recent rental had some cleanliness problems when I moved in. The apartment also needed some repairs. It would be nice if occasional maintenance visits were made between tenants to see if the apartments need any deep cleaning or repairs. Blueground did eventually move me to a new unit because the shower was leaking which I appreciated. I have also found that the quality of the linens is very variable between units. Sometimes you get blueground-brand cotton sheets which are awesome and sometimes you get polyester. This is not a deal breaker by any means but they do advertise "luxury linens."

Excellent, well furnished accommodation. Centrally located in downtown Chicago, within walking distance of grocery stores, pharmacies and buses. Beautiful view of Lake Michigan and a walking distance to the lake.

Writing this review to report the shady and fraudulent practices from Blueground. I made a booking for a rental unit on their website and paid the full amount in advance to confirm the reservation. On the day my lease was supposed to start, they sent me an email saying that the reservation has been cancelled. But I saw that the rental amount (>$5000) has still been deducted from my bank account. I emailed their team and got a delayed response asking me to submit my banking information to process the refund. After I submitted the bank details, I still had to email them multiple times to confirm if they have processed the refund. They finally told me (10 days after the booking was cancelled) that the refund has been processed but i saw that they only partially refunded the amount and kept more than 1000$ as some sort of deposit/hidden fees. Is this even legal ?? I don't understand how can blueground cancel a reservation (leaving me without any place to stay), delay processing the refund (which is greater than $5000 total amount), and then not process the complete refund. Its been 1 month and I have emailed them countless times but they haven't given me a straight answer on when I would get my refund. I would highly recommend staying away from such business who harass their customers.

Great apartment with everything you could ask for and need. The welcome boxes w/supplies and snacks were a nice touch. There was miscommunication with Blueground and NEMA on the first day of my stay and I was forced to find other accommodations. That was HIGHLY inconvenient, once resolved the rest of the stay was relatively smooth. View was nice

My experience with Blueground was incredible! Check in was seamless, and I was nervous that the apartment was not going to look like the photos, but it was exactly as described! It was beautiful and the team even set me up with a welcome kit that had a stack full of snacks, and detergent, hand soap, cleaning products, paper towels, even toilet paper! The team was quick to respond to any request or questions I had about the unit both by email and telephone! Check out was easy and I would definitely recommend Blueground for your next long term stay!

I have stayed at a Blueground apartment in downtown Seattle for 3.5 months and have only good things to say about my experience. Everything starting from my agent who helped me find my perfect apartment, the smooth check-in, ending with the handing over the apartment was as easy as it can be. The apartment was exactly as communicated and had everything you need to literally just show up and start living. The support staff have gone above and beyond to help solve my issues during and EVEN AFTER MY STAY. I was initially skeptical about the company having read a few negative experiences on different sites, but I can say now that Blueground is going to my preferred housing solution going forward.

500 LSD. Location, location, location! No better place to stay in the summer in Chicago. Awesome building and great amenities. Great staff as well. We’ll definitely be back next summer! Useful tip: Give the front desk your phone number and email address so they email you directly when you have an Amazon package delivered or when you’re expecting a visitor.

Great stay with Blueground at the NEMA building. Great apartment, well furnished, clean, great views and exactly as advertised in the pictures. Building was also great with excellent amenities especially health and fitness and communal workspaces with great views. All in all a wonderful stay.

Great location and building. Had everything I needed when moving in and only had to purchase a few extra small things. Only complaint is that you don't get access to the building's app, which is used to claim deliveries of packages. Instead you have to wait for Blueground to forward pickup codes for you, which occasionally took up to a day after package was delivered. Other than that, it was a great stay. Room was about the size of a large hotel room. Had a nice kitchen and bathroom (and laundry in unit), and had a great view of downtown. The area is nice with tons of restaurants and stores nearby, including a Target one block away for basic living needs. Overall very positive experience and would recommend this spot to someone looking for a short or medium length stay in Chicago.

I have done corporate housing for years, worked in management consulting and have always had a great experience. When looking for housing in Chicago for my MBA I came across Blueground, which seemed to have pretty nice furnished apartments. What drew me in most were the good reviews about good customer service support. After moving in on Jan 1st into their apartment in Chicago (at the Fisher Building) I was taken aback to say the least. The cleanliness was subpar - with the sheets, towels and floor all not just unclean, but also torn, stains on the walls, and sticky. Specific to this location (the Fisher Building) the train is SUPER noisy and is right outside your window/building, and runs every 5 minutes, with the announcers making loud announcements regarding the train schedule and delays... this is not something ear plugs or a fan can fix. Lastly, the fees are insane. Utilities are $300 PER MONTH, which for a 5 months stay came out to $1,800 ... crazy. Then there is a $450 cleaning fee after you leave, and then there are up charged taxes on top of that. And this is with every apartment you book... anywhere. So you're basically looking at $1K+ PER MONTH additional to what you see on their website. The utility and cleaning fee are just ridiculous to say the least. Lastly, when I reached out to Blueground a day after moving in to help me relocate or terminate early (with a 30 day notice per their policy) they had hidden a clause in the agreement that they will charge $5K+ FOR EACH MONTH if terminated early, and not the $2400 which I was initially paying. Which meant that even if I moved out after giving them a 30 day notice, I'd be out $8K... FOR JUST ONE MONTH. Borderline SCAM. I'm still surprised to read so many good reviews, I'm assuming a lot of them were shorter term rentals like a week or so, and then the rest were from family/friends of management/employees. If you are a professional, in school or someone who just appreciates good customer service, please look elsewhere. I guarantee you the annoyance and bad customer service is not worth it. I'd rather pay a bit more to just have a decent experience than pay $15K to have a HORRIBLE experience. Never. Again. I will post this to my universities page (UChicago/Booth) and other groups to warn people about Blueground since you're unable to see reviews about specific properties and that is why they've been relatively under the radar. I also asked a few people who used them in the past and the company allegedly gets some bad reviews removed, which makes sense given that 4+ stars just does not make sense for what they offer.

I am very happy with my move to Chicago. This is my first experience with Blueground. And it was amazing. The apartment is very clean. Everything is there for a comfortable life. I was especially surprised by the box with various things for the house, which is very necessary from the first days of the move and creates even more comfort (coffee, tea, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, etc.) Thank you Blueground for my peace of mind and no vanity when moving!
