Great beach to sit and relax. Bring a book or listen to some music and just be. Very quiet beach, clean and very open. Bring a pet, the family or enjoy the day alone.

Hidden gem. Don't come. Waters always cold and smells like ketchup.

My favorite of the Chicago beaches. Parking is easier. The crowd is family friendly for the most part, but chill. When I most recently went, a guy played a piano for an hour or so which, when I could hear it, added a great deal to the overall ambiance.

A very beautiful and well maintained beach. Free entry, super clean amazing views. People there were very sensible and were maintaining proper social distancing guidelines. We enjoyed our picnic here.

Great beach, but the social distancing ambassadors ruined it.

So fun! We loved looking at tiny shells, polished β€œsea” (lake) glass, friendly ring-billed gulls, and of course the waves. The view of the skyline is nice too.

Been in Chicago over 20 years and first time here - it’s the best beach in Chicago for family - not overcrowded and life guard is alert and perfect amount of space.

Daytime is good. But leave before dark. Lots of homeless people there

A lovely place to swim, walk your dog, and catch the sunset. Easily accessible by foot, though there's not much parking available for cars. The beach is close to many restaurants and coffee shops, so you can also get some food or drinks when you're done!

Really nice beach on a hot summer day, it's fun to look at the murals on the steps! Can get a little crowded since it's in a pretty accessible area

As a self-identified beach snob from the east coast, I’ve really struggled to find a good beach here in Chicago, until I came here. It’s pretty big so you aren’t on top of people which is important to me, and the water is really clear. There’s a nice park that fills up with people grilling too.

Great little throw back type beach! Not crowded, little hut for refreshments, and a playground. Felt very relaxing and fun with the kids! Cheap parking too. Hate even writing a review because I want to keep it to myself !

A great treat for family fun and entertainment. The beach is clean well kept and has plenty of beauty. The wild birds allow for a great appreciation of nature and wildlife mingling together. The playground is clean well kept and has plenty of safe features. The picnic area offers plenty of shade picnic benches and park benches to relax and or cool down. The restrooms are not the best but not the worst either. The views in the early morning ate magnificent and worthy of a postcard or a page in National Geographic. Attend! !!

Great place to run, relax on the grass/beachfront, or to take your kids! Compared to the other major beaches, Loyola Beach is very small and intimate, hence it's very family friendly.

Absolutely love this space 😍 great spot to veiw sunset or sunrise, air traffic waiting their turn to land, the tidal movement of the waves, etc Many ppl walk their dogs along the beach and they are good about keeping their dog's poop picked up. Not a lot of trash. Lots of rocks that may be sharp on kid's feet. Water shoes are a nice idea! Rocky and pebbling beach with lots of sand, too. Trails with prairie planting just adjacent, as well as a pier to walk out onto.

Loved it. Clean beach except for people leaving behind some of their garbage. Good lifeguards they are at all times looking out for everyone’s safety. Playground it’s really nice kids enjoyed it very much. Many people not having their dogs leashed its somewhat at turn down for me.

Beautiful beach but extremely hard to get parking. Spaces fill up quite quickly.

Maybe growing up around this neighborhood is what keeps me coming back here. It's not the best beach in Chicago or the cleanest, but I like that fact that I know where to go and how to get around. It is a little hard finding a good parking space but it's just the same everywhere else you go, specially on the weekends.

Great relaxing beach in Rogers Park. Very clean and not too crowded. If driving parking isn't the best, but it's right off the CTA red line!

The beach was pretty good. Parking was $2/hour (some car didn't have their parking ticket on their dashboard though). There were a lot of people enjoying the water with their family. There were good amount of space for folks to play soccer too. The bad thing was we found some broken glasses inside the sand. It was my 3 years old son who found them. I use my tile for size comparison. Please be careful and don't litter.
