Absolutely amazing place. Dr. Romo and Vet tech Elisabeth were incredible. We went with a sick guinea pig and they are both so kind, understanding, and knowledgable. Dr. Romo took his time and answered every single question I had and I truly appreciate it. Amazing doctor! Elisabeth went over all the medications and how to accurately measure the dosage and marked each dosage. She is so great! Starlight is already feeling better! I would not go anywhere else ever again!! They truly care about animals and it shows from the moment you call till you leave. Thank you so so much!

Dr Rolfe and her staff are amazing. She has cared for my rabbits for 8 years now and till the very end she was the best vet ever. Caring, loving, responsive to questions and very supportive.

Dr. Romo is the absolute BEST! There is no one else we trust or feel comfortable with for the care of our beloved bunnies. He shows compassion & treats all our babies with the most genuine care. Marianne is the sweetest & most welcoming person. Nowadays finding a place with amazing people like this is rare. A million stars - I’ve been to a couple other vets in the palm beach county area but this is the only one I’ll ever take my pets to now! My chameleon had a vitamin deficiency causing eye issues. I took her to a vet ER and they only gave me eye drops that didn’t treat the real issue so they didn’t help. Dr. Romo treated the actual issue and now she’s healthy They really care and give you tips to make your husbandry and feeding routines perfect. Don’t try anywhere else this is the best vet in the county

We are so lucky to have found Dr. Romo and his team at The Bird & Exotic Hospital. Our little girl is our whole world, so it means everything to us to find a place that we can bring her that will take the best care of her and keep her safe. Dr. Romo is so knowledgeable, caring, and helpful. He is so kind to our little girl and so very patient with her paranoid parents! Frida, his assistant and office manager, is great and also so helpful. The techs and assistants are amazing, and Maryann at the front desk is the sweetest. The office is clean and cosy. Our little one has a lot of medical issues so it’s so important to us to have a team we can trust and rely on. Thank you Dr. Romo for being a part of that team and taking care of our baby!

By far the best exotic we've ever been to. We drive 45 minutes to come here because the care is magnitudes better than anything we've received anywhere else. All of the doctors and nurses are amazing. We used to see Dr. Romo at coral springs animal hospital, and we followed him all the way here because he really is that amazing

Seriously one of the best vets in the area for small furry animals, birds and exotics. As a owner of fancy rats I NEVER get treated with disrespect or ignorance. These people work longer than their posted hours on a daily basis to take care of the animals in their care. The doctor is awesome, compassionate, fair and honest. I have been coming here for well over ten years and I recommend them to everyone. These people go above and beyond. They also board, sell food and bedding, which is nice and convenient. If I could give them more than five stars I would. You don't find a vet like her anymore and I have experienced my fair share of vets.

Couldn’t say enough great things! My rabbit Luci had a mass on her stomach and from the consult exam to the day of surgery (even post surgery) the staff was there for me and Luci every step of the way. Dr. Romo and his team did amazing and Maryann at the front desk is the sweetest. Thank you all!

My 3 bunnies and I love all of the staff at The Bird & Exotic Hospital! They are truly specialists at rabbit veterinary care and always take such great care of my babies.

The condescending attitude from their front desk staff is hilarious. If you’re a new pet owner forget it. They conveniently forget to mention critical info when they set up appointments for first-time customers, and that’s just it, you’re just a dollar sign to these people. They refer you to the wrong specialists if it’s a real emergency and then they pray that you’re not intelligent enough to complain about it. And when you do complain they don’t hold themselves accountable to their bad recommendations. Like I mentioned earlier, I had a good laugh once I had an appointment with a decent vet and was then able to make comparisons. They’re desperate for new business so maybe give them a chance if you like to be insulted and overcharged. LOL!

Genuine, kind, and focuses on any pet like they're family, while at the same time, making the pet owner feel like they're at home. Always have pleasant visits here, sometimes even at a moments notice, even during times that may not be easy.

Wow! What an amazing experience! The Bird and Exotic Hospital is the best, hands down! Doctor Rue is extremely knowledgeable, very detail oriented and attentive. The vet techs were amazing as well. The front desk staff were also amazing! I didn't have an appointment, and I called late in the day and they were booked, but the doctor told them to have me come on in anyway. My bearded dragon had been acting funny. They triaged him as soon as I walked in the door. The techs did their part in gathering info about him from me and then a little while later Dr. Rue came out with good news and shocking news..she said " he is a she, and pregnant!" Lmao, I was and still am, in shock! Needless to say, they took very good care of him and me while we were there. I will continue to go to The Bird and Exotic Hospital. They are amazing to say the least. 💯

We have had Dr. Romo as our veterinarian for over 3 years now. We have followed him from the previous facilities to his the current clinic he owns, and there is a distinct reason why. He is great at what he does, a thorough and investigative doctor, who is also incredibly kind and thoughtful. He is always striving to do what is right for his patients, and will be honest when the prognosis is not what you want it to be. My husband and I drive 90 minutes to bring our ferrets, and do so gladly because we trust him implicitly. We will continue to do so. His staff are knowledgeable and practical, while also being attentive and warm. Frida is incredible at what she does, always great with the animals and never to busy to stop and ask how the client is as well. We are very thankful to have them as our vet, knowing they are there to take care of our pets has brought great piece of mind.

I have 2 Guinea pigs . One was euthanized here and we received a nice clay paw print afterwards. My other Guinea pig came here for a checkup and nail clipping. Front desk, I think her name is Mary. She is wonderful. Very sweet professional lady. The staff is pretty nice except for one tech that rubbed me the wrong way with her delivery of information that I should have known prior to coming in for my appt. Very rude and dismissive.

We made numerous calls when our sun conures had an accident. They were the only Exotic bird hospital open on Sunday. We brought our Conure in and they tend to him within mins and handle everything in a professional and calming manner. They were very reassuring and explained everything in details on what they did and how to treat him when we take him home. Very grateful for them being open on a Sunday. Not a lot of Exotic Bird veterinary around the Palm Beach county area.

the care my pet receives here is excellent but the woman on the phone told me to be patient when asking for an estimate on my pets appointment so i could know if i was able to afford it, she laughed at me and had an overall condescending demeanor when speaking to me over the phone. she spoke to me as if i were a child, repeating herself and scoffing at my replies. i maintained a polite attitude the best i could considering i was being treated as if i were incompetent. im not pleased with the attitude this woman had. i don’t have a name or anything from her.

The Bird and Exotic hospital is amazing!! Sunday I noticed my Congo African parrot had a clear discharge coming out of his nose and I panicked. To my surprise the bird hospital was open for emergencies on Sunday, Mary Ann said bring Rigby right down. I am about 1 hour away and got there around 5. They took my bird right back. Dr. Rue was awesome! Came in and we spoke about Rigby, he had never been sick before and I have had him since 1993. They were so caring and concerned like Rigby was their own bird. I would recommend them to anyone who has a bird or an exotic pet!!

They saved our parrots life! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ! She was not able to breathe and they took her in and treated her with love care and expertise. Everyone treated us like we were family and you could tell they really cared …from answering the phone to each visit .

Love Dr. Romo- he took the time to thoroughly explain the care plan for my rabbit. Didn’t push for unnecessary procedures. Had him years ago and appreciated his level of care back then. Office staff was extremely nice. From the front desk/making the appointment to arrival- to the vet tech (forgot her name)- so kind/caring. It is very, very hard to find a good exotic specialist- they are great- well worth the 40 minute drive. Thank you!
