Delicious food(I had the beef dip, it was on a fresh bun and tasty), the staff were friendly and attentive, and the view of the lake was beautiful. My restaurant of choice next time I'm in Cowichan.

Bellini’s we’re fantastic! Bar staff was great and friendly. Good selection of beers. Had a swim down at their dock. Recommend it, as the water was so warm! Calamari wasn’t bad. Chicken bites were pretty good! Chicken was juicy and not dry. The food was alright, typical “pub” type of food. The fried chicken sand which isn’t what you think. It was encrusted with greasy taco chips, made two of us feel not so great after.

We came to this place all the way from Victoria after travelling to Port Renfrew and then to this place and with a further stop at Malahat. In principle this should have been a great trip, however locals make a place worth returning and on this occasion we witnessed only negativity that really put us off from returning, as a mad local drove fast with his pick up truck near our rented Nissan Rogue to send stones flying to our windscreen creating a long crack growing by the minute; after finishing our meal we noticed how the crack was 2 new cracks to the point we had to travel to Victoria airport and change the car, which of course cost us extra. To add insult to injury, returning via Malahat, where there are several speed changes in a few minutes, that is also a trap where local police takes great advantage of, especially if you do not have a local car plate, as most local cars continue to drive fast, as detailed in my other reviews. I guess that is why I did not enjoy the meal here, I could not finish it, besides not being able to put up with the dirty table, dirty toilets which normally I ignore if the meal is great. I could not even finish a meal. And that is how locals make people stay away from a place, however beautiful it might be.

We went to Jakes for a great lunch/dinner. The service was lovely and the meals tasted very good. The Ceasar Salad was one of my favorites- it's so good. We really enjoyed the food and time :)

I love going for dinner at this place specially to catch up the sunset. Food is really good but the patio at sunset by the lake is magical. It can get chilly though (you would be right by the water and wind gets chilly at night) so remember to take a jacket. I also like the patio better since inside it can get a little bit noisy. But food is worthy.

Came here a month ago. We were in the lake cowichan area and I'd heard such great things about it so I had to try. Well what a disappointment I had the butter chicken penne ( might as well have been an frozen entree) when I received my lunch it was luke warm and watery like they didn't drain noodles. My mom had the prime rib beef dip, the fries might as well have had a pound of salt on them , I like salt but not that much. We were out geocaching in the area and the bar tender working on the 3rd of Nov looked us over like we were homeless despite my mom and I talking about geocaching.. I get everyone has a bad day but to judge us cuz we had mud on our shoes and the bottom of our pant legs shame on you. WE WILL NOT BE BACK I'm one for being all clean but when you walk in and all you smell and taste in your meal is bleach real turn off..

Came here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint, was pretty darn good … we had the humbolt squid and it melted in my mouth and I seriously wanted to lick the plate after for the sauce that was drizzled over it, not sure what kind of sauce but it was delish! For entrees we had the penne Alfredo and the jacks sauté and both were AMAZING! I was kinda disappointed my fiancé didn’t pick something more “creative” off their menu and went with the penne Alfredo as I see that as “boring “ but boring it was not , I have never had such delish penne before that was cooked to perfection , often times the noodles are too hard or too mushy and this was spot on! The noodles were tender melt in your mouth and not chewy at all, sooooooo good … and the jacks sauté there really is no words except go and order it , it was different and kind of an odd mix but it works and it’s creative and unique, hands down the best meal we have had so far on our vacay … thanks for the excellent birthday meal tonight it was delish

Honestly and unfortunately it can be a hit or miss anytime you go there. The menu is great with food and drinks for any occasion... appys and shots on the patio, dinner and wine on a date night, pints and good convos at the bar with sports. But the consistency of the food, drinks and convos were always interupted by the staff and what they have going on. A slow night everything is good a slow night the next day is not good. A busy night it's all good same thing the next day it's not all good. The management needs to put a foot down and separate the working staff from the staff sitting at the bar!

The view is nice ..the food is horrible , the A and w across the street is much better food and cheaper ....what a disappointment salad was like made last week or something just nasty , burgers are premade patties from a factory so gross I could not even finish it ... If you eat here stick to things that are deep fried or just booze and enjoy view ..one of the worst restaurants in the area ...

A taco salad with no feta, a side of fries, and a black tea cost 35 dollars! It was literally mostly taco chips.....a handful of Romain, and no other veggies...a couple chunks of corn at the bottom of the plate.. most dissapointing experience eating out I think I've ever had. Never going back - you would have to pay me to go back.

Nice place by the lake. Somehow they found the perfect balance for their space between cozy and comfy. We came for dinner and it was busy but crowded. Everyone seems to be happy. Food was good. Nice and hot which is a good sign. The squash penne could have used more seasoning as it was kinda bland. My friend had the kimchi bowl and said it was pretty good. The wings are nothing to write home about but the prawns were surprisingly good. Too bad they had just ran out of squid.

Very impressed! Our first time dining here and it was a great Mother's Day dinner. Compliments to the chef (and that is a hard one to get from me). We had the penne alfredo, Jake's sautee, wontons, and crispy shrimp and it was one of the best meals we have had on this coast. A wholesome meal with a pub twist. The Alfredo was one of the best I have ever had! Service was very attentive, quick and the view/atmosphere was enjoyable. Will be back for sure.
