Horrible grocery store. Worst one on the island. Food is always rotten or expired. Fruit is always always bad. Either with mold or goes rotten from the inside out within a day. They’re prices are more expensive than any other country grocer on the island.

Nice grocery store but I was thoroughly enchanted by their natural health product section. Absolutely jam packed with very high quality and hard to find products in retail. I live in a metropolitan area and have never seen here the abundant variety they have here. High octane products like shilajit, wild yam cream, topical magnesium, Truehope mental health products, and so much more. Deep regards for the lovely person running this section. Obviously a champion of whole body health!

Country gouger is the nickname for this location, as it's prices are higher then the majority of vancouver island. There is never enough staff on. New self checkouts that I've seen open a total of 3 times in over 50 visits. Almost always only have 1 or 2 cashiers regardless of how long the line up is. I will continue to just leave without any purchases when the lineups are 7+ people with full carts.

This is the most frustrating grocery store I've experienced. We drive to Duncan once a week for groceries just to avoid this store. They clearly don't care about reviews because people have repeatedly complained about the prices and the lines. We have turned around multiple times after just walking in and seeing the lines because you know you'll be waiting in line forever. WHY is there even self checkouts when they are always off? I feel like they are just there to make people angry because they are ALWAYS turned off! The return process is glacial and outdated to say the least. If you go to other grocery stores they just scan it and it's done, but at this grocery store they have forms you and they have to fill out. Everyone in the lines looks miserable because of the waiting. Avoid it if you can cause even if you're just getting an apple you'll be waiting forever. This town really caters to tourists now and the grocery store feels similar, it's like they don't care about the people living here, they just jack up the prices. As for things that are actually good about the store that get lost in the frustration of everything else... The little cafe is the best thing this store has going for it in my opinion. The sandwiches are amazing, the peanut butter chocolate chip cookies are the best I've had, idk if they're made there or not but whoever came up with the recipe is awesome. The supplement section is pretty good and the flowers are nice but they do, indeed, die very fast sometimes.

It’s not a great place to buy flowers. I had a rough day today, and my husband decided to do something nice for me by getting flowers from Country Grocer. But it’s really hard to be happy about flowers that are old. This is the second time this has happened, and it’s really upsetting every time.

The self checkout tills are always closed for some reason? Would be great if they were open when the store is busy! Edited to add that this keeps happening, why did you waste so much money to install self serve tills that are never open? Lines backed up around the store but they remain closed
