Update:
Read
below
Exceptional
care
from
Doctors,
Nurse
Practitioners,
and
Nurses.
Appointments
do
not
feel
rushed,
calls
are
returned
promptly,
prescriptions
are
written
and
refilled
with
efficiency.
Treatment
by
staff
in
check-in/registration
is
a
disconnect
in
that
my
experience
is
almost
always
negative.
Staff
seems
apathetic
and
lilting
towards
rude.
It
has
rarely,
if
ever,
been
busy
in
the
office
prior
to
an
appointment.
During
my
last
appointment,
I
noticed
computer
printed
and
hand
written
signs
that
put
me
off.
Signs
along
the
lines
of,
MASKS
ARE
REQUIRED
AND
WE
WILL
NOT
PROVIDE
YOU
WITH
ONE.
Really?
That
policy
is
just
begging
for
a
hostile
interaction.
My
observation
is
that
the
receptionists
are
primed
for
fighting
with
patients
I
love
all
the
doctors,
nurses,
techs,
etc
and
it
would
make
for
a
nicer
experience
if
admin
staff
were
as
polite
to
me
as
I
am
to
them.
UPDATE:
I
came
in
for
a
check-up
the
first
week
of
2023.
I
was
behind
an
elderly
couple
waiting
to
check
in.
The
husband
was
a
bit
rude
and
the
receptionist
seemed
ready
to
return
the
rudeness.
Then
I
watched
as
the
receptionist
changed
her
strategy
and
began
to
“manage”
the
husband
with
polite
guidance.
He
continued
to
be
belligerent
but
the
receptionist
continued
in
her
approach
and
in
the
end,
had
the
husband
reasonably
calm.
I
was
impressed!
I
worked
in
outward
facing
customer
service
jobs
for
40+
years
and
appreciate
how
difficult
it
can
be
when
people
are
nasty
to
you.
Just
remember
that
patients
arrive
with
much
anxiety
over
their
illness,
fear
of
doctors,
fear
of
needles
and
fear
of
not
being
able
to
afford
treatment.
That
doesn’t
make
it
OK
to
abuse
the
receptionists
but
maybe
keeping
this
in
mind
will
help
receptionists
to
remember
that
the
rudeness
is
not
really
directed
at
the.
