Rating for the 4 wheeling. I think there are a couple clubs that keep the 4 wheeler and motorcycle trails in order. For those of you that do this, thank you!

Martineau Recreational Trails in Paul Bunyan State Forest offer excellent Class I & II ATV trails, plus many miles of forest roads for OHVs, and a bonus of over 90 miles of OHM trails. Be warned that the OHM only trails are for experienced motorcycle riders due to the high level of difficulty in some areas. There is a good full menu and beverage restuarant and campground located on the south side of the forest. Trails also connect to Akeley, MN.

North country trail goes through and there are a lot of nice small likes to hike around. A great place to see beaver porcupine and other critters

Lots of forest roads for newer adventure bike riders. Beautiful fall colors.

Lots of ATV trails! We spent hours driving the trails and never got bored.

Lovely, quiet forest with accessibility for ATVs, dirt bikes, and dirt roads for highway vehicles. Hiking trails including NCT. Several free camp sites, some with latrines and others with just a firepit. City folk please be aware that you won't have perfect internet / cell signal out here, and there will be bugs. Wildlife you may encounter include whitetail deer, black bears, timberwolves, coyotes, owls, and plenty game birds and fur bearers. Some of the small lakes / large ponds do have fish in them. I've never had a theft occur here yet, which is more than I can say about more popular places in the area. I will say, you can hear the highway to some extent nearly everywhere, and it's rare to go all day without hearing some gun somewhere; there are also a lot of places to shoot, including a gravel pit that sometimes has makeshift targets set up. Don't even bother during deer season, you'll wish you didn't waste the gas to fight for a spot. There's scarcely a place to park sometimes.

Great trails!!! Friendly people! What more can you ask for? Food? Then go to Stompin Ground Bar & Grill. This pic was taken at the East Stream Boat Forest Road.
