Shimmy has become my pole dance school since April, I really like the environment, which makes you feel really comfortable. Heather is an amazing teacher, and her experience is clearly visible. I would highly recommend this dance school to anyone new, there are many classes for all levels and is a very welcoming place, completely judgement free. I never thought I would have ever tried pole dancing in my life, but this school really makes me looking for it enthusiastically!

I started taking pole and lyra classes a few months ago and it's honestly such a wonderful and accepting environment. I cannot say enough good things about all of the instructors I've worked with so far, Heather Grace and Cassie are all incredibly fun and helpful to work with. Not only are the classes great fun but also a great workout! Consistency is key! I recommend buying the package of classes!

I tried my first pole dancing class and the experience was amazing. The studio is clean and organized. Heather is amazing! She took her time and explained and demonstrated the moves. She made it look so effortless. What I loved the most is how comfortable I was in a beginner class, there was 0 judgement and everyone was there to learn and have fun. Can’t wait for my next class and I will definitely be trying out other forms of dance too at this studio.

I have been going to Shimmy Shimmy for a few years now. I have started with beginners classes and now regularly take pole flow and different workshops. It was fantastic to discover this studio after moving from Queens to Long Island. Heather (owner) created an amazing atmosphere: to dance, excel, get strong, feel empowered, and have fun while doing it. I began going to the Shimmy Shimmy dance studio in the spring of last year and haven't stopped since. I had no experience in pole dancing or aerial arts, and my dance skills and flexibility were near nothing, but thanks to Heather, who is an exceptional teacher who manages to calibrate workouts so that they are accessible to everyone, I was able to improve myself a lot while having a lot of fun. Furthermore, the school's culture is extremely inclusive and welcoming. Shimmy Shimmy is an excellent choice for everyone interested in this kind of activity, regardless of previous experience.
