Great place for photography. Always a fun time for the kiddos.. and it’s completely free. Free small zoo❤️ They have tigers and bears and little monkeys all kinds of cuties! Always fun to wander off the beaten paths too. 🤫

Irvine Park is a great zoo and the park are such unique spaces! My only suggestion would be to have more information on the website about the zoo. We didn't know it was free or the style of the space until we read reviews and saw for ourselves. Hopefully this will help others: The Zoo is completely free, but donations are suggested. They have a nice smaller selection of animals (some common and some uncommon) and there are plenty of opportunities to take some wonderful photos! It doesn't take long to go through the first section - maybe 30-45 minutes, but another maybe 30-45 minutes if you take your time and see the rest. The park has a continuous road all the way around the zoo and park, so make sure you hop in the car and follow the path past the buffalo if you'd like to see all the animals! The Park is gorgeous! Also free and it's beautifully maintained while staying wild. Great for walking, biking, kayaking, etc. There are picnic areas and a huge playground with plenty of room for everyone. There's also a pond with a fun spitting turtle fountain and a a little gazebo on the water. There are some wild waterfowl to watch and ducklings out and about. Very relaxing! There is also a Visitor's Center, but they were closed when we went both days. I can't speak for anything about what they have since we missed them, but there is an Olson's Ice Cream sign outside with concession stand. The Irvine Zoo and Park close at dusk, so it's a great way to spend the day! So absolutely worth visiting!

So many trails to explore with your dogs! And great place for the kids. Either seeing the zoo, hiking, or enjoying lunch at the many pavilions

Great park!! Lots of things to see.. a waterfall, museums, wild ducks, gardens, several playgrounds, a babbling brook, lots of shelters and picnic tables. Great opportunities to walk, hike, skateboard, bike, etc but still completely handicap accessible. The animals are clearly well cared for and are visible (unlike a lot of zoos) and are honestly just icing on the cake as thw rest of the park is phenomenal! I've taken hundreds of pics over the years, but here are a couple of our most recent ones!

Very unique! It's got a duck/turtle pond near the entrance that has lots of parking. There are many pavilions and seating areas, along with restrooms. There's a handful of animals near the front, and then HUGE areas along the loop for big animals. It's also got a small petting zoo.

Always an amazing time! I decided to visit during the winter, which meant taking a walk along the loop. It was absolutely worth it, even with a limited number of animals on display due to the freezing cold. The calm and content animals residing in their enclosures were very humbling to observe. Despite lacking a degree, I noticed how relaxed they all appeared. Being so close to these magnificent creatures was a truly unforgettable experience.

Please update your website. Beautiful park that is absolutely free to the public and operates solely through private donations. Made quite a drive to get there and wasn't disappointed. Lots of room for activities, family get togethers, picnics etc. Playgrounds, benches, picnic tables, gazebos. Further back are the animals which you can observe while going on an extensive hike on the "loop" inside the park. Many of the animals were no longer inside their "homes" with no explanation as to why. Expect lots of people if visiting during the summer months. Further back in the park are secluded picnic areas, and waterfalls which we unfortunately didn't see but wish we would have. A historic handmade home, school and outbuildings can be seen further back deeper in the park. Ponds with geese, beautiful rock cliffs and old growth trees were some of our favorite sites. There is food for sale although it is rather pricey so if you're on a budget please keep that in mind. Overall, a wonderful & beautiful place to spend a warm sunny day with your family or even by yourself!

Quiet, serene. My father recently passed and as a child he stomped these woods, which he held dear to his heart all his life. He passed this love on to his three girls. We were walking in his memory with our mother. Was a pleasant way to honor his life. And seemed perfect to ask in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the park to keep this sacred space maintained for future generations, such as his grandchildren and theirs.

What a wonderful spot and right in the middle of town. I spent 2 days in Chippewa and went to this park both days. Absolutely loved it and will be back for the holidays to it all lit up 🎄🎉✨️🎁

It is free admission, but donations appreciated. We started at the visitor center, which had some neat artifacts from history, displayed. Then walked down the zoo trail, which had a small amount of exotic animals. It took around 30 mins to explore the visitor center and walk through the zoo. We drove through the park a little ways and stopped to explore the cave, which is a walk across the bridge and follow the paved trail about a 1/4 mile. All in all it is a good place to stop and waste some time, especially if you need something to do with the kids.

My kids and I love this zoo. The animals are so active, clean exhibits, zoo associations constantly walking around and talking to people and just great information all around. I especially love that they have the old machines that make the plastic animals on the spot. This is such a nostalgic thing for me and I’m so glad I can share this with my kids. The outside of the grounds is beautiful walking in and all the exhibits are inside and close near by. This makes is so easy with little ones.

When I first came to the area to visit my boyfriend, he took me here! It was a surprise and now, every time we are in Chippewa, I ask him to take me to the park! In the winter time, most of the animals aren't out... but in the summer you can see them all, plus some miniature horses, donkeys and even some goats (all of which you can actually pet and interact with). A lot of these photos were taken in the spring, so around March/April, but I will post more once I go again and if the miniature horse and donkeys are out :) If you're having a bad day, go visit some animals! You'll love it here.

Irvine is classic, spent many hours here over the years. Plenty to do no matter who you are. Seasonal activities for days, including the iconic Christmas lights and sleigh ride. This has even been expanded on in recent years, to open up Erickson Park which gives access to Glen Loch. Recently I saw some longhorn prairie beefs at the zoo and they looked like some good bois. Also a lot of gnome villages that I have pictured.

I'll give 5 stars when they update/fix their website. The website is very confusing and if it wasn't for other reviews I wouldn't have known what was all here. If you're looking to come here but dont understand like pretty much everyone else, read this. 1. There is no admission charge, there are donations boxes through out the park. 2. This is more of a large park that has animals. There's a petting zoo with horses, goats, and more. There's also a tiger, lemurs, bison, hyena, etc. 3. There is an ice cream shop at the front of the park, it's expensive but so worth it. 4. There's many hiking trails and a children's playground The website needs a desperate revamp because it's very confusing! If someone from management reads this and needs helps updating the site send me an email I'd be happy to help create a more user friendly site that has better details about the park.

Best Park we've visited so far. Lots of trails and restrooms to accommodate us older folks. Nice assortment of animals to enjoy up close and all the people there are very friendly. I can take my mobility scooter almost anywhere with my husband as he walks the trails. An excellent place to see all of God's creations. For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The LORD, The God of hosts, is his name. Monday, December 18, 2023, my dog, Buster, and I went to Irvine Park here in the rural town of Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. The park was decorated with a ton of Christmas lights and other Christmas stuff and temporarily named Christmas Village. It was awesome. Lots slowly drove through staying warm inside our vehicles like Buster and me. Others soaked up the enchanting experience walking around in the bitter cold. Well, we do that in Wisconsin. If you have kids or you are a kid at heart this is the best place in the world to enjoy Christmas. We just missed their special event where they had live actors. But to me, this Christmas Village was so exciting especially watching my dog Buster. He sat upfront and often hung himself halfway out the car window bebobing his head from side to side to enjoy all the sights and the people strolling through. I took a short video but you need to experience this yourself to understand.

We love Irvine Park Zoo in Chippewa Falls, WI! In the summer, we love to see the many animals in the zoo. In the fall, we enjoy the play parks and walking paths. Then, around Christmastime, we love the amazing lighted displays throughout the whole park. Cost: Free! Lots of parking, easy to find, accessible and on-site bathrooms!

For being free, it was a nice zoo. The park itself has many play areas for children, a mini splash pad and lots of picnic areas. There are zoo areas easy to walk with little children and a petting zoo. But what we liked was the option to drive the park to see the bigger enclosures.

Irvine zoo is beautiful. They don't have a large quantity of animals but the location is amazing.there are multiple hiking trails as well as a beautiful dam, an old school house and log cabin. This is a wonderful place to visit with family and especially children. It is also free to get in. I definitely recommend visiting.

Really nice clean Park. Easy accessible. No entrance fee, but you welcome to leave a donation. The animals look like they well taken care of. They even have a small petting zoo. Really a nice place to walk around and to take your kids.

Makes us wonder what happened to the formerly great old historic lumbering city of Menomonie when we see all the outstanding work and upkeep of this valuable regional gem. Keep up the true public spirit, Chippewa Falls area!

We were visiting for Christmas and went to their Christmas display and what a spectacular experience. Totally worth going and seeing this. So much hard work goes into putting this together.

So peaceful, plenty of land to create your own comfort zone. You can feed the ducks and geese. Pet friendly, wonderful rescue zoo. " Surprised to see a hyena."

Wonderful hometown zoo. We love walking through the park with our dogs. Nice slice of nature right in town. On this day the bears and hyena were right by the window which was a nice surprise.

Always a beautiful park. A great place to drive through, but even better to spend part of the day walking around. Whether it's December and you see the Holiday lights or the rest of the year. It's essentially our zoo around here, but places in one of the best parks in the area.

Really great place to take a leisurely stroll and observe the animals. The scenery is great, too. There are pathways, bridges over the river, and trails through the woods. They have picnic tables and shelters. And a wide assortment of animals.

Good small zoo experience for young children. Big fan of any way I can entertain my kids for a while for free, and if they get bored we can just go to the playground. It's a great setup. Plus, in the warm months there's an ice cream shop.

Went there for a spring walk. Some of the animals were out. You need to enter through Bridgewater Road in the winter. Visitor Building wasn’t open yet, and you can’t get to the picnic areas but it is still like winter out. Great little zoo and lots of walking trails. Perfect in the warmer months to get out and walk and bring the kids to see the animals.

  • 2/5 Kim B. 2 years ago on Google
2 stars since park is woodsy and pretty, but there's not a waterfall, just a fabricated short metal drop that water travels on.

  • 5/5 Lana N. 10 months ago on Google
This week was our first time visiting the area and visiting the zoo! It was lovely! We first did the drive-around park, back by the elk and buffalo, and then came back around to park and walk. We went inside the main building, where there is a little food shop, and saw some displays of items.from back in the old days. Then we walked the little zoo. It was a hot day, and we went right around 1pm, so most of the animals were inside. My son's favorite part was geesing pellets to the goats (25 cents for a small handful). The greater park had playgrounds and picnic tables, perfect for a family day out.
