Modest but clean place with an attractive dining terrace in the rear. The entrées are in the $15 range and the portions are generous. We ordered a seafood soup, mixed ceviche and fried calamari. All were good. The service was friendly and good. Would eat here again if I was in the neighborhood.

Good food at a great price! The bistec a lo pobre was cooked well and full of flavor. El Rocoto is definetely a good choice for good Peruvian food.

Small Peruvian Gem hidden away in Fairfield CT. The place is very inconspicuous. Blink twice and you might miss it. Nestle between Mo’s Wine and Spirits and Maritime Chevrolet, you will find this two story building with apartments on the second floor and a sports bar next door. Don’t be fooled by the looks, the place is great! Not much space tp park and with about 12 tables, you will considered small. They make up in flavor and service. Jaime, our server was very attentive and courteous. He made sure our needs were met. Because it was summer, we sat on the patio on the back and we ordered Peruvian Beer (Crystal Lager) and the red Sangria. Both were delicious. My wife ordered the Beef Milanesa and my son and I ordered the Biftec Encebollado (Steak with Onions). For appetizers we got the Anticuchos (Beef Hearts). Absolutely perfect. We are planning to come back many, many times as we wanted to try other things on the menu. My wife tried to order the ½ roasted chicken (a Peruvian staple) but they were out. It turns out they go fast on Saturdays when we went. New Favorite place, could not recommend it more.

Don't really go for Mexican, but this was very good. Service was good. Will go back, but I think the lunch prices will get me back there for lunch before I go back for dinner. However, I will go back for dinner.

Went for dinner with my daughter. We both enjoyed it. We even tried marinated beef heart which turned out to be pretty good. Desert was different but again very good. Place is small but service was good. Try it if you want something different 😉

Good place a little difficult to find but we made it. This location has a warm homey feel to it, it was like walking into a place I've been in before. Granted it was my first time here. it was your typical tasting Peruvian food. I gave it three stars because when I finally ate it it felt like I've had this before. My food was prepared well and came out quick but the flavors to me were, how can i say this, basic. Once again it was a good plate of food it just didn't wow me. Yes i would recommend this place to any who is trying Peruvian food for the first time and to everyone who have already tried Peruvian and are scared to try a new place.

The food at El rocoto is a solid 10! So delicious with fresh ingredients. The only negative was the pisco sour I had because it was too small and the flavor was average. On the other hand the pisco sour doesn’t let me take away any stars from this place because next time I’ll just get wine instead. This place was definitely a pleasant surprise! Being from out of town and I was looking for authentic Spanish restaurant. This place is really cute. The decor and atmosphere makes you feel really comfortable. The food was sooo good we left very content. The kids loved the chicharrón de pollo. We had shrimp ajillo & sea foods paella - simply amazing! Will definitely be coming back once we’re in town again.

So glad to have stumbled on El Rocoto on a quiet Monday night! Felt like we escaped Fairfield to a cute little cafe in Peru for a summer evening. Loved the pisco sour and ceviche and the crunchy cancha. Plus pleasant service. We’ll be back to try the beef heart and desserts!

The best peruvian food in fairfield. I recommend the chaufa or chicken lomo. Also they have a orange red sauce that is a game changer:..

Nice place to eat in Fairfield, we order Leche de Tigre, shrimp chaufa, and beef saltado. Beef saltado with spaghetti was cold and tasted good.

The food is really bad, should not be even trying to replicate real Peruvian food, they do not have the ingredients and yet they sell you what the plate regardless! You cannot give someone a rotten banana instead of plantain. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else, customer service is the worst, they will fight with you if you complain. Overpriced when not even street food could compare.

Great little hidden gem. Friendly staff. The ceviche was fantastic, we got the mixed one. The octopus in it was too rubbery, but everything else in it was perfect. I'd probably just get the fish one next time, as that was my favorite part. Meals were pretty standard compared to other CT Peruvian restaurants, but I didn't have to go all the way to Norwalk! I'd definitely go back.

  • 1/5 Irena B. 3 years ago on Google
Disgusting. The food is dry and overpriced. There is no flavor and no taste to anything. Fiesta in Stamford and Norwalk is worth the drive. We will never get food from here again. The aji sauce has no flavor, the ceviche is over salted with bad quality fish, the Jalea was breadcrumbs without any fish. Just awful, drive to Stamford, avoid at all cost.
