Terrible service!! awful!!! Staff have zero knowledge and behaviorul problems. I went today with headache and numbness, numbed eye and arm and dizziness, besides long waiting im the lobby, when entered to the room, it lasted 1.5 hour for the doctor to see me, actually she was not a doctor, she looked like a practicioner. She was lazy in hearing my symptoms and concerns and said you have not a life threatening situation for today, you may have any brain tumor or whatever but we do not do MRI here or other bloodworks to find out the reason why u are having this situation so u should go to your neurologist!!! That is insane!! How can you talk like that to a patient and how don't u do examinations!! That what is the ER for?? They gave me a med for migraine which of course didn't worked and after 2 other hours came another intern who was so arrogant telling me that that was not a big deal because everyday people go there for headaches!!! Omg!! I really have never been on such ER with such staff!! After 4 hours left that place without any service!!! That is an awful place with terrible staff!!!

The worst experience ever! Came here thinking they would take better care of us compared to Jamaica hospital. Boy was i wrong! Over 12 hr wait. Just ridiculous. I don't even want to give that 1 star. No bedside manner from the late night drs/residents. JUST AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE. and we were in a car accident, you'd think we would be taken care of.

Terrible , uncaring staff especially where mental health issues are concerned. They do a tele health visit over night with a uncaring, paper pushing phychiatric department. They essentially want the patient in and out with no plan or follow up. Each staff member just blames the rules of the hospital on neglect.

One of the worst ER experiences of my life. Currently here for my seventh hour. Saw the doctor once 5 hours ago. They took payment very quickly - haven’t been communicated with. Learned I was getting a CT when the guy came to get me. No offer of water or food or a blanket or anything. Bathrooms dirty. People in halls. Would have been better off at Elmhurst.

I have been once before in this facility quite a number of years ago when I had a torn ligament on my calf and the service was flawless. So when my husband needed an emergency medical attention on 6/26/23 noon time , I brought my hrs and to this facility. I don't know what happened to the front desk service and parking services, however, once you are inside the medical area , the medical staff to name a few : the nurse aide ( Deborah) , Jessica Kovach (nurse), MD Ramraj (resident) and Dr. Kim ( attending) , provided us with stellar services . The technicians as well which I wasn't able to get their names. It Took almost 3 hours to be seen by the MD because they were swarmed with patients plus we were COVID infected so needed a room for us to be isolated. Need for improvement : 1. Security at the gate didn't mention that they can provide emergency valet so I have to park a bit far to the garage and dropped off my husband to the ER who was unwell. Though he mentioned that I don't have to pay because ticket will be validated in ER. 2. ER front desk - young staff and triage nurse could use some bedside manners. When you're in pain and nervous, you really needed some compassion . My husband is a very nice person who don't complain. Anyway, past noon time, a matured woman replaced the young front desk staff and service was a lot better. She responded to me nicely when I followed up after 2 hours of waiting. 3. Needs Better coordination between front desk and medical unit as every time someone enters our room to attend to us, we noticed that no one wears a mask so as soon they open the door, I will tell them not to come in without a mask because we're covid infected. My husband can't talk because of his inflamed throat so am the one telling the medical staff. Someone failed to put a sign on the room door that a COVID patient was inside . Anyway, overall experience was very good.

Absolutely unacceptable! I waited over 5 hours in the triage area with heart palpitations… I’ve seen so many patients walk out because the wait was ridiculously long. Never again will I go to that emergency room, I honestly would rather self diagnose on google, that’s how bad it is. There’s no reason you should be waiting over 2 hours in an emergency room.

10 years ago this was the best ER around but the more popular it became, the more downhill it went. Last year they gave my mom a drug I said no to. The nurse said the doctor prescribed in and gave it anyway as I said no. My mom has alzheimers, I am her caregiver. I was so angry. I had to call and complain. How dare she give my mom medication without permission. My mom has never returned to Northshore for anything. I changed her hospital. I came in once balled over in pain and ended up in the floor unable to move. The nurse seemed annoyed. I was crying hysterically Worse pain than labor. She can go to hell with the way she talked to me as if I was exaggerating. She seemed comoletely unable to recognize I was in severe distress. Another time came in for kidney stone. Got no water in the 7 hours I was there and asked several times. Water machine in the kitchenette was broken. Nurse ignored and avoided me. I tried to flag her several times She kept saying give me five minutes. All the nurses were 20 something, it was like dealing with your children. When she went on her break, her replacement gave me a sandwich and drink within 5 mins. Need to find a new ER. This one is severely terrible now.

I came in due to some severe and painful symptoms and it was causing me to not sleep for 3 days, the staff were quick and extremely helpful. I wish I could remember the names of all the nurses who helped me out today, all of them were so sweet and really tried to understand my symptoms and my reasons for coming in. This is a stark change from my primary care physician who’s quite dismissive of my issues. The doctors here were all so nice too. I was given several medications, and the nurses explained each one well and what symptoms they would target. I feel grateful for the team that helped me today, I finally got some good sleep after I got home thanks to the treatments I was given. God bless and thank you very much!

Absolutely nightmare - expect to wait for hours here and even you tell them you are in pain, they simply do not care. My wife had to run out to get me painkillers because nobody at the ER would help us. If you have an emergency, go somewhere else, they'll let you die here.

Absolutely awful. What happened to NorthShore hospital? Was very different 10 years ago. Dirty, crowded, terrible service. Waiting time to go in was 6-7 hours. What is the point of an emergency room?Worst than a public hospital. Absolutely unacceptable.

26 hours after entering the ER - came in as a pre admit and still awaiting a room ! Apparently they have no beds available and everyone is in wait mode. Told here was a 5 hour wait just to be seen last night!!!

I went in with a chest pain while I had a c-section surgery just a couple of days before. My OBG told me to go to the emergency and one of them will see there since one of them on call for emergency. She never showed and I was I told she will not physically see me but the emergency doc will discuss the results with her. I waited 2 hours with so much pain. Then I checked in with a nurse and she told me it will be another 4 hours for a doc to see me. I can’t believe they would leave people in pain like this and it is supposed to be a emergency treatment. I was very disappointed and I left for another hospital.

These hospital employees have behavioral and attitude problems. They appear to have low self-esteem where they need feel important and authoritative, even with patients who are complying. Staff appear to be on their own time and schedule where you have an emergency room which is overflowing with patients. They are being neglected. How can you have your staff eat and listen to music in the ER?

This place is a torture chamber, doctors don’t care about you and will hold you against your will with no reason. They give injections and drugs you specifically ask not to get. They don’t help you with what you need only what they want to treat. I’ve spent over a week on the facility with zero help for what I went in for, if you try to leave they will tackle you to the ground and sedate you and lock you in a room, they give no real answers to any question you have, the phycologist will treat you like a bag of dirt. This is only the start. This place needs to be shut down

This Hospital ER is a death sentence. Complete chaos, no human touch or empathy. Security keeps disturbing the sick and weak making treats to patients who don’t show their bands. I’m unable to move by myself and the security with the gun kicked out my only help. Nurses are horrible keeps losing patients my samples. Spend over 10 hrs, no one checks on you, no food or water. Security will not let anyone stay with me. The other staffs are loud and disrespectful, always on their phones and not willing to help or answer your question. Entire ER is dirty and disgusting. Everyone staff keeps complaining how much they hate their job. North shore is ER is failure.
