It was a very nice classy Italian dinner spot. The lights were dim, they have booths, and table seating. They do have outdoor seating for those who are not vaccinated, please provide your cards if you are. The outdoor seating isn’t the best, it’s not a pretty side street. However 5 stars goes to their food! It’s delicious! The service is good but they could get some more uplifted waiters. They seemed tired and unenthusiastic, understandable…

The food here is great. We started with the half dozen baked clams. The sauce in it was delicious. Great to dip your bread in. I ordered the calamari Fra Diablo. It was a big portion. The sauce was medium spicy. The food was great. The service was good. I would definitely recommend it for great Italian food.

The pasta is always cooked fresh and my lasagna was perfect. The red sauce is so good and its not like some resturants where the red sauce gives you heart burn. The sauce is perfect. The bread came out warm and toasty for the table. The service was also very good. I absolutely love the mango martini and would recommend that. Average cost for 2 people will probably be over $100. If its packed it will be VERY loud inside so if your looking for a quiet place this isn't it. Outdoor seating could use some work to enhance the decor or vibe.

Cara Mia invested finally in atmosphere at it's great new site. However, service was not great. Waiter never came back until the end of the meal. Whatever happened to asking patrons how is meal, do you need anything? Also, the shrimp Cara Mia dish was supposed to be creamy, Instead it was watery. A $160 meal was below par. I say it is new and just getting acclimated so trying to keep and open mind. Hopefully, they read and learn from reviews.

My girlfriend took me here for our anniversary 11/12/2023 and we were honestly just so underwhelmed. Caesar Salad was the only thing that was good. The pasta noodles from the pesto were inconsistent some were hard and chewy and others were cooked right, the piccata has absolutely no seasoning and really did not taste good at all. The waitress was just okay there was nothing over the top that she did to make her service memorable.

Been coming here fir years food always impeccable. Had takeout today 3/20/22 i don’t know if they have new cooks but the chicken Marsala was a disgrace. Definitely there’s been a change in staff. I will not be going back. Such a shame same story they fell into post covid. Lousy food higher prices smaller portions.

We've been coming to this restaurant since 1984 & continue to do so due to the down home service & food quality. The menu is diverse, the drinks are generous, and the desserts are decidently delicious. Make a reservation & go early if you don't like to wait for a table, but no matter what you choose to do you'll love this place. The new location in Floral Park has all the charm of the 1st location, but with more space. Tonight's chopped baked clams, lasagna, penne ala vodka & veal picata were only upstaged by the top flight creme brule.

I had the chicken pizzaiola. The sauce was fresh and the chicken tender. The service was good and it was nice having the chef coming to the table seeing how everything went

Came across this place while searching for Italian style food for dinner. Ordered the eggplant Parmigiano and chicken Parmigiano. Pickup was quick, food was packaged very well. The chicken parm was tasty, the sauce was not bad at all. I get the feeling the food may be better in a sit down setting as I got this order to go. The eggplant parm was decent. There was no silverware in the to go box and there was too much sauce on the pasta.

The food was amazing, service was excellent and prices were even better for the portions we got. I'm not Italian but I know good food when I eat it. The bread was nice, fresh and soft, calamari was the perfect amount of crispy and the pasta was a perfect texture. The wine was also a fan favorite. I live an hour away and would drive back with no hesitation.

We tried Cara Mia’s new location in Floral Park last night. The food was amazing! I totally forgot to take pictures of the apps because we were so hungry. Definitely worth the wait on a Friday night 😋

I love this place. I've been going to it's original location in Queens Village for many years. The food is fantastic. They offer large family style portions and prices are reasonable. The staff is great. Some of the waiters have been serving us for the past 11 years. We were happy to see that they went to the new location in Floral Park. The restaurant itself is very nice. I always have the Chicken Cara Mia. My husband enjoys the Veal Sorrentino and our son changes his dishes at every visit to try all on the menu. The mussels are great, the penne alla vodka is so good. We truly enjoy their food. I highly recommend.

We heard a lot of hype about this restaurant. We went here 1 week ago for my sister's birthday on a Sunday evening. We had to add salt to the appetizers and then my entree, the beef short rib special of the night, was too salty. Average food, nice atmosphere and good service. We all agreed, we could take it or leave it. If someone I know wanted to try it out, I would go with them, other than that, wouldn't go back.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here. The place is very nice... the service was great and the food is excellent!! The fried calamari is one of the best I have ever had! The portions are very generous and the prices aren't too bad either. Definitely on our "go back" list!

Service was excellent but the food was stellar. The tomatoe sauce was old school sauce and was delicious. Baked clams were awesome and plenty of clam chunks. Thanks for a great meal

This spot is the one I always prefer. I go to many restaurants but to this one I keep coming back again and again. The stuff is very chummy and the cuisine they cook is so appetizing. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice dinner in this restaurant. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Went here on a Google recommendation from JFK airport. Excellent pasta! Our group had mussels, lasagna, veal picatta, and fried calamari. Good house cabernet as well.

My husband and I have been eating at this incredible gem for over 12 years. We know people who have been eating here for more than 20 years. The food is always on point, always fresh, and always delicious; old school Italian homestyle cooking. The service is without a doubt top notch! Cara Mia never disappoints.

Love, love, love this place! So easy to miss too. Best salad, Pazzo, grilled vegetables, cheeses, olives, peppers..yum! Great fried calamari, legs too. Marinara. Desserts, cannoli, etc. Great owners, and staff. Definitely worth a try! Enjoy

  • 3/5 Mollie M. 1 year ago on Google
Their service is great but pay attention to the bill. They say beer 2 for 1 charged 10 okay then I just drank one but still charged 10 instead of the regular price. Ordered the mussels some came empty. If you do not order a break down of the bill you will not realize the tip Is included so you tip twice. When the bill is brought to the person it needs to be clear and precise the person should not have to ask for a breakdown on the bill.

Cara Mia is the best Italian restaurant around.Been going there for years and years. They are relocating (not far) but we are sure going to miss having them so close by. Food is excellent always, never a bad meal. Portions are generous. Staff is amazing, so friendly and welcoming.. generous drinks, too. A must try !

Lovely restaurant with great food and portions! Some food needed a little extra seasoning but we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Do be prepared for a wait. Atmosphere was a little loud for my own personal preference, but many do enjoy the busier atmosphere. Would definitely return to try more on the menu.

The woman who answers the phone is absolutely lovely every-time I call to place an order. I usually order the Bolognaise pasta however within the last month it’s not as good, they must have changed the chef. I recommended my dad to go there he felt the food quality changed as well. Also he ordered a salad to stay and one to go. The one Togo was thrown together missing the Anchovies. It’s not the same love that the dine in people get. Anyway customer service is good I just hope they get back on track with the food.

THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD. FULL STOP. The quality of the food and drinks is superb. Best I've ever tasted. Items are made fresh on the premises, including the desserts, which is [chef's kiss.] The drinks at the bar are also perfect. I mean that. They're the gold standard of the drink. (Try their French Martini!) The staff is awesome, and the prices are reasonable. Great Italian food, but sadly no pizza. The locals LOVE the place... You will too!

  • 5/5 Dave S. 11 months ago on Google
Terrific food and service. I had sausage and peppers with penne. My wife had the flounder special. Both excellent. The atmosphere is a little noisy for our taste but probably not for most people. You won't be disappointed.

Didn’t wait long to be seated. The food was good but serving was a lot had to take some home. Service was great. I love the toasted Italian bread with butter.

  • 3/5 Ann Marie V. 10 months ago on Google
Service was very good. Food is delicious. I asked for regular spaghetti instead of linguine, but did not get it. Pasta is the very cheapest part of any order. I have been there 2x and both times there was not a sufficient amount of pasta that came with the shrimp ala Cara Mia. I am used to Italian restaurants that charge, but give you enough for two meals. If this were to improve here, I would come back. As it stands, my rule is 3 strikes and I am eating elsewhere. I would give it another try. Otherwise, the food is delicious. Hoping for better!

I support all restaurants that are staying alive during these bad times, and my heart goes to those that unfortunately had to close. Cara Mia in Hillside, What a nice restaurant! I ordered the pazzo salad, which means “the crazy salad” and realized on my first mouth full that the hot and cold vegetables in combination with the green leafs and 3 different cheeses made me crazy for more! Followed with their minestrone soup and thereafter pushed for their fresh house cannoli. I was content and happy that I was recommended to visit this establishment and can’t wait to be back for their traditional dinner menu.

  • 5/5 Cass L. 3 years ago on Google
Always great. COVID menu is smaller, but all the best dishes are still available. Our table of 6 ordered 2 of the 3 daily specials- homemade and impeccable. Pazzo salad is STILL the best salad out there. Alfredo and white clam sauce were SPOT ON. Dine in or take out...YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.

I love this restaurant! They have great dishes, their menu is rich, The chief cook in that place is a specialist, I enjoy a lot tasting all their food. We chose caramia for a valentine day dinner and it was bustling and electric. The thirty minute wait turned into ten minutes and we sat down and were immediately tended to. The sangria, the moscato and our appetizers were amazing. Once our entrees came out we were excited , my wife and I shared meals together. She had the chicken monachino and I had the pork roast with marinara and pasta . We let the waiter know that someone’s hand went overboard on the salt . The pork was tender but the pasta had no flavor just straight salt . I drank an extra sangria to combat the amount of high blood pressure I just had in five fork jabs. They quickly replaced it and asked me what I would like. I told them chicken penne la vodka , they came back with it in less than 7 min flat. It knocked my socks off. It was amazing !!! We took pictures , wish we had room for dessert but were so stuffed. Definitely will be coming back!!! Great place overall no complaints!!!!
