We went on a weekend for lunch to try a new Korean Japanese place. The food here didn’t disappoint at all. We had bibimap, Dumpling Soup and shrimp fried rice. However I was expecting a better ambience and disappointed. The service was excellent, the server gave me recommendations and details on the preparation style. Definitely worth dining here for a Korean fare. Their bbq is the one that stands out for jean eaters with dedicated BBQ tables

Really enjoyed the pork belly and chicken. They have a ton of flattop grill options. Went with the pork belly and the spicy chicken on this visit. The spicy chicken was flavorful and seriously delicious, thought it wasn’t really spicy at all (the side of kimchi added spice to the party!). If you’re used to really spicy food you might not find much kick in the chicken but the flavor is delicious overall. Pork was great too, really liked the extra sauces with it. Opted for a bowl of the soon tofu soup with beef. That had some delicious spice and went well with the rest of the meal. Service was ok, had a few different servers throughout the meal. There’s a full bar with classic drinks like Terra. Tons of seating and a big projector playing K-pop on one wall.

We did the Korean BBQ. Food was great and there was a lot of it. Sushi was really good too. Even though they were understaffed and super busy they were still friendly, in good spirits, and very helpful. Our server checked on us throughout our meal and showed tips and tricks to cooking the meat. We will definitely be coming back.

Not a very good first time experience for us at YAMI. We visited the restaurant not having the intention to try their massive selection of Korean Style barbeque/grill meats. We wanted something on a lighter fare. The restaurant is a vibrant, modem and upscale, with a separate seating section equipped with the table mounted cooking grills for those ordering the bbq. We ordered the shumai (steamed shrimp dumplings) and YAMI garden salad for starters, with Hot stone vegetable bibimbap and YAMI fried rice for entrees. Shumai and salad were just ok, the bibimbap was over cooked as the vegetables and rice were burnt on contact with the hot stone, and fried rice was totally flavorless. Based on this visit alone, we were not impressed at all. Perhaps the rest of their menu, particularly the bbq would fare much better.

Overpriced and stingy. Disappointed. I have been looking forward to visit this establishment since it opened. But I'm the only one who likes spicey and Korean food. So i have been holding it off. We are a party of 5 with two adults and 3 children. We ordered Combo A, Pork Katsu, Soon Tofu, Spicy Pork stir fry, and Japchae. The Katsu was bland and a little dry. The kids each had a piece and weren't interested anymore which says something. I'm not much of a fan of the sauce that came with it either, but it at least gave it some flavor. The japchae only had onions and peppers? I'm used to it having spinach and mushroom amongst other vegetables. It was a little on the sweet side for me also. I was surprised that the BBQ didn't come with lettuce. The banchan (side dishes) were good. Kimchi seems to be made inhouse or at the very least, did not tasted like the ones brought from a grocery store. What really irked me is that they are stingy. The waitress brought out 4 bowls of rice and indicated that a 5th bowl would cost extra. All the food we ordered and it only came with 4 bowls of rice? That leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Also, she initially gave us tiny amounts of side dishes which was barely enough to offer everyone a small taste and asked if we wanted broccoli before bringing it out. I had to ask for refills a few times. Talking about refills, they explicitly stated that there are no refills for sodas. The beers and most drinks had no pricing on it. For mediocre food and service at that price point, we will not return. I love Korean food, but it is not worth it.

This was our first time at this Korean Restaurant my fiance and I love it. We are definitely coming back. He order the BBQ pork belly and I ordered the marinated beef short ribs that came with the size. The staff is really nice, the Restaurant was very clean.

On the fence about Yami. The a la carte BBQ option has mediocre meat but is priced at a premium. Kimchi was good. The side dishes are legit and delicious. Rice was unimpressive. Soups lacks a depth of flavor. The overall experience is good though esp with the decor and vibe. It’s a good place to be introduced to Korean BBQ.

Went on a Saturday at 7ish, no wait for a table. The service and food were good. We tried the bang bang shrimp, which were fried well but the sauce is a little too creamy and sweet for me. The banchan were good, especially the fish cake. The marinades for all the dishes we got were really good. The thinly sliced beef and spicy pork were really good. We also tried the japchae, which was ok but could use a little more seasoning. My only complaint is that they did not clean or change out the grill, so by the time we got to grilling the last item, we tasted the charred marinade from earlier items. They also only gave us one pair of tongs, but it would be good to have a clean pair to serve with that hasn't touched the raw meat. Would definitely go again as the marinades they use are really flavorful.

My friend was so happy to take me here to have Korean food for the first time and to have the full experience of seeing the food cook in front of me. She loves the restaurant and their food, and the staff knows her well as one of their regular customer. With all the food I had, I didn't feel stuffed, which was great. Besides that, everything I had was delicious. Looking forward to this same experience again.

Had my birthday celebration there with friends, and though it started out a little concerning with the number of large reservations they had at the same time, it all worked out perfectly. My friends and I had a truly amazing time, and the staff was so attentive even while being short staffed. Their food and drinks are both so so good! Especially love the tteokbokki!

Super delicious and unique rolls, from the left we got the Energy Roll, Boynton Lovers and Hot Rock and Roll. Also got a spicy tuna roll which is the best I’ve had in a while. Love that you have options of Korean BBQ, Sushi, or a variety of other menu items. Great service as well.

We stopped in for our first visit and had a really good time. The staff were very friendly and informative and helped with recommendations. The food was tasty and interesting. We had the Happy Hour Menu for being there before 6PM so the deals were also good. We ordered the Veggie spring rolls appetizer, a kimchee pancake appetizer, a spicy tuna sushi roll and the marinated chicken dinner cooked at our table. We enjoyed it all and will be coming back.

I felt that I was robed. Extremely expensive for the amount served. Nigiris were like a razor being that thin!! Unaju-don 5 slices poor served on top of a very thin layer of rice. Stuffed with lettuce to make it look thicker. First and last time I go there!

My sister told me how great this place was, so I finally went! Wow The spicy tuna roll was sooo good! I got the chicken fried rice for dinner, and that was yummy as well! I can’t remember the noodle dish she got, but she said it was very tasty! Very happy with those two items I tried! Definitely want to go back ! Such a cute place too!

I come to this special restaurant often because I like the good mood that is characterizes this restaurant. The personel is extraordianrillyremarkably welcoming and qualified. The service is extremely quick. Needless to say, the food you eat is exceptionaly good. I frequent many times and I was always pleased. The payment is fair. I highly suggest this restaurant to all my friends.

First time trying Korean BBQ. Very good. Went there for a date night. We ordered the short ribs, chicken fried rice, and edamame. Everything was delicious. Very good quality food and we felt stuffed by the end of the meal. A lot of the side dishes will look unfamiliar but I promise they're tasty just be open minded. If it's your first time trying it look up a video on youtube how Korean BBQ works and it'll make things smoother. They have K-Pop style music playing on a projector in the middle of the restaurant so it's a fun vibe. Definitely coming back again.

I like this spot! They have decent dishes, they have a nice menu, The chef in that restaurant is very trained, I like a lot eating all their food. The dishes are always fresh and tasty, the attitude towards the clients is agreeable. I often go to this restaurant and I was never unhappy. I recommend it with no hesitation.

Food is below average. I recommend Yama in Delray over this place. Staff was rude and unwelcoming. Spoke to everyone except me. I felt extremely unwelcome. Owner kept asking employee if I paid and it made me fell like she thought I was a thief. The woman did not even speak to me or say hello she kept asking if I paid like I was goin to run away with the food. Very poor service. When I walked in nobody greeted me. It was my first time there nobody said anything. I literally had to tell someone I’m placing an order but need to see a menu. I’m not sure if they aren’t used to seeing people of color but very unwelcoming. Didn’t acknowledge me at all. It was like I was invisible. Spent $50 on food and was treated very poorly. Food wasn’t very good. I ordered spicy chicken and kimchi pancake. Spicy chicken wasn’t spicy. Very soggy like it was dumped in water. Kimchi pancake was tasteless and dry/chalky. Would never go back.

Nice atmosphere, mostly nice service. We thought it was a bit overpriced. Food was good but not exceptional and not what I expected for the cost. In the end we left underwhelmed.

Visited Korea when stationed overseas. My local Dry Cleaners are Korean and they ate there and praise the food. I had a seafood salad 🥗 a sashimi dish and a Korean beef type stew soup 🍲 with excellent sides of kimchi, pickled vegetables, broccoli 🥦 and Korean potatoes 🥔

Tried YAMI Korean BBQ for the first time - it was a nice experience but we likely won’t be back. Sushi rolls were good, but very expensive for the amount we received. The K-bbq sides were good, especially the potatoes. They charge $3 for each additional white rice ordered- which the server did not specify. We had Combo A, and the prime rib was very good. The service was not very friendly, but our first server was informative.

Went for our anniversary, I thought the Korean bbq would be something we’d both enjoyed a new experience! We picked Combo C we loved it so much, can’t wait to come back with our family it was delicious the staff was great always coming and checking if we need any help. Definitely recommend to everyone!!

Came here with a friend for lunch and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We had the Korean bbq with chicken and pork. Everything was delicious and the servers were all friendly and even told us how long to cook each meat and where on the bbq it should be placed since both of us were clueless about it. All the sides were also amazing and completed the meal. The decor is very neat and they have a projector playing k pop in the center of the restaurant. A bit on the expensive side but I guess your paying for the nice atmosphere and experience of the bbq.

I was not impressed at all. Didn't care for any of the side dishes. The best part of the meal was our 'replacement' server. Not sure why we got a new server but glad we did. I wish I had his name to add to the review. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. I guess we were expecting to be able to cook our meat ourselves which was part of the reason why we chose to dine here but the server(s) took that over. I didn't find the food flavorful or worth what we paid.

Great Korean BBQ restaurant. So far the most authentic in town. We had the galbi and pork belly and the seafood soon jigae. FYI - they charge for lettuce -$4.50 and Green tea - small mug $4.50

Hands down one of the best restaurants globally; easily the best in Boynton Beach. I’ve spent loads of money over the years on dining in dozens of countries and scores of cities; there are many great restaurants, but the only non-chain restaurant I keep returning to and recommending to all of my friends who live in, or travel to, Florida is Yami. The owner is Sue who is an attentive and omni-present owner who always makes things right. There are many excellent service staff, including Bonnie who is highly knowledgeable attentive and simply an experienced pro.

Oh man we haven't had KBBQ in years and I'm happy to say this place hit the spot!! We will definitely be coming back with the entire family! Great location with great staff.

  • 4/5 craigarious 3 years ago on Google
Really enjoyed Yami, although I felt it was a bit pricey overall. Regarding the barbecue... Other Korean barbecues I've been to serve marinated meats and you cook it on a charcoal grill. Here the meats were excellent quality although not seasoned or marinated at all, and you cook on a hot plate powered by gas burners below. If the owner of the restaurant reads this, PLEASE add Hae Dubap to your menu!! We need someplace in this area that makes it.

Ben to Korea this place is super expensive for what you are getting! They are very stingy with the side dishes and for what you end up paying you would get a larger portion and they not pick and Cather you for stuff like the lettuce and white rice and their excuse is America ppl on know ....... well my dear this American knows Super disappointed

This place is really good, if you get the right items... Meat quality is great, a little pricy, but you get what you pay for.

  • 4/5 Paul V. 3 years ago on Google
Enjoyed our meal and service here. Glad to have a Korean cuisine option in the area. The Spicy Pork Bibimbap and two sushi rolls we tried were quite good (Mango Roll and Hot Rock N Roll). My girlfriend didn't like the Hot Rock and Roll because the fish was a little stronger flavored, so if you like subtle tasting options, that's not the one for you. We also had Tteok-Bokki, which had some likeable elements, but overall was not our style. The dumplings and noodles in the dish were delicious, but the rice cakes had a really chewy texture which was off putting, so if you do not like chewy food, I would opt out. Overall ery good experience and would .ost certainly return and experience more menu options!

My husband is Korean and we love this place. Authentic delicious Korean food. My son loves doing the Korean BBQ. The staff is very attentive and sometimes even the owner will cook for you herself at the table. Everything is very clean and the ambience is relaxing and enjoyable. I recommend the red lotus drink which has lychee in it and is a must have every time I go.

Saw this place while she shopping next door and it was a pleasant surprise! They grow your food for you and they also have a regular menu. The lady working whose name I didn’t get also ran out with an umbrella and walk us to our car while it was raining. Amazing customer service! We will be back!
