Please understand this place has MAJOR issues. The FIRST major problem I want to bring up directly affects EVERYONE that lives here. OLD TENANTS CODES WORK ON THE DOORS. This is a MAJOR safety problem. They made one of the LARGEST MISTAKES EVER. I lived here for a year, everything was great. Truly we had no issues with anything, except the parking situation is terrible. But otherwise I enjoyed the year I was here. When we moved out we gave our 60 day notice to the front desk, on the notice slip it asks when are you moving. We answered that we were technically moving out a month before our lease ended. The front desk lady said they just need to know so they can forward our mail, we also assumed it was for safety like if there was a fire and they needed to do a head count or something. We thought nothing of it. We moved most of our things out but left some of our belongings there, we figured we would come back and clean and turn in our keys and get the rest of our things when our lease ended. So 2 DAYS BEFORE our lease was over we went back to clean and when we unlocked our apartment door they HAD MOVED PEOPLE IN!!! THERE WAS A COUPLE WATCHING A MOVIE IN THE APARTMENT. My biggest concern for the new tenants was why would our OLD code still work on the door. We had been charged rent for the last month of our lease and utilities which was fine because we still were the renters of that apartment. But now that we knew other people lived there we demanded the rent back and the utilities money. Not only that but they threw away our belongings!!! So we demanded that as well. I will say they paid us back for everything which was the right thing to do. But it took them 4 months to get us the check. Absolutely crazy, this is the biggest mistake I have ever experienced. I also would like to point out that they never asked for our fobs either. I canā€™t imagine that this is the only security issue they have. The office people are nice and the apartments are nice, but they have some MAJOR security problems to resolve. Maybe it will get better after they have been established for a few years.

Parking is a nightmare. Not enough parking for the amount of units. Always fights and people running down hallways making lots of noise. Parking lot is always full of trash. Stuff gets stolen from the ā€œsecure, access only garageā€. Units have very low quality cupboards and appliances. Mail constantly gets lost because there is no real mail room for packages larger than an envelope. This place continues to blow my mind on how poor and unprofessional management is and takes care of a facility!! By far the worst place to live EVER! The safety and security issues are by far the worst. The locked doors into the building get left open almost every night letting anyone into the building. Management never addresses anything!! They take weeks to get back to you and thatā€™s only if you continue to get ahold of them. Grey star is the worst property management company with who and how they hire their ā€œmanagementā€. Absolute joke!!! Attached below is one of the three doors thatā€™s always open for anyone to stroll into the building. Major safety issues!!

ZERO stars. This place is a complete JOKE. DO NOT MOVE HERE. See below for the list of half the issues. I have been a resident at Beyond Apartments since opening in October 2021. Everything seemed to be great up until moving into my new unit in December, but things have progressively gotten worse. The amount of issues and inconveniences my roommate and I have experienced lately is completely unacceptable. Since December, these are a handful of things I/we have encountered: Number one- Not receiving my security deposit until FOUR months after moving out. Though I appreciate your guys' responsiveness, this situation was completely unacceptable and extremely inconvenient. Number two- Our refrigerator/freezer stopped working the first week of living here. This situation forced us to throw away an entire refrigerator/freezer of food which was hundreds of dollars. Number three- Most of all amenities offered at Beyond were out of use for weeks to months. This includes the pool not being open until mid July, the Golf Simulator not working, the fire pit on the rooftop not working, and grills not operating properly/at all. Number four- Our MAIN front door has been broken for about 10 months. In no world is that necessary or acceptable. The inconvenience of the door and call machine being broken is huge and this should have been a main priority. This complex is under two years old. Number five- Our apartment door keypad locks us out multiple times a day. There is not a single time that goes by that our door does not cause us issues. We have been locked out of our apartment for up to ten minutes. Number six- Our packages have been either lost or stolen more times than not, specifically within the past couple of months. Since getting the new Lux system, the package room door is STILL being left unlocked. In addition to this, we are missing mail quite often. I know you are not the post office, but this issue should be top priority. Number seven- Being locked in our garage and the door being broken for over an hour. Both my roommate and I were late to work due to this incident, and she had to uber to downtown Saint Paul because she was late for work and could not wait for maintenance. Number eight- Our water was turned off this morning for twenty minutes without any notice. I think it is common knowledge that a lot of people are trying to get ready for work between the hours of 7am-8am. As you can imagine, this also caused us to be late for work. We are completely unsatisfied with our experience at Beyond Apartments

I can't wait to move out. I've had a hole in my ceiling from a leak a few weeks after moving in and they haven't fixed it yet. I've brought it up multiple times. I have multiple other things that have needed fixing that they promised to take care of before I moved in that they haven't fixed. They constantly charge me the wrong amount for rent that lead to late charges while waiting for them to correct it. They are no help. Worst rental experience I've had. This was only the tip of the iceberg of issues I've had here.

Iā€™ve lived in a ton of apartments in the past, but this one takes the cake for the WORST apartment out there. Management is absolutely terrible here. It takes months- years to get things fixed. Common spaces are consistently dirty. The golf simulator has been broken forever, the place where packages are stored isnā€™t locked so anyone can take packages at any point, the garage door broke one morning at 8am for a few hours so no one could get in or out, the water got turned off in the building to fix a leak at 8am with no forewarning, there is no fenced in area to take your dog out, and the finishes in the apartments are very cheap. Live anywhere else but these apartments. Absolute nightmare living here.

Listen, for ALL the current and future residents of this apartment, contact Washington county hud. You have renters rights. If the reviews I'm reading, front door broke so no longer safe, things inside your apartment broke and not fixed in a timely manner etc etc. You can get these guys involved and what will happen is you will STOP making your rental payments to Beyond apartments and you'll start making them to an "Escrow" account. Until the problem is fixed they won't get any money. However it protects you because your still paying your rent. This should put fire under them and fix what you pay to be working. One last thing. Mn is a One party state law when it comes to recording. So. You record someone they don't need to know because you are one of the parties and you know. Anyways, I'd suggest recording EVERYTHING. Calls to report maintenance issues, calls to office staff to report issues and I'd even video record my unit with the office staff as your doing your walk through. Turn EVERY water faucet on, shower and all. Start the dishwasher, yes I said start it. Open your fridge, turn the stove top on and the oven on. Check blinds if you have them, pull on railings you may have, turn on/off light switches, flush toilets, make sure all windows are in working order. Lastly let the water run. Sinks may be clogged. Protect yourself and keep the recording. And may I suggest you record as well on your move out. This eliminates lies and blames of you being the cause of something and also off bat if need be maintenance orders put in. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to ask while being recorded what is the maintenance turn around policy to fix something. Hope this helps someone!

To start, they took down my initial 1-star post that had pictures attached showing the condition of the property. I recently moved out, but prior to moving out I lived at Beyond for 2 years. The first 6 months were good, but there was a sharp decline after ownership changed. 1) the entryway doors rarely close properly, therefore allowing any resident and non-resident to enter freely. This is an obvious security issue. 2) the garage doors often have issues with opening and closing. Iā€™ve noted that the lower level garage in the East building has many maintenance issues with regard to closing. I believe the West building also encountered a similar issue several times over the last year at least. Again, an obvious security issue to not only the residents but also to their personal vehicles. 3) packages. Before moving out, they took out the Amazon Hub in the East building and replaced it with a nice center island. I thought this was a nice upgrade, but donā€™t know how beneficial its utility is. As for the Luxor system, good luck receiving a code to even get your package. Management is more than happy to help open the package closet for you, but I often would get home outside of office hours. 4) Dog poop. People donā€™t pick up after themselves. Whatā€™s the point of having the dogs do the cheek swabs if youā€™re not going to reprimand residents for not picking up after their dogs? On top of it being quite gross, itā€™s a health risk to other dogs via transmission of worms, illness, etc. 5) Parking. The outdoor parking lot is a nightmare at night. People are parking in places that make it impossible for any emergency vehicles to either get through or properly reach the building. Itā€™s honestly terrifying! I understand that residents may not wish to pay the extra X amount it is to park inside; however, management needs to better advocate for the safety of the building as a whole and start enforcing towing. This should be a non-negotiable. I also understand resident frustration ā€” there should be enough outdoor parking for the amount of residents if indoor parking is not already included in the monthly base rent. I could go on about the other several grievances I had while living there, but those are more superficial than security-based. I do not want this to sound like a pile-on for management, although these are issues often addressed by management. I think this is truly part of the ownership issues in general with Greystar. My experiences with management have been generally positive. Also, whatā€™s with all the Walmart shopping carts?
