I've been to Animal house before and I know a lot of people rave about them. My last visit was a little bit better. However today's visit felt a bit like the little shop of horrors. The birds were SO LOUD and they're housed immediately adjacent to the rabbits and hamsters. The birds keep screeching the entire time you are there. They allow people to handle the animals, I don't know how I feel about that other than it's an excellent way to make your animals sick. The WORST PART was the fact that a poor stressed out Guinea Pig was housed in an enclosure with several rabbits. You should never house the two species together because rabbits are much bigger and stronger than piggies, they don't eat the same food and to add insult to injury there was no hiding space provided for the piggy. The bunnies kept coming over and bullying him. He had burrowed under some hay and bedding ( wood chips, another no no) and was shaking and squeaking. I asked the staff why they were housed together and was informed " they go together". I told them they did not. I have owned both pigs and rabbits and the animals cannot be housed together due to their size/strength but also due to their sleep schedules. The whole place is an absolute nightmare and you should not be buying animals form them. I couldn't wait to leave. This is just a front for mill animals and it's absolutely heart breaking. I had a long conversation with my kids in the car afterwards why we should not be supporting places like that!

These people saved my bunny. It wasn't eating so I brought it in. Great help with suggestions. They said it was a wild bunny which I bought at a flea market but the people there really helped big time

It's a very small pet store packed with plenty off pet goodies! What they lack in size they make up for in customer service, product knowledge and useful tips in animal care. After going to a few of the big box stores for information an pet care tips on our newest family member Arty the Axolotl most of the places recommended animal house or had no idea on how to care for them. We walked into animal house armed with questions and Google on standby and wow they put us at ease and we left with a few essentials an treats for Arty.

Variety of animals and pets, supplies, great pets food, and customer service. They are helpful, keep place in clean and great atmosphere. You can came with your kids and enjoy your visit

This place is sweet. They always have large varieties in animals and accessories. I generally go there for my fish collection. They are always rotating what species they get and have a very good selection of healthy fish. They do have some rarer species come in every once in awhile and I try to get those fish, lol. I cant get enough. I've bought fish, chickens, hamsters and all kinds of things from animal house over the years. They're awesome.

I have shopped here for years. I spend about 2000.00 a year on my fur babies. At this store. The dog food I would buy is like 80.00 a bag. It was recalled (victory) hero grain free. I don't like storing it in the bag so I use a rolling dog food bin. I was told that if I have a receipt I could get Refund or store credit would have worked for me. I bought a different kind of food health extension. Btw that food my dogs love. I called the store because I found the receipt and I still have the food. I was told I would not get a refund without the bag. I have been a customer of theirs for years. I am very disappointed and will not do there again.

I’ve been going here for over 10 years. The nicest staff in the world 🌎 very helpful. Very clean and Fish Tanks, Reptile and Bird cages are always well taken care of. You don’t even have to buy anything you can bring the family to see the animals the staff condones it. If you get a chance stop in.

I came for cbd dog treats for my anxiety ridden pup. Rousing my fingers. This place is just packed with stuff. They have some pets there (birds, fish, etc, they looked weel taken care of but I always feel so bad for them😪

We love to come here and see the animals. They have everything from exotic fish to baby ducks. We usually go to just see the animals. Best part. It doubles as a mini zoo!

My cockatiel was born from the store. She is healthy & happy also I bring her in to get nails & wings clipped. I am totally against live pet stores however if they license keep everything clean especially the animal's living area! The staff are very friendly & knowledgeable and this is the biggest part - all the birds & animals look very healthy & clean which is a major plus!

It's a fun store, yes! I love seeing the animals. I would keep it to just buying supplies here. The only two pets we bought from here passed away shortly after getting them from animal house 😭. We are huge animal people and all of our other pets have long happy lives.

Everyone is very helpful, I have a very Finicky cat, she is very difficult to find food for. At Animal House, I didn't have a problem finding Zoey, something she liked with the large selection of cat food. Awesome place to shop for your little 😺🐕🐈🦜🕷🐍 Furry, friend. 👍

Don't support breeding and sales of animals. Do these animals and yourself a favor and find a local shelter or rescue to adopt from. As long as you meet the requirements, the rescue will do everything they can to ensure the animal you're adopting will be a good fit and usually set you up with all the necessary supplies and food to get started. You will usually get a period of time where you can return the pet should it not work out for you. Thousands of exotic pets are killed and abandoned every year because stores like this one stock their inventory from breeders and keep selling to literally anyone. You can pop in there right now and buy a rabbit, then eventually realize, (or your kid loses interest) that the rabbit is a lot of responsibility. So you just drive to some remote area and dump it like so many other people do. All of these abandoned animals come from pet shops who will never honestly educate the buyer on the real commitment and standards that come with an exotic pet. Otherwise, literally no one would buy one! This place is operating for a profit only. If they do have any kind of love for animals, it's completely misguided or they simply see animals as objects rather than living beings that require a significant amount of respect and commitment. If you're set on an animal you see at Animal House Pet Center, maybe just wait a few months. It will probably turn up at a shelter or rescue.

This is my go to for all my bird and fish needs. Their selection variety is way above other local stores. I also added to my flock on one stop in to grab seed. Our baby Sherbert is almost a year old now..

Took my parrot to be boarded due to a family emergency. They are very reasonably priced. Lots of employees around so I was satisfied he would be looked after. I would give a higher rating but, I found out that they never let the birds out of their cages and the cages are not large. They also had enough food (fresh fruits & veggies, and nuts & dried fruits) to feed my bird for 2 weeks, and they kept it all when he was only there 3 days.

We feel so at home here with all the exotic birds and other critters...and the helpful staff! Great place. Great people. Quality products. We even brought home our new kitten, Sabrina, and she is a healthy happy loving little joy!

I bought a sun conure from here at 3 months old and he is the sweetest, tamest bird ever. staff is super helpful and very well trained. thanks animal house!

Everytime we go here we get a bird This place is the best kiwi and Suzu have good homes now and like our sun conure :)

I boarded my cockatiel here when I had to leave for a work trip. The staff here are caring, and easy to work with, and the price for bird boarding is very reasonable. The store is very cool too. They have an amazing selection of things for a large variety of pets. It’s always fun to go in and see which large birds and other animals they have out to interact with customers. Love this place!

I first came just to buy flea treatment for a dog that runs around my neighborhood and has fleas very bad. But the gentleman that worked there informed me that if her fleas were real bad to give her a flea bath first. So I bought an organic neem oil and oatmeal flea and tick shampoo skeptical about how well this would actually work and to my surprise! It worked wonderfully. It killed most of the fleas if not all of them, including the ones on her face where I didn’t even scrub. Thanks for the great advice with our team effort this little girl has no more fleas! Now hopefully I can speak with there owner about how cheap it is to treat her each month.

Animal house is truly such an awesome pet store. We have gotten some of our best furry friends here! Andrew the manager is so helpful and wonderful, as are the other staff. Always a joy getting to stop by.

The most awesome pet shop I've ever been in! Bearded dragons, African grays, Boas - you name it, they got it. The employees were very friendly & very knowledgeable. It's a lot to take in, but there were plenty of employees throughout the store ready to help with any of my questions. Totally recommend this place & I will definitely be returning. I am now obsessed with glo-fish! "Genetically modified fish"-Who would've known such a thing existed?

Awesome store. Lots of different types of animals to look at. Lots of pet supplies to pick from. Got to hold the birds and rabbits. And loved the baby ducks. My grandson enjoyed being able to hold a duck for the first time. Fun place to shop.

The best pet store in St Pete! They offer a little bit of everything here! From 🦜 to snakes🐍 they have it all. The staff is very friendly and always happy to help! This place is fun just to stop in and see what they have and there's so much to see. They even had goats!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Star all the way!! ✅ plenty of parking ✅ very friendly staff ✅ so much to see Highly recommended!!
