Beautiful mtb park.. Mount Stromlo hosted some of the best and oldest mountain bike trails in Australia. In May 2006 extensive remedial work and trail reconstruction was commenced by World Trail in partnership with Canberra Off-Road Cyclists mountain bike club and the ACT Government. Stromlo Forest Park now includes more than 35 kilometres (22 mi) of cross country single trail, a Four-Cross course, several observed trials areas and a downhill track. Mount Stromlo hosted the 2009 UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships that attracted more than 30,000 visitors from up to 40 countries. The event involved more than 750 of the world's top riders who competed in the four mountain bike disciplines of Cross Country, Downhill, Four Cross and Observed Trials. In addition to the mountain biking facilities Mount Stromlo also boasts an event pavilion with office space and change rooms, a kids play area, BBQs, a road cycling criterium circuit, a groomed grass cross country running track and equestrian trails. information is from Wikipedia

I loved stromlo forest park, it is amazing. The trails are so cool and they have tracks to suit all riders and riding styles. The place is massive so you can spend days getting to know it all. There is plenty of wildlife on and around the park which is lovely to see. I really enjoyed snaking of the wild black berries growing on the hillside. I also found a cute little fairy Warren. I'll be back and i strongly recommend that you take the time to come and enjoy what is on offer here. Amazing and beautiful

Rented a Kona Process 134, rode up the first time, caught the shuttle the second time. Great trails, really enjoyed the visit. And to top it, you can get a beer afterwards.

My 12 year old kid loves the downhill in Stromlo! We had so much fun! The best bike park! It has easy, intermediate and hard trails. It has a lot of options or tracks to choose from. We never get tired riding in the area. On the tracks , you get enchanted to see all those fairy colourful little doors that gives you that magical feeling:)!

Stromlo is Disneyland for Mountain Bikes with something for everyone from toddlers to world champion downhill racers. Next to the car park is a large paved area where kids and scooter riders can run around in circles, there's a beginner set of dirt jumps next to the cafe, big clean bathrooms, a great cafe, and the whole place is well sign posted with some fantastic long tracks that scale the adjoining Mt Stromlo. I'm an amateur with a basic bike and few skills, but I had a great time here, and the trail maps and signs are well set out allowing you to explore the entire site with ease. There's a huge parking area out front, and even on a busy day you won't run into too many riders once you get clear of the cafe and car park. There's a number of hour long well-graded tracks that gently scale the mountain then give you a 15-20 minute downhill blast, but also some deadly black runs if you want to risk broken bones and impressive grazes. And if you're here just for fun, and no exercise, there's a bus that will cart you and your bike to the top for $10 a run, or $70 a day.

The reason why I never left Canberra and probably never will. The day I discovered Stromlo with my trusty hard tail Trek, I was hooked. After the ride. I immediately grabbed my phone and googled the 10-day weather forecast, checked my roster and set up a reminder for my next ride. Went home with a high and a smile. I was day dreaming that someday I can buy my first full suspension bike and purchase a home near Stromlo. Ten years and five bikes later, I now live in one of the suburbs near my beloved mountain. Perfect for my young and active family!

🎵 Oooh baby, do you know what that’s worth? Oooh, Heaven is a place on earth!🎵 STROMLO really is a heaven on earth. I’ve been coming here for years, but every time I come, I still have a killer time. That said, the key is using the shuttle to the top, so you can pound down to the start without jelly legs and arms. Also enjoy a beer at the bottom at the end of the day

Best place for mixed training. Run the beautiful trails with breath taking views or take to the grass tracks for something a bit more cushioning on the joints. The car parking is currently being renovated and once completed this space will be super

Square Rock is a beautiful walk with the magnificent view at the end. The walk is not too difficult and does not require a high level of fitness.

  • 5/5 Ian H. 5 years ago on Google
A nice easy climb, a total climb of a little over 200 metres in around 10km return walk. I enjoyed not having to do long steep climb as I've found in other Namadgi walks, but still nice views and a bit of rock scrambling at the top. I saw many birds and even at one stage heard some black cockatoos not very far away.

Stromlo Forest Park is a fantastic community resource. It has something to offer bike riders of all persuasions, runners, walkers, and equestrians. The trails are well built and make use of natural features to add to the fun. The views from the top of the mountain provide a very nice outlook across Canberra. Loop number 2 is a favourite.

  • 5/5 Jason W. 1 year ago on Google
Great space not just for mountain bikers of all styles and skills/age. The grass running track has loops that allow you to set your own distance, the bitumen cycling circuit (video) is perfect for skates, scooters and young ones learning to ride. Plus just cross country running, equestrian trails. BBQ, toilets, kids play equipment.

This is one of premier sports venues in Canberra. Here it is, the Grand Prix Triathlon was held here. Great athletes! So professional bicycle tracks, running tracks on greens, professional 50m swimming lanes, you can find all of them in one place!

This is a beautiful spot for walking. Lovely manicured lawns amongst the bush. Plenty of wildlife to enjoy, too. Lots of kangaroos, love hearing the kookaburras. Have seen an owl on a signpost and a wombat rustling through the scrub.

Always my go to when I'm in Canberra! Usually on the XC bike but plenty of variety from rough stuff to fun flowing descents! Great feed at the handlebar along with local beer available! And shuttles are available which is handy!

  • 5/5 Sai C. 1 year ago on Google
Best park with various mountain bike trails and trail signs all over the area according to their difficulties. Many activities for kids. There's even a bike rental shop for someone who wants to check it out before they buy. At the end of the day, you got a small restaurant with alcohol and food served fresh. I would love to visit again. Revisit: This time, there were more cars and it was good to see many biking hobbyists at one place. That small restaurant was full and more fun this time. Coming back again.

Amazing tracks for every experience level. Definitely worth the drive from Sydney even for the day trip. Special thanks to the paramedics and fellow riders on the tracks who sorted me out after I had a slight mishap/ get off resulting in busted ribs, collarbone and unconscious for a few minutes. Thanks legends, much appreciated 🙏

First visit to Stromlo and went with a group of mates. I'm not the most fittest rider, nor the most experienced, but this place challenged me and took me well out of my comfort zone. If I was on my own, don't think I would have done half the things I did, but in saying that, I'm glad I went to challenge myself. This place is amazing, and I'll definitely go back another time to tackle the tracks and improve my MTB skills.

Great place for riding, trail running, star gazing or just a fun day out in nature. The park has had a bit of a business reboot and trails are now well maintained with a chance for a hot meal or coffee at the bottom!

A wonderful resource on Canberra's doorstep. Both of my kids learnt to ride here and it's continually evolving and adding new tracks. Beware of the hundreds of mamils on the weekend riding far-too-expensive-bikes and supping on craft beer.

Superb facilities. And Anyone from Sydney will be completely jealous of the Canberrans and their awesome place to MTB. The facilities are excellent the food and beer available is an absolutely welcome sight. The trails well marked and correctly labeled for skills. And the bus up the mountain is frequent but busy. (Book ahead).

Love Stromlo Forest Park! Great location of a hike/walk/run/ride. You name it the facilities are there and they are great! Plenty of onsite parking. Bathroom facilities and water bubblers. The running track is well maintained and great for pace training, looking for more of a challenge, take the fire trails to the peak. Great views all the way.

Worth walking, easy going trail. The view from the rock is breath-taking. Go and stand on the rock, SHOUT OUT TO WHOEVER YOU WANT, but be very very carefully, if its windy then there is chances of falling. I loved the place. Wow! Note: There are few lockouts on the trail, plz ignore it. Not worth it.

Great views. Kids loved the caves but needed an occasional "don't run of the cliff" warning. They found the geocache. My 5yo got 25000 steps on his watch. He was very proud.
