Some background info: Got into cycling about 8 months ago, bought a 6 year old Cannondale CAAD12 (56cm, 105 groupset), after putting in some serious mileage I decided to get a proper bike fit from the FitLab team (best in the business imo), and as I suspected the 56cm frame wasn’t a good fit for me. Shopped around for weeks, researching paints, weights, geometries, best value brands, what is an actual upgrade vs marginal gain, etc. etc. (you can relate I’m sure). Finally landed on the model I wanted, it had the components and geometry I needed, and was in stock at Piermont. From the very first call with Sunny, to see if they’d be able to accommodate some weird parts I’d need (165mm cranks), I knew I was in good hands. Let’s be honest, for most of us, New Bike Day will be a pretty rare occurrence, and as such, it’s important to enjoy ! Well the team at Piermont just…”gets it.” Yeah they have awesome bikes, a smoothie shop, carbon wheels, and anything else you could wish to drop some $$ on…but the most impressive part of the store is how they treated me as a new customer. They asked if I wanted a coffee, brought me back to see the bike being built and tuned, I was able to chat with Jason for a while about fitting, the value of functional movement, and to be honest the guy’s knowledge and experience seemed endless. I know they sell bikes far more expensive than what I purchased and it didn’t seem to matter whatsoever. Not a hint of trying to upsell me on anything, just happy to get me a bike that seemed to work for me and fit my budget. (If only car dealerships were similar) Even as I walked outside and there were fellow cyclists congratulating me on my NBD. I woke up early and really hoped the day would live up to the hype and honestly, my experience with Dennis, Sunny, Jason, and the mechanics (sorry didn’t catch the names) - exceeded all expectations. I’m one of those people that rarely go out of their way to leave a review because most often my experience as a customer is just middle-of-the-road, neither horrible, nor fantastic. However, after spending time at Piermont, I felt like this was the least I could do. This is a place that understands the excitement around a new bike, the importance of treating a customer with honesty and attentiveness (Sunny was constantly updating me on ETA’s, apologizing for small wait times, you name it), and their passion is undeniable. It really set the tone as I left with a new bike and reminded me how inclusive and incredible this hobby/sport can be. Thanks again to you guys and I have no doubt I’ll be back soon for some more stuff.

Purchased a LOOK road bike a few days ago and could not be happier. If you are in the market for a new bike I would highly recommend this shop. Ask for Sonny - he was my sales rep and he was a tremendous help.

I had two different fitters before seeing Jason which was two years ago. I was having saddle problems and knee pain and it was painful to ride. Not only Jason was very thorough and technical but he was very informative about what was going on and why some of the changes are being made which I really liked. One of the plus point for me was after making those changes, he lets you ride and test the fit during the session out in the real world and I was able give feedback after the test ride which none of my previous fitters did that. The bike shop staffs were also really friendly and their service is great. It’s been couple of weeks now and I already feel so much comfortable on my bike. I would definitely comeback in the future if I ever need to revisit my fit again. I also got the custom foot beds and they are a game changer. I highly recommend getting fit from Jason.

We stumbled upon this place on our way home and we’re so glad we did. My dad has been on the hunt for a specific bicycle part and the gentleman who helped us was very knowledgeable and friendly. Prices were reasonable compare to other shops in the area. Will definitely be back. Parking was easy.

I purchased an expensive Scott addict rc road bike here for $8000 in the end of July. I had tons of issues with the bike because it wasn’t assembled correctly. My chain was dropping a lot plus I almost crashed because my handlebar was loose and it tilted downward. I expressed my issues to the shop after a week I owned it and they offered me some solutions. I wanted to either exchange the road bike for some other one of similar value, or get a refund. They told me to do a warranty for a new frame first because of scratches around the bottom bracket area because of the chain drops which I never wanted in the first place. I’ve asked them to trade in the bike for something else and they only would give me half the amount I paid. I’m very disappointed in what happened and will never come here again. This is honestly unacceptable. Be very careful in buying a high-end road bike from here. If I would’ve known this bicycle had issues like that I would never purchase it in first place but the salespersons here are dishonest. They explained me that the issues with the chain drops were common with sram; however, never mentioned it me prior I purchased the bike. They wouldn’t offer to switch the sram group set to shimano unless I paid extra but they change frame for warranty which makes no sense and installed a chain keeper. I didn’t need that frame at all but I know the reason they did that. Also, they lied about their trade-in program to me because I traded a trek road bike and I thought it would be through bicycle-blue book, but they just put on eBay auction and sell it for higher price than they give as a trade-in value. I would not recommend this bike shop at all.

What an awesome bike shop! I ordered a Pivot Shuttle SL Pro XO from this shop that had a $2200 discount and only $260 to assemble and ship. No other bike ship in the country evens comes close to this pricing. The bike arrived in a few days. I could not be any happier! I am a customer for life! I highly recommend!

I had my bike fitting done by Jason and it was truly incredible. He not only put my bike into shape to match my physique, but he also recommended various PT exercises to improve my mobility and range of motion. I didn't realize how important this was and how much it would change the way I ride. I was also surprised by how many crucial adjustments were actually possible. He watched me bike and helped me improve my position and pedaling form. It was an exceptional learning experience and has significantly improved my comfort when riding, my speed, and how I feel afterwards (no more pain!). Thank you! Also, Sunny helped me with the purchase with my bike and he is extremely knowledgeable and helpful in every possible way. I come here whenever I need accessories or just advice, and Sunny always has the best suggestions and is always able to recommend exactly what I need. I wouldn't shop anywhere else for bike gear.

I'm happy I got my bike fitting at Piermont with Jason. He is a wealth of knowledge and I know he has a lot of experience fitting bikes. For the full four hours, he was eager to answer my questions and encouraged me to ask more. I do feel like my bike fitting didn't need to be four hours. There were a lot of extraneous tasks performed that if forgone, could have still been a great bike fitting, in less time. I wish there were a shorter bike fitting option available to those who have never had a custom fitting in order to save the customer time and money.

I enjoy shopping for my cycling needs up here, even though it is a long drive (I reside in Morris County NJ). The EBay program to trade your used or unneeded equipment is excellent, and I have used it get good deals on stuff. The salespeople are friendly and able to help you make a satisfactory selection, I have never had a problem with anything at this shop. Highly recommended.

I have a fleet of high-end mountain bikes. I often do my own repairs but when I don't have the time or the right tools, I come here. Although it's mostly known as a roadie shop (they have a coffee bar ...hahaha), the mechanics always do a good job on my bikes. Turnaround is relatively quick and I never feel like I'm being ripped off. They also stock a lot of high end parts at reasonable prices. I definitely recommend Piermont Bicycles.

Brought a new buddy here to see Jason for a 3 hour comprehensive bike fit. Piermont bike shop is renowned in the tri state area for its expertise. Cycling from Merrick to Dyker Heights and finally here after 70 miles. Jason was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in all aspects of the bike fit process. While waiting for my buddy, I decided it best to buy a bottle of Napa valley Caymus and inebriate a bit. Red wine 🍷 facilitates good blood flow and should amplify the pedal strokes 😇. As the wine flowed so did the pedals and time. My buddy agreed it was worth the trip & $450. I will come back for my 2nd fit since 2021.

Nice shop in a great location. Plenty of cyclists in and out, so the place was busy when I arrived. Nonetheless, Sunny was great and helped me pick up my bike order in a timely manner. I decided to upgrade my stock wheels on the spot, and the mechanic took care of me asap. The coffee/snack bar was a nice touch.

Totally wonderful shopping experience at Piermont Bicycle Connection. Extremely knowledgeable and patient salesperson who helped me to choose the exact right bike for me. He watched me ride a couple of bikes to see how I was fitting on the frame, adjusted the handlebars & seat so that I was properly riding, and corrected my posture & riding style so I will avoid injury. Ultimately I ended up ordering a new bike, as well as a good selection of accessories, This is a top notch place with very seasoned staff who know their stuff and enjoy their work environment. 5 stars !!!

I recently had a lousy experience with the bike mechanics. I had brought my bike for maintenance and about a week after I got it back, I started having problems with the gears. When I took it back again, they insisted they had no responsibility, that it was something separate. Maybe. What annoyed me was the patronizing attitude they had. They even openly mocked me WHILE I was waiting. One mechanic in particular had big mouth I do not need to pay people to be rude to me. I won't go back. They did not even do a good job - I still have trouble with my gears.

I have been exchanging bikes at Piermont Bicycle Connection for years. They always give me a fair value on my current bike and always make great recommendations on the next bike to buy. I am a serious leisure rider who loves a fantastic smooth ride. The bikes I’ve gotten never disappoint, the team is terrific to work with, especially Frank who advises me honestly. Having had a recent hip replacement, getting the bike that is comfortable is highly important! And Jason really fine-tuned the bike just for me with a fit-lab session.

Glenn and his boys are the best. They’re a family of bike minded souls. I’ve been a fan and I hope good friend since the shop opened. I recently had a bike fitting with Jason. He’s a genius. Most comprehensive fitting I’ve ever had. Love you boys!!! Zic

I bought my first full suspension MTB at this place, and from phone conversations to picking up the bike has been thoroughly a walk in the park. Friendly atmosphere, knowledgeable and helpful staff. I would definitely recommend this bike shop to any bike aficionados!

I been shopping from Gleen couple years and always is satisfying experience, Gleen he is a gentleman when it comes to business. Always trying his best to get what his customers needs. He preached his philosophy that customers comes first to all his staffs. It worth the trip from NJ to Ny, besides Piermont is a charming and beautiful town.

The team at Piermont did an excellent job in fixing my bicycle. I use the bike for indoor training and needed it to be done quickly. I dropped it off this morning and they did it in a few hours. Replaced a snapped rear derailleur cable and front cable, rewrapped the handle bars and even discovered I had left a spacer off the hub, put one on, and adjusted everything perfectly. Great experience

I've bought 2 bicycles from PBC over the years. No issues with either one. These guys have one of the largest, if not the largest shop in the NYC Metro area. They get PLENTY of business, they are very professional, their shop services operate like a dealership, they don't play games with their product. On my last bike purchase I found a small defect on one of the wheel's decals when I got home, they exchanged my wheel the next day, VERY happy with their service. Having said that, they will sell you the bikes at industry standard prices, there are no deals to be had here (at least that's my experience on the 2 purchases I have made there). I've also gotten a fit at their Fit-Lab. Their mo-cap setup is state of the art, Jason is a great (the only other comparable fitter in the area, in terms of expertise, is Happy Friedman). He has an answer to every question and will address your IMMEDIATE concerns rather well. Big emphasis on immediate because following up is a different story. In my experience, it can take a few weeks to get used to a new bike fit; I've reached out, on multiple occasions, with additional fit questions after this period to NO RESPONSE. My only assumption is that you are expected to shell for the additional 60 min consultation, if that's the case it's unfair to have to do that for minor fit questions, especially after I had purchased a new bike from them (MSRP for 2021 stock in May 2022, but hey, bike is great). This also brings me to my next point. Their comprehensive bike fit is $433, it includes about 3 hours with a fitter (I did not get any wattage information during my fit, make sure you ask for this). They DO NOT apply any percentage of this cost to a bike purchase, keep this in mind if you are planning to also buy a bike from them. Overall, I may or may not buy another bike from them in the future (maybe they'll have a specific model I am looking for). While I am happy with their service their priority is running their business, and they get plenty of it so if you don't buy their product someone else will. Like I said, you get industry standard, there are no deals to be had here. On the other hand, I would not recommend their fitting services unless you have a difficult to address problem, or you are looking for something incredibly specific or technical. And even then, you are paying for the immediate expertise only, so keep that in mind.

Do most of my own work, save for brake bleeds and tire sealant. The Piermont shop handled both issues for two mountain bikes of mine for a reasonable price. Also cleaned up the bikes and gave general feedback on condition, which was appreciated.

This was my first visit to Piermont bicycle connection; which is not my lbs, but for sure will be the place i want to go when time permits. Everyone that came in to the shop was greeted warmly, and treated well; there was a range of ages and ethnicities which I appreciate. I got a bike fit from Jason. I was definitely the only impediment to Jason doing his job as a bike fitter. I had had an unusually late night the day before, which lead me to not really being 100% the day of the fit. Despite my lack of articulation the bike fit was great. After two weeks of post fit riding: I am free of numb hands, saddle pain is no longer an issue, knee pain i used to get after an hour or so in the saddle is all cleared up. I got custom insoles which have reduced the hot spots in my shoes and made them infinitely more comfortable over long and short rides. i reserve 5 stars for when the review is a positive as above but i also get a handsome mans discount (so no 5 stars from me, ever...)

This is my first professional fit and let me tell you it went very well. I previously had problems with my lower back, neck pain, knee pain, and shoulder every time i rode my bike. I know i was a mess. After getting a fit with Jason Barcoff i saw the immediate change on the feeling of my bike. I’m looking forward on how continue to feel on the bike. Big thanks to him. I sincerely recommend getting a fit there to my friends or anyone looking to get a fit.

Excellent customer service. Even though I got my bike from a different dealer in a different state, I needed help finding a very special piece. Despite me trying to contact the bike manufacturer, I was unable to get the piece and decided to ask Sunny at Piermont cycle for help. Without hesitation, he used his knowledge and contacts and I was able to order the replacement piece so I can ride again!!

I wanted a bike and I wanted it fast so I found this shop that stocked it and called, left a deposit and a few days later I called to pick it up. The whole process was great and I felt like an appreciated customer. Too many bike shops have lost the vision of taking care of the customer, many shops today make me want to buy a canyon, this shop MAKES me want to buy from a local bike shop. I have raced everything from beginner BMX to professional road racing snd have dealt with hundreds of shops all over the country and the attitude and service of both the guys I dealt with, frank and glen, was positive and upbeat. Thank you Piermont bicycle connection.
