This place has become one of my favorite spots in the summer. There is so much to do here, but the best thing was the musical performance of the orchestra. Was a wonderful "Midsummer's romance" evening with my partner in crime. ❤️

Great place to visit in the heart of Minneapolis. It’s as clean as possible, the only negative is the lake is polluted with nitrates from lawn fertilizers. The weeds are daunting. But overall the lake is beautiful and the pavilion is great too.

Harriet lake is always bustling with families and friends. Right in the heart of the city. It's always a pleasure to have quiet evenings with liesure strolls and see the paddle boats and machine boats going around the lake. Beautiful walking and biking trails, well connected to the adjacent lake Calhoun.

Great bands/music, good bathrooms, and awesome playground! We got a grill on a holiday and just waited a little bit for a table in the shade. Super fun experience!!!

Nice park! The nature, quieter but still cultured side of minneapolis.

A personal favorite in a city with several fabulous lakes and trail systems. Lake Harriet Bandshell Park offers music and movies, great food and service at Bread & Pickle, watercraft rental, fishing dock, a large swimming beach nearby, and a wonderful playground, rose garden, and streetcar rides just off the lake. Magical in any season.

What a beautiful park right next to the river! There is a lot of space to move around. There are also a lot of paths to ride a bike. Parking was available at a very low price. The sunsets are beautiful! During the summer they have different activities, I can’t wait to come back!

I have enjoyed every event I've attended here. The "Movies in the Park" events have been especially fun as they invite local bands to play before each film. The final film was "The Last Starfighter" & the exceptional band was The Last Import. Indeed Brewing had a beer tent & a vintage video game arcade was set up. Highly recommended!

Went on a warm Friday evening to see MN orchestra. It was an awesome show. Great venue. Only negative long lines at foodstand.

This is a terrific venue. Normally you can see performances every evening during the summer. Movies on weekends. All with a beautiful lake in the background. A wonderful dining opportunity with the Bread and Pickle restaurant literally feet away with a terrific picnic menu from sandwiches, burgers, fries, salads, and beverages popcorn and ice cream. Enjoy!

This is a lovely place to take in nature or, as we love to do, attend the Music in the Park series. It's beautiful and very popular. However, there is very limited parking. One mid-size pay parking lot nearby. Otherwise there is street parking, but plan on parking and walking. There is a lot of seating, plenty of benches, so there's no need to bring chairs of your own, unless you need shade. There are a few trees nearby, but these spots get claimed fast, so if you're planning on snagging one of these spots, come early. There is a little food stand nearby, as well as bathrooms. It's a beautiful spot to visit!

I mean this is a park with boats, but also why is this here. Why is it Russian. I would give this 5 stars but given it is not related to the Jayhawks I give it 0. Unbelievable, do better. How could someone do such a thing. What does it mean,?!!?! What does any of it mean

Had a great time with my granddaughters at Lake Harriet. Took some pictures and rode the paddle boats. My only complaint is that the paddle boats were not clean at all. The staff was very nice and helpful but the boats definitely need to be cleaned.

The bandshell at Lake Harriet is always good to visit in the summertime. There was an outdoor concert just like always, despite covid-19. Afterwards you could take a bike around the lake, or just sit my the lakeshore like lots of people were doing. Life is good.

In the midst of Minneapolis residential areas, Lake Harriet provides a pleasant escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The convenient and well-maintained walking paths around the lake are relaxing and restoring whether in summer or winter. The bandshell and concessions make this a natural convening place, pleasant for a quick break after going around the lake.

Great place to run or ride your bike. Just be aware it can get a little crowded sometimes.

Great family-friendly place to enjoy our dreamy Minnesota summers! Take a walk around the lake, rent a paddle board, listen to some music, hammock, ride the trolley, try sailing or grab a bite to eat and just soak in the happy warm weather vibes — it’s honestly one of my favorite spots in the cities! There are sooo many stellar options available here.

  • 5/5 Evie M. 3 years ago on Google
There is a bike path and a separate walking/running path. Bike path is one way which is nice! Beautiful view of the lake and Minneapolis sky line in the distance.

Huge bandshell with wide variety of outdoor music and movies. No motors make the lake perfect for quiet water sports. Remember to check out the rose garden and meditation garden while here!

Awesome place. They serve hotdogs, burgers, ice cream, beer and more. The walk around the lake is about 1.5 hours, it's about 2.8 miles and is a beautiful place to walk. There is a path dedicated for walking, then a path next to it dedicated for cycling and if youd like to drive your way around the lake, there is even a little one way road to drive around it.

Had some burgers and ice cream for the kids. Lovely to sit and eat while enjoying the breeze off of the lake. My son loved the ice cream and seeing fish in the lake. It is a go to for us every time we visit from California.

We've always loved the atmosphere at the lake. I used to belong to a sailing club on the lake. There is a nice permanent food vendor too.

Acceptable picnic table selection. Some old, some new. Best part is proximity to the lake. Great walking paths with concession stand. Banshee Band shell is great if your there for a show.

A nice park with good view and access to the lake. The park and facilities are in need of some maintenance. Shingles missing, loud playground equipment, and downed trees took away from the experience.

One of the highlights of the park is the bandshell, which hosts a variety of events and performances throughout the summer months. It's a great spot to relax and enjoy live music or a movie under the stars. There are also plenty of walking and biking trails around the lake, making it the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to the natural beauty, the park is also very well-maintained and clean. The facilities are top-notch, including a playground for kids, picnic areas, and even a nearby beach. Whether you're a local looking for a weekend getaway or a visitor exploring Minneapolis, Lake Harriet Bandshell Park is a must-see destination. Highly recommend!

The area is beautiful and we had a good time but the Bandshell itself STINKS as on smells terrible like the structure is rotting. We rode our bikes around there. Very nice.

One of my favorite walks! The trail is paved with separation between pedestrians and bicyclists. The trail will be crowded with people and dogs, bit it's still well worth it. Be sure to take a stroll through the rose garden!

My wife's employer had a gathering with employees and spouses and spouses families. Nice place together had a small concert. It's an exit place to gather with family and friends or just yourself to enjoy the lake and surrounding area. Very popular with people and families and pets.

Lake Harriet is THE SPOT! I mean there is DO much to do here its a full day hang out. First, you got the lake of course, which is so beautiful that just sitting by the water and listening to the waves is truly a blessing. Then the food menu is top notch! Your out of the sun when you order the food which is great! The picnic areas are clean and neatly put together. The trails are wide and open. No moving off the side for the on coming person 😃 and the parking lots are decently sized, and there is multiple parking lots, so if 9ne is filled there is another one next door! If you want a family day in the sun, this is the place!

Love to go to music in the park during the summer here. Great atmosphere. Lots of seating and can brings blanket or chair to sit on the grass if you want. Parking lot fills up fast so might need to park and walk from a side street.

My wife and I had previously only been here for our kids prom pictures. She found us a Fleetwood mac tribute band (Visions) to go watch on a beautiful Sunday fun-day. The venue, surrounding area, band and people watching were all amazing!! The place was pretty packed with people and we really enjoyed ourselves. If I had to be critical I would say its time for some new shingles and definitely time for new flags. Hoping to find other shows in the future to bring us back. #TinaandtheB-sides please

I go here every year, multiple times!! Great spot in the summer for FREE live music, outdoor movies and connecting with friends! I LOVE biking there and enjoying a laid back evening outside. Bring your own blanket/chairs, coolers and snacks...or enjoy the benches provided and food/drink from Bread & Pickle - the lakeside restaurant. Come prepared or come with nothing and you’ll have a great experience. Very pet and kid friendly. One of the best local stops around!!

Of the several bandshells built on the site, this is one of the better ones. Public concerts are common in the warmer months. There is a limit to the seating provided, so it doesn't hurt to bring your own just in case. If it is a colder day, do bring a wind breaker layer as the wind from the lake can give a bit of a chill.

👍👍 Had a great experience at this stadium watching Rammstein. Security was efficient and friendly. Had some fried cheese curds that were the best I have ever had. Prices for concessions suck though. The concert it's self sounded great. However the music playing before the show could barely be heard....
