I love the falls! Especially in the spring right after the snow melts when it's really roaring. The area around the falls is well maintained as far as walking trails/bridges/stairs go, but the natural beauty that surrounds you is the best part!

Beautiful, relaxing, scenic, peaceful, worth visiting, family-friendly and a memorable place to visit if you haven’t before! Even if you have, I highly recommend visiting here at least once during each of the four main seasons! The frozen falls in winter are gorgeous, and the falls are also quite a sight to see in the day or days after rainstorms especially too! If we are experiencing a severe drought, the water flow can be minimal but even still, the trails and Sea Salt eatery are still worth your time! This park is very popular in the warmer months for picnic parties and large group gatherings too!

Really cool place to visit with my family and check out the frozen waterfall! You can park near the Sea Salt restaurant and walk down to see the top of the waterfall or take a hike to get to the bottom. Today was one of the coldest days of the year with a feel like temperature of -30⁰ so we only walked down to see the top of the waterfall, took some photos and went back to the car as we are from Florida and not used to these extreme temperatures.

Good parking options, but must pay at the meter. Does take cards and is only $2 an hour. Very pretty, lots of great walking paths (dirt not tarred paths). From the waterfall area it seems you need to take stairs to get to the paths so not sure if wheelchair accessible. But you can see the waterfall from above if not ablento take stairs. Next time we will bring our 5 kids with! Saw people fishing, hanging out in hammocks, and playing in the more shallow areas of the river.

Love the beauty and cultural diversity found at Minnehaha Falls. Sea Salt Eatery is always fabulous and a wonderful trail leads to the Mississippi River. A very spiritual place with many hidden gems in any season. 💙

Minnehaha Falls is beautiful place to visit and spend time outside. The weather was gorgeous today. Surprisingly there were no water falling. Very dry. Minnehaha creek was so dry almost no water in it. However many trails plenty of green trees and plants compensate the absence of water falls.

Great park with an awesome view. There seems to be a lot going on, but even though it was heavily populated, there was plenty of room everywhere to have a picnic or just hangout. There are benches there and little grills if you want to cook out. The water fall is pretty much in the middle of it and you can walk all the way down to it. Highly recommend it.

A beautiful place to visit in January! Lots of people were there exploring the park- all ages. We came to see the frozen falls. Absolutely beautiful!

Fun place to visit year round. Lots of parking, picnic tables and crushed stone walking paths along Minnehaha Creek to the Mississippi River.

To those who are unfamiliar with the falls, it is all natural and we need rain for the water to flow. It is not turned off for cleaning or maintenance. When there was still water, I was visiting at least once per week. It's therapeutic to climb up and sit under the waterfall (free therapy). The drought MN is in this year is happening globally. Prepare for food chain disruptions as we inch closer to winter. I encourage everyone to read & research what is going on in the world. Televised news will give you bits and pieces.

Great walking trails for the entire family. Quite a few steps down to the falls...but worth it!! Beautiful area. In the summer months they have bikes for rent as well and a nice little restaurant too. Highly recommend.

During our road trip, my family and I visited Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis and had a great time. The 53-foot waterfall was magnificent and a true highlight of the park. We were in awe of its beauty and took some amazing photos. Minnehaha Park itself provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a picnic. While some reviews mentioned crowds and limited access to the waterfall, we didn't find it to be a major issue during our visit. Overall, Minnehaha Falls is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Such a beautiful place to go in Minneapolis no matter what the season! We visited two days ago and were in awe of the splendor of the falls in the winter time.

A hidden treasure in a very unlikely place. Minnesota does a really good job of valuing and maintaining natural beauty in urbanized environments. The way the park and activities are cradled inside the woods and natural feeling trails is awesome! Make sure you bring mosquito spray.

The Falls are a great place to visit with people visiting the state and might be a nice date location as well. It doesn't take too long to walk around the entire Falls and there is a nice park as well. It's a beautiful place and is best enjoyed in the Fall with the colorful leaves. However, the Falls is pretty cool when it is frozen as well. Parking is around $2 for an hour.

Great park to visit In Minneapolis. Love the waterfall. Directions to falls is not clearly marked but near Sea Salt restaurant. Only draw back to most places in the city is lack of free parking. Progressive also mean it can be free or a city day pass for tourists.

Gorgeous park and super lucky to have if you live here. It looks like something you'd hike an hour to but it's so easily accessible being in a neighborhood park. Great to have as a morning walk/run or a walk to walk off a meal.

Nice area. A bit crowded on Father's Day, but still OK. Lots of trails to walk beside the creek. You do have to pay for parking if you drive there. We had to circle the lot an extra time to find a spot.

This is a beautiful area to visit spring summer and fall to see the falls in action. The area surrounding the falls has beautiful walking paths and trails to walk with dogs, bicycle lanes for biking, picnic areas, playground for kids and lots more beauty to be had. Some of the photos were taken in the spring and early summer and some were taken in early fall. To give some perspective on the beauty at all time of year.

Really beautiful place. The waterfall looks really nice and is great for taking pictures of. A lot of people go right by the waterfall. Seems very dangerous to go by there as the rocks and ground can get very slippery. Would definetly visit it again and see the trails around this area also.

Amazing waterfalls within the city limits. We visited in the morning and spent a couple of hours in the area. The park and trails nearby are very well developed and maintained. Lots of historic info scattered around the area that you can walk to.

Refreshing views near an otherwise plain city, nice spot to hangout, take a nature walk or picnic. Really enjoyed our time with the fam there and will definitely go back for more. Its a wonder there is a waterfall in a city without mountains, totally loved it.

Loved taking pictures here for my daughter prom. There was a lot of beautiful and handsome young men and women there also taking pictures for their prom. Even a wedding party there. Everyone was respectful of you wanting to take pictures by standing back. Thank you to the best and most beautiful free park in MN.

The Falls are very pretty and this is a great place to go for a walk/hike. Unless you live very close, you have to drive to the park and pay for parking via an hourly meter and you cannot add time remotely. So, make sure to budget extra time on your meter as you'll likely spend more time hiking (and maybe playing in the water in warm temps) than you may think. I can see this place getting very busy on the weekends as well, especially since they have a seafood restaurant and ice cream place at the main pavilion. There are also options to rent pedal operated vehicles.

Met with 5 close friends on the bridge overlooking the falls at Minnehaha Falls Park on December 20th, 2020. It was a beautiful, sunny winter's day. Masked and social distancing, my friends joined me in celebrating my mom's 25th Anniversary of her crossing over into the next life with a brief simple ritual at dusk. It was lovely sharing this moment with friends in a beautiful setting where my mom enjoyed spending her time during her lifetime living in the Twin Cities.

I love this park! Right in the heart Minneapolis lays this oasis of nature that shows off the diversity of life and nature that is Minnesota. I grew up not far from this park and have explored and hiked here ever sense. On this trip I brought my wife, she had never seen it frozen so it was a must. She was awe struck by its size and beauty. We took the train in and even though I’ve been here more times then I can count it always blows me away how you can go from a busy large metropolis to this beautiful escape with just a short walk of the train. Five stars for sure and a must for those who haven’t been.

I’m a nature person so this is a secure spot to relax and take a nice walk. But not in the cold. Overall hot or cold this is a place to come relax the mind And seeing the waterfall frozen really made me resort back to kid mode. I recommend any one who hasn’t been GO

Minnehaha Falls is a great place to visit! If you're in town as a tourist, this is a must-see location. The falls are great to view, with multiple vantage points to get plenty of pictures and videos. The falls are even majestic when completely frozen in the winter!

  • 5/5 Zeb K. 3 years ago on Google
I've grown up with Minnehaha Falls. As a kid in the winter you climb behind the frozen falls. In the summer you know how much rain we've been getting by the volume of the falls. Walking from the falls down to the river never gets old. It's just an essential part of the twin cities.

  • 5/5 J W. 3 years ago on Google
Highly recommend the walk from the falls to the Mississippi. Takes about 25 minutes each way if you stop for pictures, etc. 108 steps from the top to the bottom of the falls!

  • 5/5 Michael O. 3 years ago on Google
This is one of the best parks in MPLS. While the Falls are the feature, don't miss the rest of the trails along the creek, including a fantastic boardwalk. There's also a great cafe and plenty of picnic tables and open spaces for a picnic if you bring your own food. There is a parking fee, but it is reasonable and street parking is free nearby if you don't mind walking.

  • 3/5 Joshua O. 3 years ago on Google
Pretty expansive park with me picnicking, walking and biking. There is also a playground and a homeless encampment. If you are looking for food options the Sea Salt is on site and open during the warmer months but otherwise the options nearby are pretty limited. Of course the falls is the highlight of any visit. Also keep an eye out for plenty of people not wearing masks. Be prepared to pay for parking by the hour.
