Slow down on your journey through life. This place is perfect to stop and meditate if you suffer from "rush sickness". Especially at sunset where you can appreciate that mixture of colors that seems mesmerizing...

Wonderful urban lake in Minneapolis suitable for sailing, canoeing, kayaking, and wind surfing. It also have week kept walking and biking trails. A new concession area is clean with good offerings and beautiful views

Hermoso Minneapolis. There is more than 10,000 lakes in Minnesota and lake BDE Maka Ska is one of the most awesome and beautiful Lagos de Minnesota. I took the photos at a time when it is the least scenic. Still some ice remains. In two months from now it will be gorgeous beyond recognition. A must see whenever visiting the pretty city of Minneapolis.

Rented a 2-person kayak and a 4- seater pedal boat for 1 hour, $63.00 total, including life jackets. Both kids enjoyed kayaking separately with their mom. The pedal boats are clunky, awkward to get in & out of (even with help from dock hands), and have a poor pedal system - hard to pedal, even with three adults. We would choose not to rent the pedal boats again. Kayaks were OK.

Hard to beat the energy at Bde Maka Ska in a city with several fabulous lakes and trail systems. Bde Maka Ska offers great walking and biking paths, watercraft rental with channels to Lake of the Isles and Cedar Lake, fishing pier, two large swimming beaches, volleyball courts, playgrounds, and streetcar line just off the lake. A much anticipated new concessions pavilion is also under construction. Magical in any season.

Just went for a walk around the lake on Memorial Day. Was a beautiful walk not sure how far guessing 2.5-3 miles. Lots of fun activities. People renting paddle boats and canoes etc. Plenty of beach space and grilling areas. Great place on a Minnesota summer day for sure.

It’s always a good walk around this lake! Sometimes a bit crowded and smelly depending on the wind, but one of my regular walking places - great access to other walking trails and shops in Uptown

The perfect 5k around the lake... flat, too. Good solid pavement with a separate bike path so you don't get run down

We went yesterday. The lake is very good. Great place on Minnesota summer day for sure. Lake water is clear. You can sit the beach and enjoy sunbath. You can read, play, sleep or do everything here whatever you want. This is a dog friendly area.

This is a very nice lake to have a "day" at. The walk around the lake is beautiful and comfortable. It's about 3 miles in all. There is a little play area for kids along the way. There are canoes, kayaks, and paddle boats and 2 beaches. Highly recommend this place.

Always a fun and interesting time. Boat rental can be found here, next to the large colorful chairs which you can sit on for a great picture by the by. Bde Maka Ska has a complete circuit for walking, biking, rollerblading, jogging. Lots of benches for wildlife watching or people watching. Lots of interesting characters

Great place to have fun in the water: paddle board/kayak, pedal or sail boat rentals. Also, you can swim and tan under the sun or just relax under the nearby tree shadows/grass...!

First time ever seeing or going on this lake. I've heard of it and just never made it in the couple years i have been in the area but we rented a couple kayaks for half a day and kayaked all the way into a small lake three lakes over. Fun day!

Quintessential Minneapolis outdoor location for everyone. Roughly 3 miles round, perfect for a walk or a jog. Always fun to feel the vibe here in spring as MPLS thaws and folks emerge. On the north end of the lake you can rent canoes and other small crafts. Food trucks, volleyball nets, bbq grates, playgrounds, and lots of spots to stop and watch. Go here when visiting MPLS:)

This is indeed a lake. It does get wet which I appreciate, something I look for in a lake. Now it does smell in the summer. Something called “fish death” that the locals explained to me. Did not like. 4 out of 7 for tree coverage on the walking paths and 3 out of 5 for toilet options.

No real public restrooms or changing places at the beaches or near the kayak and canoe rental. I find this odd. Every beach I've been to has a full bathhouse. Especially for after I've been in a kayak. Overall, the beach is nice enough, except for the guy smoking weed literally the whole time we were there. There are really nice walking and biking trails all around the lake.

I have always liked this lake. I saw that some skateboarders has a grind rail on the slab that the building used to be on. This makes me think Bde Maka Ska would be a great place for a good quality skatepark for Bikes and Skateboards!

Spent some time at the 32nd st. beach and it was lovely! Not too crowded, plenty of space, friendly ducks, good people watching, and a nice swim! Free street parking wasn't hard to find about a block away.

If the Kayak rental is closed there are still bikes to rent near by. Bike or jog around the lake. Sailing lessons available.

This is one of my favorite walking places. Recently a number of Asian carp died along the shore of the Lake. The smell of dead fish cost it one star I don't know what's up with the park board but I assume Corona virus has prevented them from cleaning this up. Advantage of this Lake it doesn't get the mill foil build-up that these smaller lakes get. It is the beach area for a large portion of uptown as well so the beaches are usually pretty packed. It is a long walk but a wonderful one highly recommend.

Should we be rating lakes? I don't know. But I love this place so why not. In the summer you can rent all the boats and the walking and biking paths are well made. Ducks and geese get their own 5 stars.

A great place to walk, bike, rollerblade, ride a scooter, or push a wheelchair.. Awesome views of the lake, sailboats, and the city skyline. Always very clean and well kept. Beaches and playgrounds for kids, and adults. Boat rentals available, and there is a restaurant as well (currently under construction).

Great sand volleyball courts to play at! If you love to bike, rollerblade, or skate they have a specific lane just for mobiles. They also have a path specifically for people walking and running which is nice and reduces the risk of injury. The lake is beautiful and a peaceful place. Somewhere I like to go for a good walk, hard run, or just to sit on the shore and take in the view. There are nice restaurants located nearby in any direction as well. Highly recommend you check it out.

Beautiful lake in the heart of the city. 3 mile walking trail loops the whole lake with a separate biking path running parallel. A few nice sandy beaches, kayak and canoe rentals, and plenty of nice grassy areas to lay out a blanket. I love living so close to this lake and visiting on a run or while walking the dog a few times each week.

Took an early morning walk and it was lovely. The pollen, pictured on my boots was gnarly and my friend couldn't breath. It was covering all the greenery/grassy parts along the shore. Fou d a cute playground with a teeter-tottery element, and we enjoyed the nostalgia it bore. Cute geese and ducks, followed. On that note, a local told us about a rogue, wild turkey that lives amongst some of the geese on the southwestern side of the lake. This turkey has apparently convinced his newly found flock to roost in the trees. This odd bunch alluded us today, but we'll find them soon, hopefully! Would recommend a trek around this lovely lake, definitely.

Lake Calhoun is a great place for a run. Wish it was a bit better lit, but hey, how many people are out running at night in the winter. Couple of rough patches on the path too.

This is a lovely city lake in the infamous Chain of Lakes. Cedar lake is the one that feeds this one, Lake Harriet and Lake of the Isles with its freshwater spring. I enjoy walking around this one. It’s about 3 miles around. A bit larger than the surrounding lakes. It has 3 beaches, 2 playgrounds and also provides boat rentals. It also has an amazing view of the downtown Minneapolis skyline. Day or night.

Good place to walk before the snow 🌨️ comes. I once saw prince driving his prowler around the lake here. Historical Minneapolis uptown lake to chill out at.

Such a beautiful lake. Great trails. Nice beaches. Close to lots of coffee/food/shopping options. Needs some work on a couple spots on the trails that have sunken or washed away, but at least there's ready ways to get around them for now.

My friend and I have been walking at a lot of parks and trails recently. This place is so beautiful. This place has great walkways and other outdoor activities available (which we did not explore). It is kept clean and it is spacious, so you won't need to cram in a single file line to walk. Many people bike here too, so this is a great place to go to get out of your house and get fresh air.

👍👍 Had a great experience at this stadium watching Rammstein. Security was efficient and friendly. Had some fried cheese curds that were the best I have ever had. Prices for concessions suck though. The concert it's self sounded great. However the music playing before the show could barely be heard....
