It's so fun to walk around and see such interesting works of art. Although museums are unique experiences of their own, being in and around large artwork is just a whole new way to appreciate the art world. I had to do a project on the piece Untitled by Jim Hodges - which is the sculpture made up of 4 boulders that have been faced with colored steel inlays. It blew my mind reading the background of the piece and how it ended up in the walker, so I highly recommend looking into it if you visit!

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a beautiful outdoor area adjacent to the Walker Art Center. Lucky for us, we visited on a sunny day, perfect for enjoying the interactive art pieces throughout the beautiful gardens. It is a must-visit for art and nature enthusiasts.

Sculpture Garden in Minneapolis: Where Art Meets Nature In Minneapolis, there's a lovely place called the Sculpture Garden. It's like a park filled with amazing sculptures. You can see big and small sculptures that tell different stories. One famous sculpture there is called the Spoonbridge and Cherry. It's huge and looks like a spoon with a cherry on top. People really like taking pictures with it. The best thing about the Sculpture Garden is how it's mixed with nature. There are trees, flowers, and ponds all around the sculptures. It feels peaceful walking there and looking at the art. You can also sit on the grass or walk around the ponds. It's nice for families too. Kids can have fun exploring and looking at the interesting sculptures. Overall, the Sculpture Garden is a cool place to visit. You can see beautiful art and enjoy nature at the same time. It's fun for everyone!

I always love coming here. It's classic to see the Spoon and Cherry and the blue rooster. Nice to park, (4$all day) and walk my dog around looking at sculptures on a cool morning.

How can you not adore the Sculpture Garden?! Besides being free, it is a fantastic place to enjoy art...right on the edge of downtown. The grounds are well-cared for and bloom with flora and fauna in warmer months. The sculptures are also well-maintained and allow you to get right up to them for the best viewing. You can't beat the cityscape views from the garden either. The Minneapolis downtown is literally right next door. Also next door is the Walker Art Center, making a double-stop almost a must-do. Not too far of a walk away is also the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The garden is open year-round. Due to location, there is no free parking but, the pay lot at the Walker is reasonably priced, especially if you're hitting more than one location while in the area. This is a gem in our city and we will always be back and brag it up!

So glad I had an opportunity to visit here and walk the grounds. I would highly recommend as a must see tourist spot if you’re planning a visit to the twin cities.

Awesome sculpture garden. Stay a while - Listen to the church bell in the distance. The park was clean and everyone was very friendly. If the food truck owners raise their prices of bottled water...it was completely my fault. $1.60 is entirely too inexpensive for a tourist area. I said to charge $3-4 and thanked them for such affordable bottles. You may get lucky and find an art festival in the neighboring park on a Saturday. A must visit while in town.

Fun to walk through and see the art. It was cold so we were not able to hang out too long. Creative and incredible artwork. The bridge was especially impressive.

Super cool sculptures! Our favorite one was the Spoonbridge and Cherry !land the blue rooster 🐓 Not sure if you can just sit anywhere around the sculptures to picnic but there is a designated seating area by the parking lot for that that also provides shade. There’s also a bridge that connects that Sculpture Garden with another stunning park and pond on the other side of the road. It’s very clean, visitors are respectful of each other

Super cool. Definitely want to see it in the spring or summer time. Needs more art though. The Cherry spoon is definitely the highlight. Would love to see blocks on the trail way of different art to walk along to the next big sculpture. Beautiful place to take your Dog on a walk and the area is very well kept up. Got to see a rare Black squirrel too! There is also a cool bridge to cross over the highway and continues to yet another beautiful park.

I’ve walked around the sculpture garden twice and I’ve always enjoyed it. The first time was in the middle of winter and the second time was during the fall and both times were fun. I’ve been told the best times to go during the year is spring/summer because then you can see all the flowers and it’s much prettier. It’s a great place to take photos too. The best part? It’s free! And parking is nearby.

Fun (free) place to visit that can fill a gap in your itinerary. We spent 45 minutes or so walking around the sculptures while waiting to check into Great Wolf Lodge. Great photo ops that are iconic of Minneapolis.

Fabulous urban sculpture park.. Great place to get away from it all, stroll, and relax. Not too large so it's easy to get around the full park easily. Awesome mix of artists and styles

We ran there one morning and it was super fun! It was a very nice tranquil walk through the sculptures and some of them were very interesting. I really enjoyed the chicken and I'm starting to understand all the crazy about the cherry spoon!

A stunning park in Minneapolis! Walking here on a hot summer evening enjoying some really cool art sculptures. Open to the public but must pay for parking. We came here to burn some time for a reservation we had booked later that evening, must say it was really relaxing sitting on the chairs near the cherry.

It's a great place to go for a walk and admire the sculptures. I'm not that into art, but it was worth going here. Kids were making their own sculptures ⛄️ ☃️(snowmen), which is modern, compared to the sculptures made by artists in the last century. People were friendly in the park. It's better to go in summer.

What a nice garden to walk around with lots of incredible sculptures in it. This is located right in front of Walker Art Center. There is a bridge that connects this Garden and Loring Park. I loved every single sculptures I saw here but due to about 10 inches snow I couldn't completely enjoy my visit. I highly recommend to wear winter boots during winter time. I took lots of nice photos here. Definitely, beautiful photo spot in Minneapolis which was very easy to access from my hotel in downtown of Minneapolis.

We got to check it out later in the day, and it was really pretty and the moon was popping out! I really enjoyed walking around and learning about the different sculptures. Parking wasn’t hard to find, and there was people there, but not too many where it was crowded or hard to walk around and see the sculptures.

Such a cool place! One of my favorite experiences that I had on my 4 day trip to Minneapolis. It had even more art than I had imagined, and was a great precursor to visiting the Minneapolis Institute of Art. One of the best all around, family friendly places I've been to in all of my travels. Would totally come back on another visit to Minneapolis!

The garden lost a lot of shade but I see a beautiful comeback happening.I love to visit the garden at least once a year with the kids. Lots of families and the ice cream truck was a plus. We park near Loring Park so that my youngest can take a swim in the kiddie pool before we head home.

Beautiful sculpture garden with a path to follow and some sculptures are interactive and child friendly. There is pieces of art throughout the entire garden. Parking is not too bad as there is a convenient parking lot with pay booths within, but it does fill up fast! I recommend keeping a photo of your license plate on your phone as several people had to run back to their cars to retrieve that information for the marking meter. There are public restrooms near the start of the garden and near the parking lot which are clean and well maintained.

This sculpture garden is not only pretty but fun with some of the quirky art. There are level, paved walks that lead you around to each piece of art and its description. There is a paid car park conveniently next to it. If you find yourself in town, take an hour to check it out.

Quite a big area to display big and interesting sculptures. A nice, relatively peaceful stroll amongst art and the Minneapolis air. The garden is free. You may have to pay for parking.

I’ve always wanted to come here, and on my third trip to Minnesota I finally did! It’s not a huge park, but it was absolutely worth a stop. The cherry spoon is the most famous but there were many other sculptures that caught my eye. It was beautiful in Fall Time!

Fun place to walk around. We came on a beautiful day and just chatted and looked at a variety of different art styles and forms. Some of the art you could interact with, while others were admired from a distance. We enjoyed coming by and seeing some of the iconic Minnesota art.

Well maintained garden with several sculptures! Quickly found this on google and “swung by” before lunch. Was expecting only a couple sculptures but was pleasantly surprised to see multiple pieces!

A beautiful place to spend some time, morning noon or night, pretty much any time of the year. There is plenty of parking and it is a beautiful open space with some very interesting and unique artwork on display. It may not be to everybody's liking, but it is for everybody to enjoy. And like so many great places in the Twin Cities, it's completely free. Highly recommended, even if you only visit for a few minutes.

Beautiful garden, gentle walking paths, art pieces were spaced nicely to allow photos. Obviously a popular spot on a day with nice weather but not so crowded as to interrupt personal enjoyment of the space. Bathrooms and food trucks available. It was $6 to park in a parking garage. Take your time and enjoy the variety of art pieces.

The garden was redesigned and refreshed in the mid 2010s. If you haven't visited since then, I recommend going. The new portion on the hill next to the Walker has a zigzagging path, a grove of chalk maples, and offers some nice views of the park and the Minneapolis skyline beyond. A day off school and beautiful fall weather made for a memorable outing for our family.

Worth a visit while in Minneapolis. I was surprised at how many sculptures were in the area and that it was completely free to visit. We paid for parking since we weren’t familiar with the area but it sounds like there is free street parking in the area as well. There is something for all ages. The iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry was our favorite! 🍒

Quiet morning (ignoring morning traffic noisiness). Tranquil time with monumental work of mind, sweat and imagination. Stonebridge and Cherry in the perfect setting and light. Reflect upon ripples and distortion of reality. Art is to be experienced. Sit in the chairs and see the artist's intent. Life is a spoon of cherry.

This is one of the best sculpture parks I've ever been to!! I loved the variety of mediums and styles. So many different things to look at. Some of my favorites were Spoonbridge and Cherry, Love, and Woman. This is a great place for all ages, and pups too. Plenty of different trails to walk on, lots of open space for picnicking, and so many benches and chairs to stop, stir, and rest. We're only in Minneapolis for a short time but will definitely be taking the time to go see it again when it's dark. I can't wait!! PS... don't forget to hit the like button if you liked my review, or thought it useful.

A cute little park with a decent view of Minneapolis' skyline. During winter, it's prettier after a fresh snowfall. The blue chicken was my favorite lol.

If you're looking to do something different in Minneapolis, then consider city sightseeing. The sculpture garden park is strategically carved out of an area that is surrounded by buildings and residential structures that any local or visitor would gravitate to on any given day. It features sculptures from sculptors from around the world. Check it out!

Beautiful and iconic Minneapolis spot. This location (including the Walker) would be in most top-10 must-see lists for the Twin Cities, I would think. You've got Loring Park, the beautiful pedestrian bridge, sculpture garden and art museum all short walks from one another. Great way to spend an afternoon!

  • 5/5 Rob J. 1 year ago on Google
I'm going to assume if you head here you enjoy art... and from that perspective the Sculpture Garden delivers. Of course, we all go for the iconic Cherry Spoon, but my favorite piece is the horse. Look closely... the horse was sculpted from driftwood, then disassembled and each piece cast in bronze, then reassembled...amazing. Note: if bringing the family, not much in the way of food available on-site = cafe' likely beyond most kid pallettes and food trucks are desserts only.

WONDERFUL PLACE TO STROLL! Admire the different pieces of art and don't miss the numerous flowers at the far end of the Sculpture Garden (furthest end from Walker Art Museum). There are numerous benches along the paths, if you want to sit & relax during your stroll.

What a unique experience in the heart of the city. From abstract sculptures to poetry, the sculpture garden offers a beautiful walking tour through a quaint city park. Great stop for short visits!

Loved this! So glad we stopped to see this fantastic exhibit. The day after we were there we found out the artist of the cherry and spoon slide passed away. She was so talented .

It’s a nice place for relaxing and walking. All sculptures are very interesting work of art. It’s nice that it is open to the public for free, but must pay for parking. I highly recommend to stop by if you are a visiting Minneapolis.

This sculpture garden is really beautiful. It's a great place for families. friends, dates and singles. And it's free! But I urge you to make a donation. There are so many displays of amazing art. If you go online to their website, they have information about each art piece and some fun games. The weather was perfect on the day I visited so I was able to leisurely stroll the garden and take some awesome pictures. They do have a Cafe but I had eaten breakfast right before I went.

Large modern sculpture park with a mix of small, large, good, and lame pieces. The cherry on the spoon is worth the trip all by itself. Adequate parking available.

ABSOLUTELY love bringing my littles here. So much positive energy is in this place. One of our top choices close to home, they choose it almost every time for our evening walk. For all ages. Just brings such positive vibes to all. Lost to look at, & lots to read. Beautiful views. Friendly people. If you ever need a family photo done. Don’t be afraid to ask for assistance from others! They are so friendly, and willing to help you and yours. Just a great neighbor, lots to do and lots to look at🙃 I hope you choose to go there and have a great experience like we do!

👍👍 Had a great experience at this stadium watching Rammstein. Security was efficient and friendly. Had some fried cheese curds that were the best I have ever had. Prices for concessions suck though. The concert it's self sounded great. However the music playing before the show could barely be heard....
