Beautiful place, enter with respect, after all it's a temple of faith and prayer. There is no objection for taking pictures inside, just be aware in case of a service or event happening (mass, funerals, weddings, etc). The art is everywhere around you, I was in awe. Highly recommend it, feel free to go inside with your family. All are invited. It is a Roman Catholic minor basilica, the first one in the USA. An important landmark that you can not miss.

Beautiful Church. I went to mass today and the choir makes you feel like you are about the get to heaven, their voices are so magnificent and sweet. The environment is magical and it really touched my core. The Father has a really nice and calm voice, that carried a great peace and love message, specially for these struggling times. The architecture is exquisite and at the end of Mass, there was a guide that gave us a short tour and explained a bit about the Basilica's history and the chappels inside it. Amazing place where you can really feel closer to God and our Holy Mother.

Attended a friend's funeral. He was a musician. Fittingly, the lighting dimmed for the service. The priest said it seemed broken, then made a joke about it. 10/10 would recommend for Catholics. Also welcoming of interfaith guests at services like funerals and weddings. If you're looking for services of other faiths or denominations, you're probably not going to find those at the Basilica (because, you know, it's a Catholic church).

Absolutely lovely. Attended a wedding and it was beautiful. You can't see the bride and groom or wedding party as they are too far away, but the location is incredible. Free parking on the weekend on the west parking ramp under the freeway. First basilica in the US!!!! WOW!

We went to this Church pretty recently for the Palm Sunday Mass. Parking can be a little hard to find so it helps to arrive a little early, but it’s definitely worth all the hassle. Absolutely beautiful Church. The architecture is jaw-dropping and beautiful. The Church itself is also very serene and peaceful. The presence of God is definitely strong here. Definitely a must-see!

Gorgeous building. Inside and out. When I first walked up I have my prescription sunglasses on and spotted what looked like a homeless person sleeping on the front bench. I continued to walk towards the church stairs and looked back over towards the person. The first thing I noticed was no shoes. I stopped and started heading towards him. I'll check out the church later I thought. I noticed dark black feet that looked dirty from walking with no shoes on for a long time. I got really concerned. And marched faster contemplating, where can I get this person shoes, a shower, a meal. Thinking how much cash can I give. I get closer and see dark, deep gashes on the top of this persons feet. I get scared. Oh my gosh he needs a doctor. I reach and touch the guy hoping I can help in any way. As soon as I touch him, he felt cold and hard. I jump back in fright! It's a statue!! Confused and surprised I take my prescription glasses off and its clearly a statue. It seriously looked like a real person. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be, but I truly believed I saw a real person. Those markings became familiar to me. It is a statue of my savior Jesus wrapped in a blanket lying on the bench. This experience was definitely a wild one. I left impressed and relieved.

The place is beautiful inside and out. The art; the stained glass, the statues, the depictions and scenes are very beautiful. If you are able to make it to attend a service, I highly recommend. Visiting from Florida I was able to make a portion of the January 14th mass and the music was very beautiful. The mixed in bits of swahili and African were also very beautiful. Ahmina and thank you! Afterwards they had music and festivity for the MLK holiday plus.

Love the Basilica of Saint Mary! It is an icon in the Mpls skyline and a site worth visiting! We were married here and love to come back for services. Highly recommend the tenebrae service during Lent - the most unique Catholic service I have ever seen. They also do wonderful work within the community. Helping those in need, hosting community events, and sharing local and national art.

Beautiful church with some interesting history. We were in town getting an emergency passport for a family emergency. We spent 4 hours here and it was so calming and peaceful for us considering our circumstances. It allowed us a wonderful place to talk to God at a moment it was greatly needed. Thank you for the open doors and invitation to talk to our Lord.

I was visiting from another state. We went there for the 9:30 AM mass on the Feast of Christ the King (2022). It was a heavenly experience with the massive architecture, relevant homily, angelic choir, and solemn Eucharistic celebration.

A beautiful stone basilica on the edge of downtown Minneapolis. The main doors tend to be locked but on some afternoons the side doors are open. It is just an incredible structure and worth going inside if open.

I went with my daughter to get a voucher to get her ID. They also do prayer requests. They are open Tuesday and Thursday 9:30a - 11:30a, need to show proof of being MPLS resident. You want to get their early but will stand in line. I was able to get a $20 Speedway gas card by showing my driver's license. They only give 1 a year. They also give bus cards if you show proof of employment.
