July 2022: I needed to use the restroom and they had the closest public option to the Blick Art Store. To show respect and thanks for them allowing me to use their facilities without questions, I wanted to buy something...ordered the shrimp tempura sushi roll, which was delicious! Pros: * Beautiful, spacious interior decor of the restaurant with plenty of tables/ chairs in the dining area. * Good food that tasted authentic. * The menu items were listed in English and were very easy to read/understand. The items also seemed to contain some authentic items which is consistent with I experienced during my travels to southeast Asia. * Clean restroom. Liquid soap was available and paper towels were stocked. Typically, a clean bathroom can be indicative of a clean kitchen. * Friendly staff who were patient with me as I carefully inspected the menu items. Cons: * While it was tasty, I would have liked more eel sauce on my sushi roll. I know to request extra for the next time. Conclusion: I will return

This was the best sushi I have had in years. Freshness is most important. Thanks for such a great experience

first time here and first thing is first that drink was super delicious even though it was small and didn’t taste any liquor, the flavors were good. it was very crowded in there, you can tell they are popular and they did have a lot of doordash orders. i tried the manhattan roll, it was great but too much mayo for my liking. i ordered the teriyaki scallops, they were okay to me but i did like the brown sauce that came with it. the brown rice was very dry, i feel like if they offered fried rice it would have been a better choice. i tried squid for the first time here and it was tasty, kind of rubbery but it wasn’t bad at all. i do want to come back and try more sushi because they have a huge selection of sushi and to get that drink but food wise idk yet.

An excellent purveyor of Japanese (& Malaysian) treats. They also have an excellent assortment of Japanese sake. I most often order the toro tartar but on my visit the other day, I tried the yuzu tuna. The cubed and lightly dressed tuna (also scallions, roe and sesame seeds) was on a bed of greens in a heart shaped wall of thinly sliced avocado in a yuzu ponzu sauce. I am generally a bit prejudiced about avocado in sushi/sashimi but have to admit this was a very flavorful appetizer. I include a photo of the Toro Tartar and the Black Pepper Tuna appetizers and the Ten Zaru. One of the delicacies available from the sushi bar is botan ebi. The raw large shrimp is accompanied by the fried head. A rare delight. Another photo of a pair of botan ebi attractively arranged on a bamboo design plate. The agedashi tofu appetizer. The hamachi kama (yellow tail collar bone) is a delicious accompaniment to cold sake. There are morsels of lightly grilled fish in the channels of the bones. I recently ordered a maguro, chutoro, otoro combination. A delicious tour of tuna flavors. The oshinko (Japanese pickles) are a great accompaniment to cold nihonshu. A feast for the eye as well as the mouth.

Very tasty, would recommend! It's a little bigger than a mom and pop joint, but it's got a lot of good stuff. We didn't get any sushi but what we saw looked good, and you can see it prepared in the front. Both dishes we got were very tasty

Had a good dining experience here at Pacific East! The sushi was pretty good and appropriately priced (it's always a bit pricey). Nothing out of this world, but a good sushi place that's not far away from where we live so I expect to be back.

I used to order out from here at least once a week when I lived nearby. The sushi, the japanese dishes, the malaysian dishes, all of it is yummy and fairly decent priced. It’s a cozy small spot for a date, but I wouldn’t recommend for a large party

I went to lunch here for my birthday. The place was not busy. We were seated and waited on quickly. The food was hot and tasty. I think when I work from home, this may be a favorite spot of mine to hop in and grab a bite to eat. I attached a few items we ordered.

Not the best takeout tonight. Missing ingredients. And dipping sauce for spring rolls was wrong. The sushi was warm, and the nigiri was cooked, not raw, as ordered.

This is a great authentic Japanese restaurant on Coventry that's been around for years. They're so authentic that they give you chopsticks at the table before they give you silverware. There are numerous sushi options and the other entrees have generous portions at a fair price. They also have a great selection of sake! If you love seafood and/or want to try authentic Japanese cuisine, this is a great place to check out!

Been coming here since before Coventry died and this restaurant was all blue. Was very disappointed today. Ordered a dish that was chicken on lemon grass with roasted herbs with coconut curry sauce and rice. I got chicken chunks on lettuce cut in almost lemongrass sized pieces with two whole stewed tomatoes in it that tasted fowl. There was nothing in it that tasted like coconut curry. My family also ordered bubble tea and we got four glasses with nothing mixed. It was just water with loose powder in it and pearls so over cooked that they were breaking apart. I've been coming to this place for about 20 years now and I'm done with it. I have really strong memories associated with this place but whatever is happening now is just going to ruin every memory I've made.

First time trying this place, I ordered the sushi and sashimi lunch special. The fish quality is great overall. The salmon was definitely a charm. Also, for those who don’t like raw fish, it has plenty of cooked food on the menu. I would go back.

Wonderful ambiance - clean and plenty of space. Quick service and incredibly friendly. Some of the freshest sushi I’ve had in a long time with more than reasonable prices. Don’t forget to add some cocktails to your meal for a steal and warm miso soup. Couldn’t have been happier my experience here!

food is always pretty standard and good, but last time I came, they upcharged me for substituting tofu for chicken! kind of ridiculous, considering tofu on the rest of the menu is cheaper than chicken. wish restaurants would stop screwing over people who don’t eat meat for an extra dollar or two. just trying to slow the warming of our shared planet a little! and we all know tofu is much cheaper than chicken, especially these days.

good food! great sushi (for my first time trying sushi haha) and amazing fried rice. plus short wait time for online order pickups, and very friendly staff! not too busy either. plusss, literally best bubble tea ever!!!! update 2023: I finally came back! I got the Tofu and Vegetable dumplings, and the avocado and veggie rolls. They were SO good. The staff is incredibly friendly and fast. The dumplings were so filling, I could barely eat my sushi. This was amazing. I forgot take photos before eating but here's some of the sushi.

Nice Asian restaurant focused on Japanese and Malaysian cuisine. Great variety of items on the menu and reasonably priced. Portions were generous and service was fast and prompt. Restaurant opens at 11 and closes from 3-5p. Starts getting busy around 5:30p. Street parking available and a parking lot down the street is also available.

Having lived in NYC for 11 hrs now I wasn't high on hope when my wife wanted me to go to a sushi place in Cleveland Ohio... I fully admit I was wrong. This place had sushi that tasted fresh off a fishing dock, like the dude/dudette in the boat handed it to the sushi chef to cut for me. Rolls were excellent as well, loved their various sauces and their bbq eel. We ate so much here, I think I had to be rolled out afterwards. Excellent bar selection to go with your meal as well.
