Hinckley Lake and the Hinckley Reservation are marvelous assets for all who love to be outdoors. The trails are well maintained, the lake is beautiful, and the rates for boat rentals are incredibly reasonable. This scenic park is by far the best component of the emerald necklace maintained by the Cleveland Metroparks.

we just went here to do some kayaking and try out a new paddleboard we got and i hadn’t been here in so long and it’s beautiful i love it. there’s so much to do you can boat or swim at the beach or hike or fish or hammock i could probably spend the whole day here. plus you don’t have to worry about annoying yachts and stuff plowing u over. the only problem is it’s crazy busy like don’t come here planning to get a moment to yourself because there r people everywhere and not enough parking BUT don’t let that deter u it’s still a baller place. oh also the bathrooms were pretty clean which was a shock but a good shock yk.

This area is a nice family spot. Got a small bit decent swimming lake with waterfall from a large lake up top. You can fish up top maybe do some paddle boating and on bottom some swimming . Kids love it . Good place for a summer day. Got large grassy area with some picnic tables and grills available for use and maybe some game set Cornhole etc. All in all good place to spend a day cook out eat and swim with the family .

Enjoyed hiking the trail around the lake, goodbye lake see you again in about 3 years! They are draining it in mid September 2023 for 3 years for dam rehabilitation.

Love this place. From photos at sunset or sunrise to winter and fall, to just floating around in a pontoon. Pretty awesome area.

Hinckley Lake, like many parks in Ohio, offers grand variety and cultural experiences. When I’m there, I feel like I can fly, swim, hike, or run to my heart’s content.

Great park to walk, run, fish and swim. My family had a lot of fun here. Even when it’s hot you can cool off near the spill way. The fish I caught were small, I need to buy smaller hooks.

A gem of an inland lake. Clean, large and filled with flora and fauna. Lots of families enjoying nature not far from suburbia.

The swim area is bit deeper than I remember, but much more relaxed. Water also has a noticeable amount of sediment, but not too cold.

I am not sure if it is fake reviews or ignorance that people are rating this place so highly for kayaking....it is basically a glorified pond with a boathouse on it. The pond is nothing special at all. It will be a huge disappointment if you are anything other than a first time kayaker unless your idea of kayaking is a basic pond with about 100 noob kayakers and paddle boarders on it. It is about 80 acres and you can expect about 1 or 2 kayaks or paddleboards with screaming kids per acre.

I recently visited Hinckley Lake and had a great time exploring the beautiful lake and surrounding trails. While the lake and boat house are stunning and well-maintained, there were a few minor issues that detracted from the overall experience. One issue I noticed was that there are large holes where the benches are located, which can fill with water and mud after it rains. This can be frustrating, as it makes it difficult to enjoy the benches without getting your feet wet or dirty. Additionally, there were a few other minor structural issues that could benefit from some attention. Despite these minor issues, the lake and surrounding trails are absolutely gorgeous. The water is crystal clear, and the surrounding nature is breathtaking. The boat house is well-stocked with rentals and provides an excellent launching point for exploring the lake. However, I do have one concern regarding the trails. They tend to get very muddy, and it would be beneficial to close them off during rainy days to prevent further damage. This would also ensure that the trails remain accessible and enjoyable for future visitors. Overall, I would highly recommend visiting Hinckley Lake for its stunning scenery and excellent boating options. While there are a few minor issues to be aware of, the beauty and tranquility of the lake make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a peaceful and scenic retreat.

We love to visit Hinckley Lake. The have a small boat launch as well as the boathouse for rentals. The lake is a popular place but the water is nice, the people are friendly & courteous. It's a peaceful spot and great to paddle around in without having to worry too much about bigger boats.

Hinckley Lake is surrounded by many trails that are perfect for long walks or runs. It has a beautiful atmosphere. There are several large parking lots near different areas of the lake, allowing convenient access. The spillway is a popular area where people can swim. Rentals for several activities are available.

If they would re-open the bathrooms we would give it a 5 star. Otherwise, nice clean beach, for the most part people kept their social distance, and the kids and I had a good time.
