A peaceful, adventurous, pleasent, blah blah blah😝 ...... you will get an awesome experience here while you visit here during monsoon season. Chances of wildlife spotting (elephants, jungle foul, monkeys, bison) an awesome veiw of kakkayam dam, misty & foggy road with lush green blanket & hairpins. Now you don't need to spend even a penny for travelling through that road to kakkayam( past we have to pay rs 40/-) the natives had raised a protest so that we can travel for free... we have to walk little bit towards urakkuzhi water falls, which had given a fearfull atmosphere, blood thirsty leeches are all over the mashy area nearby " BE CAREFUL " For two wheeler parking we have to pay rs 40/- whereas Kakkayam boating (rs 750 for a boat trip even 1 traveller or upto max 5 travellers) gives an unexperienced feeling. We had gone through speed boating in heavy rain & thick fog, we can see 2 beautifull water falls & sometimes elephants & bisons in those islands.... IT'S MY SUGGESTION : Try to go there in group for enjoyment & safety...

Small shops available there. Eco tourism can be improved little more. Ticket entry is there. Each there in morning time . Washroom is available but not clean & neat . Great place if u are looking for an hiking adventure. The narrow roads makes tough for 4 wheels to pass through. The best mode of transportation to top is by using a 2 wheelers ( motorbikes , cycles) and yea! Don't forget to wear safety gear while doing so. Make sure your fill your vehicle with gas cuz there is no gas station near by , if you are out of gas there your are on your own ! Good luck ! Have fun!

Seriously it's a heritage of the Malabar.... U can able to feel the best riding experience though the kariyathanpara to kakkayam road. It's having 3 hairpin turnd, and awesome sceneries....😍

Nothing much to say breathtaking experience ! One of the best places to visit in Calicut. I personally recommend coming to the place in the early morning or evening. Weekends are usually crowded. Whereas other days are not that much congested or crowded. There is a small petty shop and small hotels to get a chai.
