Spadra Park

Park Campground

😐 Clean bathrooms and showers. Boat ramps are nice. Wouldve been 5 stars, but the TRAIN you read about in all the reviews is no joke. The track runs down the campground about 100 yards from the camp sites. There is also the road crossing the track. So not only is the train loud, it's blowing the horn.... People often mention train, park,

Clean bathrooms and showers. Boat ramps are nice. Wouldve been 5 stars, but the TRAIN you read about in all the reviews is no joke. The track runs down the campground about 100 yards from the camp sites. There is also the road crossing the track. So not only is the train loud, it's blowing the horn. It comes through at least 10 times per day and 6 to 8 times per night. It is virtually impossible to sleep for more than an hour without being woken up by an insanely loud train. Unfortunately I won't return. Solely due to the train.

Beautiful morning views here. There is a train track that runs adjacent to this park so if you don't want to hear a train roaring through multiple times during the night then I don't recommend this park. The restrooms have showers and the campsites have electric. Besides the train, this park is peaceful.

WOW- breathtaking- clean- peaceful Forrest. If you ever want to just breathe in such calmness make sure you take a walk down this trail. It's so calm I got to see dear crossing my path and it also takes you right into the little town of Clarksville.

Nice spacious campsites with water and electric hookups on some. Grass needs cutting and signage directing us to where the campsites are located by section. We had to drive around looking for the D section. Beautiful views of the lake from most sites we saw.

We had another beautiful afternoon at Spadra Park. The water looked especially blue today with clear skies above. We are from western NY State, but we have visited Spadra often when we are in Clarksville. The kids call it the Ark Park in Arkansas because the playground is shaped like a big boat (ark). We love using the big pavilion and grill next to the playground in the off season. There are some spots where we can hike down to the water, and the kids love tossing and skipping stones. But you certainly want to use caution along the steep ridges. Our first visit was in 2015, and we have made it a family tradition since. There is also a train track next to the park, and we usually get to see one train in an afternoon visit. When the kids hear it coming they like to run to that side of the park and watch it rumble past. Very scenic and lots of fun for family day visits.

Needed a place to stop for the night/morning while traveling cross country in our RV. It was like 2am when we arrived, so didn't want somewhere we had to check in. Found this park while sitting at a nearby gas station, did the online reservation for $16, and parked at D5. Woke up to a GLORIOUS sight and absolutely perfect weather. This has been the nicest random overnight stop during our journey, saving for all future trips through AK!

We booked a stay for Friday and Saturday as a quick rest stop during our travels and ended up staying a week. We originally booked D4, which was a gorgeous site and unobstructed view of the lake (so is D5), and then later moved to D1 for the full next week. All of the sites have a beautiful view. The park is well kept and the showers/bathroom are clean and private. The park is right next to train tracks, and a train goes by every few hours or so, but in my opinion it didn't detract from our stay. The park has 30amp hookups, fire rings, water on each site and can fit large RV's (ours is a 43ft). They also have a dump station that is easy to pull in and out of. Tree coverage over the sites, lake and mountain views and fishing piers. We spent a day in the Ozark National Forest which was only a 20 minute drive. Walmart and other stores are only a few minutes down the road.
