This building has significant elements from the Palace of Congress in Rome and the building of Finland Station in St. Petersburg. It was finished in 1963. Within it there are some of the most important institutions of the social and cultural life of the capital, such as the National Theater of Opera and Ballet and the National Library.

Nikita Khrushchev laid the first stone of this "palace" during a visit in Albania in 1959. The building was finished four years later. Today it houses the National Library as well as the national Theater of Opera and Ballet, The architecture reminds you of many communist-era buildings spread throughout Eastern Europe.

Palace of culture, Tirana. I was there and I am giving you honest review. It's an open and large place where people kinda meet. Different people fromall part of the world that resides or visit Albania. There are rows of shops and bars where I got a bottle of beee to drink. Palace of culture gave me a feeling of old Greek court with it tall pillars of wall. It's a good place to mingle and meet friends. I like the services of the bartender at the particular parlor I went too

(Translated by Google) It is a historical place in Albania from the period of the Regime that today has been completely adapted for office use. Most of the offices are of Italian institutions and there are also many offices of Italian companies, the vast majority. Obviously all these do not form a system, when they do not even compete with each other. It could be a pole of the development of the Italian business in Albania but totally lacking a direction that is competent and willing to do so (Original) È un luogo storico dell'Albania del periodo del Regime che oggi è stato completamente riadattato ad uso uffici.

The first stone for its construction was placed on June 3, 1959 by the former Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev on the old Bazaar of Tirana and was inaugurated in 1963. It is accessed through a staircase, aesthetically very similar to other buildings built in Eastern Europe at that time, and in which there are always crowds of people sitting. It currently houses the National Opera Theater and the National Library.

The Palace of Culture is a magnificent architectural wonder that showcases the rich cultural heritage of its city. The grandeur of its design and the intricate details on the facade are truly awe-inspiring. Inside, the Palace hosts an array of cultural events, performances, and exhibitions, making it a hub for artistic expression and community engagement. Its central location makes it easily accessible, drawing locals and tourists alike. While some areas could benefit from maintenance, the overall experience of visiting the Palace of Culture is an enriching journey into the heart of the city's artistic and cultural identity. A must-see destination for anyone seeking to immerse themselves in the arts and history of the region.

Edge of main square with several bar/ restaurants. Had a drink in one of the bars, nice place to sit and enjoy the sites of the main square. Service was very good in the place we were.

It was apparently a gift to the Albanian people from Stalin but the exterior mosaic is the most noteworthy aspect in my view. Sure the exhibits are worth a look from a tourism and awareness viewpoint too yet there are many Italian ate building to admire on a walk around.

The Palace of Culture in Tirana on Skandenberg Square is a theater and opera in one. The building after renovation is impressive and is in the main center. The square is located in a huge underground parking lot.

The Palace of Culture of Tirana (Albanian: Pallati i Kulturës) was built on the Pazari i Vjeter area of Tirana by request of Enver Hoxha. For this construction, both the old bazaar and the historic mosque of Mahmud Muhsin Bey Stërmasi were destroyed under the rulership of the Albanian Labour Party in adherence to the communist country's declaration of state atheism. The Ottoman mosque had been built from 1837 to 1840 and had a tiled roof as well as a striking minaret with a sherefe. The first stone of the new building was symbolically put by Nikita Khrushchev in 1959. The work was finished in 1963. The architecture is very similar to many communist era social buildings in Eastern Europe. There have been virtually no renovations to the building since its construction. The Palace of Culture includes the National Library of Albania and the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Albania
