Excellent spa day. This must be the most impressive spa on the Island of Ireland if not the whole British Isles. So many pools saunas, steam rooms etc. Very friendly staff. Good portions for lunch at the cafe. First time at the spa and will certainly be back.

Pros Nice rooms. Spa was nice on first visit and not to crowded. Food was good on first visit. Cons Spa was crowed on Second visit, Celtic sauna was inaccessible as booked by "private party". Plunge pool was broken, staff didn't know when it would be fixed... Food/restaurant service was mediocre on Second visit. Forgotten items. Parmesan truffle chips, which were undercooked oven chips with no truffle oil. Room taxi arrived 50% of the time. Conflicting information from staff that caused a lot of hassle on Second visit. One said one thing the other said something else, then the first staff denied saying it. Very offensive and distasteful. To sum up - the first visit we enjoyed and found relaxing even though the heating and water didn't work. The second visit service had declined a lot, and the Spa was way to overcrowded with inaccessible areas/items. The second visit put us off and we will try somewhere else in future.

Staff, service, spa, food - everything was wonderful. It was the perfect getaway for my partner's birthday. As we're expecting in 4 months, I wanted to get something relaxing for her, this was perfect. Thank you for catering to my request for our arrival on her birthday, the room had a nice card and surprise waiting for my partner. We will definitely make this our frequent spot.

Stayed in the Shepherd huts which were absolutely stunning and had everything we could need! Super comfy bed too! Only a 2 minute walk from the Thermal village. The spa itself was amazing. We had full body massages and a private Riverside tub experience which was divine! The staff were wonderful! Dinner and brekkie were both fab and super tasty! Great atmosphere everywhere we went!

We have stayed here many times over the years. Before COVID and the price hikes, we never had much issues and enjoyed the luxury experience. The staff in general are lovely. The managers that we've dealt with over the years seem to be under pressure or never available. We had an issue a couple of years ago and the manager that was dealing with it went off on annual leave but no one else picked up the complaint. We had to wait until they returned. We stayed in different rooms up to the suites as we enjoy a bit of luxury as this is a treat when we book. The location is outside Ballymena and is roughly a 45 min drive for us from where we live in Belfast. Our last stay, which was a 2 night stay in a suite at the start of October for my partner's 40th birthday, was lovely but unfortunately we had a few problems. We had filled in the online form which is sent to you after checkout and I raved about certain staff and certain areas of the hotel. Some of the problems we had was that a part of the spa was being used as a function for some makeup social media star, so therefore we couldn't use this area. We were given 2 signature gin cocktail vouchers to use in the conservatory but when we went here to enjoy a cocktail before dinner we were told that there was a function being held there and we were directed to the bar. I don't think we received the same experience as to what we would have got in the conservatory. Part of the spa was closed at one point for maintenance so we couldn't use that. These were a few issues we faced. One of the managers called Joanne tried to contact me on a Sunday evening leaving me a voicemail which I picked up on Monday morning. I emailed her explaining that unfortunately I don't take calls on a Sunday as my phone is used for work purposes also. She then tried to ring again the following Sunday which baffled me. I didn't respond to this as I had a death in the family but I did respond at later date explaining this but I never got a response. Who calls in relation to query or following up on a complaint on a Sunday night. I feel there are certain aspects of the Galgorm that they lack in customer service and sadly this comes from management. I believe they need more communication between them and they should work together to follow up on queries and complaints when each are off for an extended period of time. The experience I had with Joanne following up on a complaint was very poor and frustrating.

There is not much to say here, just get your self there for one or two nights and you will see why this place is fantastic, I can not fault one thing about this place. The staff especially are so helpful its unbelievable. The spa/pools/chill out area are the best we have ever come across in Ireland. This place is a must and if you get the chance to stay in a shepherds hut do, it was brilliant. The choice of restaurants is great and the Pub on site is perfect. Cant wait to go back.

We stayed for a night on 1st November. The accommodation was fab as usual. We stayed in one of the Shepherds huts and it was faultless. Unfortunately, the service throughout was poor. There was a lot of waiting times. Yes, it was a busy period but the galgorm is always busy especially now you've expanded your accommodation. Get more staff and upskill the ones that you have.

Exceptional venue. Staff were terrific. Happy in their work which really showed. From being greeted by Maurice at the door through to the waiting staff and staff throughout the complex. All were delightful. Outstanding grounds and gardens and food was beautifully presented and delicious

Good evening team, I would like to say a massive thank you for the most amazing stay on Friday. I was visiting from Australia and had to reschedule my stay and dinner reservation a few times due to my Australian home town hit by a cyclone. Your staff were all extremely accommodating and helpful throughout the communication. When on-site, nothing was any trouble. Andrew and Tracey were delightful on arriving and leaving. The food and service in Gillies for dinner and breakfast was exceptional. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Many thanks

Beautiful place and beautiful rooms. Spa is great, service is good. Restaurant is good but service was slow and staff in my view were too busy and overcrowded. Bar is amazing. We were there on Friday night and we had massage and relaxation and food .. lovely atmosphere and some proper acoustic guitar playing and some good music. Tad bit overpriced though..

We have just had a 2 night stay at the Galgorm for a wedding on the 19/11/22 in the Phantom House and 4 seasons for the reception! This was the best hotel stay I have ever had, and I’ve stayed in many hotels in many countries. The attention to detail was phenomenal! From the reception staff to the concierge to the wedding co-ordination Shane who was FABULOUS!!!!!! The food was exquisite, it was served hot, everyone was served at the same time and it was moreish and delicious, hands down the best food I have ever eaten!!!! A massive thank you and appreciation to the Galgorm for making the day effortless for the bride and Groom and for me as the maid of honour! Thank you!

Hi, we came to yourselves for our honeymoon at the start of the month We put in a complaint that has yet to be resolved appropriately. We had a very disappointing stay as we were charged £130 extra for mistakes made by staff members when booking our stay. We got charged for a treatment and brunch that was already in our price break down and grand total. We have passed on emails that clearly prove our booking and what arrangements had been agreed with yourselves. To then be charged extra. The girl dealing with us acknowledged and could see where the mistakes had been made. I feel that the price that you agreed over the emails should have been honoured. Our stay was already expensive without the surprise of the extra cost for staff mistakes. We see that you’ve offered a later check out time and an upgrade for our next stay however this is not good enough as we are unsure if we will be back after the disappointment of our previous stay. This was for our honeymoon it was supposed to be a positive experience that now looking back on we just feel great disappointment that we came to yourselves to celebrate. We’ve came to yourselves to celebrate previous milestones and enjoyed our stays, we feel sad that this visit hasn’t felt the same. I would also like to express that the hotel seems over packed with guest that it is difficult to use your facilities.

How to put this review over correctly. Everything was very mediocre. Room was meh, old and standard. Food was out right bad, better off getting a taxi into the town and eating cheaper and better, drinks prices are outrageous for Northern Ireland. Service was good, but staff were all very good but standing about which isn’t a good sign. Grounds are absolutely stunning and Spa services are great. Overall a very mediocre experience for the price.

The ultimate luxury spa break. Stayed in the 2 bed shepherd's hut. Georgous living area and kitchen with mini gin station and drinks in the fridge. Tea and coffee, ( real milk ) biscuits and crisps . Outside wept had our own hot tub and fire pit and seating area . A short walk along the river to the Thermal Village ( spa area) it has everything, cold plunge, salt cave, aromatherapy, ice rooms, sauna, steam, pools, jacuzzi, hydrotherapy and lots of hot tubs. A half hour facial and half hour back massage was £100 and was heavenly. I had a lady called Stacey who took amazing care of me. I felt like I was walking on clouds afterwards. Restaurants on site are fab or you can get the free shuttle to Galgorm Castle. Food is out of this world and you won't beat any meals from here. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinners were superb. A big thanks to Jack who really did go above and beyond, looking after us, in the conservatory. Our 2 time staying and we're booked in again.

Had thee most awful experience in this establishment… booked a deluxe room with bath etc, it was like a dungeon, dark with a handicap shower… went to the toilet after my main course, came back two other people sitting at my table… I specifically told the waiter/waitress I’d be back, the night porter on the desk was rude, and this review is short, the reality was much worse, sent a letter recorded delivery and never heard tell of them… the one cost around £500, with dinner and 2 spa treatments which weren’t the best!!! Not another scent would I spend in this establishment, completely over rated!!!!

Always fantastic. Just FYI you can order take away pizza and take it to your room! Great as we were staying with kids.

Good experience overall but the drinks prices are criminal and really annoyed me, enough to write this review. £9.50 for a bottle of Kopparberg. £15.50 for a cocktail. The cocktail's were nice but not that nice. Over £20 for a pizza I had to go and collect (no room service from this particular restaurant in a fancy hotel like this) and it was just ok. I've had better frozen pizzas I'm sorry to say. Breakfast was excellent. The room and bed were very comfortable. The bathroom design in our room was a little strange though. Having a wall so close to the front of the toilet was very odd. I would seriously have to reconsider staying here again unless there was a really good deal.

I had an overnight stay, everything was fantastic from start to finish. Staff were professional, friendly & helpful, the room overlooking the river, the spa was amazing. We ate in the golf House and a car was provided to & from the hotel, nice touch! Breakfast was perfectly prepared with a great selection to suit all tastes. Look forward to the next time!

Heavenly. Much consideration has gone into every detail & the staff are so genuine and helpful! Can’t believe we’d never visited.. we’ve already rebooked for our wedding anniversary. Loved the record player in the room, although they couldn’t be played for long as scratched maybe new ones soon. Sofas in bar area were reserved & people told to move even though they were never taken. . Not impressive but minor. Great to have Prosecco on arrival, free mini bar & great coffee! Gluten free breakfast made me feel very content. Stunning resort! Can’t wait to return

Had a fantastic 2 night stay at the Red Oaks House in Galgorm for our friends 50th birthday celebration. We were all so impressed by the house, but what impressed us the most was the friendliness of the staff, they were all amazing! We loved every minute and will definitely be back.

Stayed in one of the new cottages for 3 nights. Brilliant space ,very well finished and home from home . A short walk takes you down to the amazing thermal village ,where there is so much to see and do . The staff are all very friendly and efficient. This has been one of our best stays in the UK to date .

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing a truly phenomenal and romantic stay at Galgorm Hotel in Ballymena. The customer service throughout our stay was exceptional, especially from the hotel reception team, door staff, and the attentive bar staff who made our experience memorable. The spa facilities at Galgorm were nothing short of spectacular. The attention to detail, particularly in the ambiance with the river and tree lines lit up at night, created a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The spa was a haven of tranquility, allowing us to unwind and rejuvenate. The little touches in the spa added to the overall experience, making it truly exceptional. However, it would be nice to see healthy options in the spa food/drink outlets. We were hoping for smoothies, fresh salads, fruits, or other healthy items, but the offerings were primarily cakes, sugary drinks, and alcohol. On a positive note, we would like to commend Donna Cunningham, who has been instrumental in planning our upcoming wedding in June 2025. Donna's assistance and friendly demeanor have made the wedding planning process easy and enjoyable. We eagerly anticipate our special day at Galgorm Hotel, knowing it will be a fantastic celebration thanks to her efforts.

Had a fabulous time as a day guest, enjoyed afternoon tea with a glass of bubbles, followed by a forest bathing experience with cocktails, enjoyed all the thermal experiences, beautiful areas to walk around, the alpine area, walled garden etc, hydro pool was amazing. The staff were all lovely and friendly, don't remember all their names but have to say the best staff I've ever met in a hotel, from the ladies and gentlemen serving us our afternoon tea, a lovely young man at the desk opposite the bar entrance and the beautiful friendly girls in the Spa and a charming lady who was collecting the towels and robes when we finished, total professionals.

Absolute gem! My friends and I had the best spa weekend:) the spa is really well thought and even with a lot of people in the hotel you dont really feel the crowds. Riverside room was clean and spacious and we slept with open window to hear the river. Service is great too! Overall for sure I will be coming back and highly recommend this spot for those who want to relax and unwind.

Love everything about Galgorm. Sure the Spa is busy, but you have to be smart about when you go. Breakfast in the conservatory is fabulous and the staff are excellent. Steaks in Gillies are well seasoned and cooked to perfection. We keep returning again and again.

My mother, brother and myself went for afternoon tea as a treat. I have been before and was always impressed with how things were presented not to mention the quality of the food, service and experience. On this occasion however the experience offered was slightly different. Please don't get me wrong, the attention to detail was first class, and the quality of all that was offered could not be faulted. The only disappointment we felt was that on this occasion the savoury aspect of the high tea was compromised in favour of the sweet treats instead. On previous occasions we had sandwiches, a soup accompaniment which was always welcome, and another savoury item, followed by the sweeter delicacies. This time around we got our sandwiches which were lovely but nothing else on the savoury side of the menu. We just felt the balance of the experience could have done with a tad more on the savoury side. The cake selection, scones with jam and cream, and mini dessert, profiterole, and pistachio éclair were faultless but just too much around lunchtime for our liking. Top marks for service, quality and presentation but the balance could just be slightly better altered

You get what you pay for. Excellent room, food excellent, facilities excellent, staff pleasant and helpful, location brilliant. Eating lunch by the river watching kingfishers fly up and down, fish jumping and a heron waiting for his lunch to swim by. So relaxing for the few days that we stayed. Arrive on time as suggested in your booking and enjoy the spa. The whole experience is worth it.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting an exceptional 5-star hotel and spa, and even though I didn't stay overnight, I had the opportunity to indulge in some delightful coffee and cocktails while enjoying the outstanding location. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted warmly and made to feel incredibly welcome by the attentive staff. Although my experience was limited to the dining and beverage offerings, I can confidently say that this establishment left a lasting impression on me. Stayed 5th November. I recently stayed at a hotel and the experience was exceptional. The variety of amenities, including saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, indoor and outdoor pools, and heated loungers, provided a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere. The outdoor experience was particularly amazing, and the spa treatments were truly top-class. The dining experience, from dinner to breakfast, was enjoyable, and the customer service was consistently top-notch. Overall, it was a memorable and highly satisfying stay

Before I start, I must admit to being a request visitor to Galgorm Resort and Spa. I find it an incredibly relaxing spot - one of the best in Northern Ireland. This time around my wife and I stayed 2 nights in The Riverside Cottage (see attached photos). What a lovely, quaint and extremely private accommodation. The cottage is situated away from the main hotel and sits right on the bank on the River Main. As always, customer service was second to none. We felt like the staff took a real interest in us. The spa has been developed again, even since our previous visit in March. Although amazing in size, further development is required as the hotel continues to increase its bedroom capacity - at time, it can be difficult to find a pool / hot tub outside to enjoy due to the numbers of people - however, the hotel is making a first class effort to increase spa capacity. Although we didn’t eat our evening meals in any of the restaurants this time we did have the opportunity to taste the food as a wedding on day 2 of our stay. It was excellent! On our first night, we opted for a takeaway from Ballymena and enjoyed it with our feet up in front of the TV in our cottage. This time round, we opted for breakfast in Gillies - and not the conservatory. Again, breakfast was very good, however, not it’s usual 1st class standard. Maybe food was just sitting out a little too long. But overall, it was still good.

We stayed for 2 nights on the back of a 1 night spa package I'd received from a client as a thank you. I wish we could have stayed for 3 😅 We've never experienced anything like it. Absolutely magnificent grounds, staff are just so pleasant and the food, my god the food 🤤 Our room looked out over the private spa garden and was beautiful to witness at night. The grounds are kept impeccably and its a joy to stroll along the river bank where accessible, there's also a wooded area with randomly light up areas. Neither of us will ever forget our stay and hope to be lucky enough to experience it again in the future.

Had a wonderful stay at the Galgorm. The staff were friendly and helpful, plus their uniforms made them look very smart. The room was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable. I thought it was a lovely treat to have the fridge stocked with drinks and treats for free. They coffee machine could make a range of coffees, and there were delicious biscuits as well. We needed ear plugs, and the reception staff were very helpful and found some and brought them to the room. The view from the bedroom window was lovely too. We enjoyed lovely food and drink and had wonderful spa treatments, and time in the hot tub. It was worth every penny as a treat.
