Beautiful little Cafe with a great food and excellent service. We had a lovely breakfast which was delicious and they are dog friendly too. One annoyance though is that parking is VERY difficult to find in the town and although they have a parking spot right outside their shop it is taken up by their advertising board!! This is a bit silly as someone like me having great difficulty to walk could really done with parking spot.

Lovely place in the picturesque Village of Cartmel. Rooms in this 17th century building are modern, tastefully designed and comfortable to make for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. Rachel the owner was great with her communication and was extremely pleasant when meeting in person. I would highly recommend this delightful place if you want a peaceful place to stay when in Cartmel.

This was our second stay at Cartmel Square and we will definitely be returning for more. The rooms are large, comfortable, tastefully furnished, very comfortable and all have views out over the square. Rachel and her team are so very helpful and extremely welcoming. The breakfasts are superb as is the coffee shop - we always call in when in the area. The location is great for exploring and enjoying the South Lakes area and its such a beautiful village for a relaxing stay if you are feeling less energetic. Whether its for a stay or just a coffee stop I can highly recommend Cartmel Square.

Absolutely incredible service from first email checking availability ( was visiting a cousin who lives in Cartmel) to check out. 100% service. Rachel and her team go above and beyond. Our room was gorgeous, and very clean and warm. Lovely choice of (included) breakfast. You will not be disappointed staying here

Rachel and her team are so welcoming. We had a lovely room, very comfortable and elegant, looking out over the square in Cartmel. Thoughtful touches. Great breakfast and helpful staff. Cartmel is a beautiful village with amazing restaurants and close to the southern lakes. Highly recommended.

My Sister and I shared a king room, which was spacious, comfortable, cosy and beautifully decorated. It was right in the centre of the village with parking very close by. Our host was helpful, efficient, warm and welcoming, and provided us with a great breakfast. We will return!

Great, cosy, welcoming place for superior coffee and mince pies. But to get 5stars they'd have to give me proper hunks of brown sugar in a bowl, with tongs , not those awful Silver Spoon sachets. C'mon folks, you're better than that!

Lovely, well decorated, comfortable room, great food and friendly service. Cartmel is a charming place to stay with fabulous restaurants and pubs, and interesting shops and places to visit nearby.
