Not been here before but will highly recommend it. The Art exhibition was great, but I thoroughly enjoyed walking around the "art for sale" bit. the fact there was so many good pieces all for sale and available to buy in instalment I thought was a brilliant idea and such good use of space, as a lot was on the walls around the entrances to different parts of the theatre . The whole experience of walking around the Atkinson was a reminder of how much you can fit into a building if its well thought out and managed.

Went to see the 'I grew up 80's' exhibition and it is a step back in time to the greatest decade of all. Such affection for film, vinyl, gizmo, pac man arcade games, leg warmers and much much more. A great collection that should certainly travel the length and breath of the UK and be shared amongst anyone that was fortunate to grow up then, when life was lived before technology. Take the kids, they will laugh but will appreciate more than ever what they have now. Take the time to read and soak this all in. Truly fab.

Visited today to see the 'Grew up in the 80s' exhibition. Really enjoyed it, nice little nostalgia trip. Had tea and cake too at the cafe. I do like the Atkinson, wish there was somewhere like it where I live!

It's the first time that we have been to the Atkinson, we went to see Some Guys Have All The Luck the Rod Stewart story. We only booked ticket on Thursday and we had really good seats, the only thing that spoilt it was one very drunk woman who was asked to sit down and she turned on the person who asked her to sit down

First time her but I will be back. The show itself absolutely brilliant but the staff were also very efficient and helpful. The building is amazing and I can’t believe I didn’t know about all the exhibitions and shows. Well done

Friendly staff, beautiful building which is well looked after and Andy Hamilton was good so was happy to travel from Wirral up to Southport to attend. The galleries of local art and older paintings are worth a visit too.

Went to the lunchtime classical concert along with elderly disabled parents. Excellent access and parking for those with mobility issues or visual impairment. We had to wait a while before the studio opened and it would have been useful for there to have been a few more chairs available on that level. The room was well laid out for those with mobility issues and an informal relaxed format for the music,

Visited the polar photography exhibition today. A beautifully layed out exhibition area, small by National standards, but perfectly formed! An engaging and calm environment for an important display of photographs. The gallery has a lovely selection of artwork, again the designers do a wonderful job. Definitely a hidden gem.

Saw China Crisis on Friday 29/09/23. Always a nice experience when visiting The Atkinson. Attentive staff, lovely venue, nice bar. Very lucky to have such a venue in the town.

First time I've visited the Atkinson since I've been coming to Southport since 1964. Didn't realise what was right under my nose after all these years. I found it very pleasurable.👍

Stunning sculptured paper display in the Exhibition area. Such talent cumulating in a cardboard replica of a Lancaster Bomber cabin and fuselage. Brilliant and moving. Go now before the exhibition ends.

My family and I had a lovely evening watching Jack In The Beanstalk. It was one of the best pantomines we have seen. Very funny!! The Atkinson staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, especially with my young grandaughters. Happy New Year

Wonderful experience for us and our 2 granddaughters! We enjoyed the panto Jack and the Beanstalk. Beautiful theatre, brilliant atmosphere and good value for money. Already booked Irish Annie’s for my husband and I in March. This was our first visit to the Atkinson (certainly not our last) and our youngest granddaughter’s first pantomime. She had a brilliant time like us all.🤶🏻🎄🤩

Enjoyed a fab Panto here with the grandsons. Lovely small venue and clean inside. Comfortable seats with add on seats to raise the seat for children to be able to see. All seats had a good view of the stage. One suggestion to the staff is maybe they could intervene with the audience members who could more easily exit on the left (as you face the stage) instead of squeezing past seated people on their row to exit on the right.

We had a fantastic day with our two Granddaughters and in-laws. It was Elizabeth's first Panto and she is two years old, we could not believe how much she enjoyed the relaxed performance. I would recommend it to anyone who has young children. What a great idea.

Went to see Hue and Cry, great gig, great little theatre, great night. Been to this theatre twice now would highly recommend having a look to see what's on, well worth a visit

My first time at The Atkinson and it is such a lovely venue. The bar was a little expensive, considering I had a rum and coke and a family pack of revels for about £8 (and yet I paid £9 at RA Bar for two spirits and mixer). I went to see Mike Leigh's 'Abigail's Party' and although it had some witty moments, it really wasn't my cuppa tea - I prefer a play with a plot or a twist. I will visit this theatre again someday...perhaps I'll make do with an ice-cream instead. 😄

Brilliant little venue! Saw the UK Rock Show and had an absolute ball. Air guitars could be seen everywhere! Staff very helpful and friendly. Even the drinks weren't a rip off! Will looking at this venue again hopefully again very soon! Loved this place!

For the size of southport this is a great venue. Great gallery and charming, rag-bag museum. Great for my small kids to roam. Would close on Monday instead of Sunday so children can go more often.

What a wonderful theatre! So modern and clean, yet still keeping some of the lovely original features. Highly recommend watching any production here, none of the seats have a restricted view either

We have just been to see Rapunzel at the Atkinson. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The play was very funny and enjoyable with plenty of audience participation. The lady who played the witch had an amazing and powerful voice. Sid the stallion was very entertaining and funny. All the actors and actresses worked extremely hard some of them doing more than one role.

We love the Atkinson. Great little museum and art gallery upstairs, plus the library and theatre spaces. Staff are always lovely too. Always worth a visit.

Visited the gallery for the first time today. There was a good selection of paintings on the theme of trees. I was most impressed by one of the staff there, a young lady of 35, who was really friendly and helpful. Will definitely visit again.

Have visited for lots of different reasons in the past and had a lovely time. Went last week with grandsons to dinosaur show and we all had a fabulous time. The event itself was great and the staff were lovely, lots of helpers showing us were we needed to be.

This is a lovely museum and library the staff were friendly and helpful. I loved that the staff were knowledgeable about the exhibits. I came here on holiday and loved the exhibitions soo much that i had to visit it twice and i believe that it should supported because it's a lovely place to visit. The children's play area, the alice in wonderland inspired exhibitions along with the ancient egyptology collection, lovely cake shop.

A really good display of the 1980's memorabilia at the moment along with the general Art displays and museum artifacts. Very nice and free to enter. At least 90 mins entertainment on a cold and drizzly afternoon

Great day here, went for the 80's exhibition, but ended up seeing the museum and having a bite to eat in the cafe downstairs. Clean and tidy and the people that work there couldn't be more helpful.
